Grab a map Friday

Good  morning! Another Friday with our Power and Spark Grab a Map challenge for the month. I am enjoying the different designs and thought I would use Peony Muse for my card today.

I stamped and colored my Peony onto white card stock, then cut around the flower to pop onto the base circle. I would have used the matching die, but I masked the leaves so I couldn't do that this time. Pierced and edge around the card base and then just a few enamel dots and some sparkle to finish it off. Voila!

Love meets Page Maps with Power Poppy

Well hello... Did you see the latest Page Maps card sketches? Becky has some fun card sketches for you to play with and Power Poppy joined in on the fun. Julie thought it would be fun to have our Power and Spark challenge this month using one of the sketches. So pick one of the new sketches and give it a whirl.

My sketch is using this one:

My first thought was using My English Rose and getting ahead start on some Valentine cards. This rose is actually part of the image with the square in the set. However I simple colored what I needed and then delicately cut around the image to pop on the card base. My designer paper has a scallop edge using ODBD Beautiful borders die. Some scrap paper was for the fish tale tags in the corner with some faux stitching to match the sketch. Then some sparkle and jewels to finish it off. Voila!

Check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the girls that played along with a sketch today! Don't forget to pick your sketch and enter it into the Power and Spark challenge this month.

Thank You Page Maps...

Happy Friday! Today is Flourishes Favorites and some of us girls are joining PageMaps today with a few creations using the new sketches. Whohoo!!! You can see all the new sketches over on the PageMaps Blog found HERE. Lots of fun new sketchs to play with this quarter. We also have a fun announcement as we have a new addition to our Design Team and that special person is Amanda Havon. You might be familiar with her work on our Friends Of Flourishes team with the weekly challenge every Tuesday. So please give a warm welcome to Amanda.
My sketch was pretty clean and simple which is perfect for me. hee hee  For my creation I am using Humming Along that I dusted off for the sketch. I stamped the flowers onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
Colored with a few copic collections today:

Once color I layered the image panel onto some Color Made Easy Candy Pink cardstock in the darker pink, then the lighter pink with a scalloped edge.

I added abit of faux stitching to the sentiment panel for fun. Then a little bit of fairy dust to the leaves and voila!

Merry Christmas

I am so excited! Today is December 1st! This is always a fast and furious month yet I love all of it. Today Flourishes is teaming up with Becky Fleck over at PageMaps with the new card sketches. Yea! Becky has the best sketches and super designs. Below is the sketch I worked with today.

My creations is using Flourishes beautiful Naturally Merry Stamp set. Since the sketch had the fun design along the side I thought why not. I stamped the holly onto classic white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink.
My holly is colored using copic collections:

The Color Made Easy Poppy Collection was perfect for my base and center panel based that I die cut using Spellbinders Label One along with Spellbinders Grommet Tags for my sentiment. My ribbon is from the Color Made Easy Poppy collection as well with some white crochet lace underneath. I do love how this turned out, the holly alone is awesome. Of course if you saw Christines creation with the holly you will be purchasing this stamp set if you don't have it already. hee hee   Hope you enjoy all the new sketches over at PageMaps.
If you are looking for the Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for December I will have a post on Monday. I didn't have time to get it ready for today, sorry. The Challenge is White as Snow. All your creation is white with only the color coming from your colored image. Silver embelishments are good and you can even use the theme of snow for your creation if you would like. Please put keyword SCSCCDEC12 in your search so we can find your creations on SCS. Have a wonderful weekend!

Today Flourishes is also working with Becky Fleck over at http://www.pagemaps.com/ Becky has a fresh new batch of sketchs for you to play with. Be sure to check it out they are all so cool and spark the creativity.
The beautiful Thinking of you set was the perfect set for my sketch. And duh... I didn't save my sketch to my other computer so you will have to check out the link for my sketch pattern. ha ha I really like using the soft baby blue and white for sympathy cards. I stamped the main sentiment frame and cut it out after it dried and popped it up on dimensionals. The background piece is using the coordinating stamp set called Vintage Wallpaper. Added a few pearls and voila! Be sure to check out the creations with the new sketchs from the girls today:

Page Maps and Christmas challenge....

Every quarter, Becky Fleck of PageMaps dishes out 10 fabulous sketches to get those creative juices flowing with her CardMaps. Well, this month some of the lovely ladies from Flourishes did the honors and took her sketches to bring CardMaps to life with beautiful and creative samples for each and every sketch. To check out CardMaps for September, click here and then click on the CardMaps link on the left.
I combined the sketch from Becky with Flourishes Christmas Spirit challenge for Sept. You can read and play along with the challenge all of Sept. here. It's a great way to get your Christmas cards done early and you never know you might WIN a Flourishes Christmas set by playing along.
Dove and Holly has to be in my top 5 favorite sets from Flourishes and in my top 2 fav Christmas sets. So after I saw the sketch Becky had for me I just knew I was using this set. I colored the doves first using the Copic Collections Sky , Water and a touch of Warm neutrals. The leaves are colored using Evergreen and Spring Greens. I stamped on another sheet the holly on the sentiment panel and cut it out and popped them up on dimensionals. I also have the Doves cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I used the swiss dots folder for the bottom part of the card and the ribbons as the center panel. I thought this sketch was a lot of fun and very versatile with what you can do with it.

Check out what the other Flourishes girls created with their sketch:
Some exciting news also! Flourishes is now on Facebook. I have no idea how to even get there since I am personally not on Facebook but check it out if you are! :0) Hope you enjoyed all our creations. Have a wonderful day.
