Pure Fragrance

Morning! Pure joy in coloring this digi called Pure Fragrance. Check out the PP Blog for inspiration and details Marcy has for you using Pure Fragrance.

I printed this large to cover most of the base of the card front. Who doesn't like large blooms anyways. :-)   hee hee  Kept this rather simple in too so the focus is the image.
Colored with Copic markers and just added a simple black little panel behind the left edge. A few pearls and then some sparkles to finish if off. Voila

Mini release at Power Poppy

Morning! How about a little mini release to get your weekend started? Marcy has been drawing and these Freshly Squeezed Scents new digi's are sure to get your scent and coloring juices flowing. Welcome Aloe and Oranges today.

I bet the first you thought was why is there lemons on this card. Well... I started coloring with my Prisma colored pencils and forgot that it was oranges and went with lemons. What can I say this set is versatile? HA! HA!  It really could be as Aloe, as my grandma used to call it "sav" goes with lemon tea when you aren't feeling well. Anyways...

Simple design as I played with the image on kraft cardstock again and added a few layers of papers. Some textures to the base layer and some strips of kraft paper. Added some brads that have been in the jar for ages. Stickles on the aloe plant and my sentiment at the top. Voila!

I Love Digital Free Rose

Morning, and welcome to my second attempt at pink coloring that I mentioned from the weekend. This one is a little bit better and not as muddy, thankfully. Still working on getting into the groove of things and it was starting to come to me. ha ha  This is a FREE digital Rose from Power Poppy that also has a class through Kit and Clowder classes. Maybe I should take the class.  :-)

After the rose was colored I delicately cut around the rose so it could be popped up on the card base. The sentiment is print on the base from the digi called La Vie En Rose. My designer paper is from the scrap bin that has some hearts in the design which was perfect for an accent. Some scallop edge and then topped off with some jeweled flourishes. Sparkle added to the rose and Voila.

Pink Christmas

A few days late posting on my blog but I did manage to get it posted on SCS like I was suppose to. This is for the February Dirty Dozen Christmas challenge. You can play along with us HERE

I like this months challenge and knew that Handmade With Love tags was perfect for what I wanted. This was intentionally left with very few embellishments as I spent a lot in postage last year mailing cards that were bulky. My goal is a few less bulky ones this year. hee hee
The image is a digi that I enlarged for the front of my card. A few layers of paper after my image was colored. Then a lot of sparkle, so it has some pizzazz after all with out all the bulkiness. Anyways... Voila! Hope you play along this month.

Deer birthday man

Another digital image that is no longer available. Man I need to either stop buying these or start using them more. The hard choices in life. ha ha  This did not quite turn out like I pictured it in my head either with the green grass like I added. Too late though once it was done I had to work with it.

Anyways, this one is using my Prisma colored pencils and some distressing around all the layers. A few brads as accents and my birthday sentiment. Voila!

Dry dock birthday

Good morning. I hope you had a good weekend. For a change I was able to sit down and get some coloring in and create some cards. That is really good too since we have several birthday's coming up and I am out of all birthday cards. This image is a digital called In The Harbour which apparently is no longer available.

Printed on kraft card stock and then colored with Prisma colored pencils. Actually played around a lot with these this weekend which was super fun. Added piercing around the image panel and the base layers. A diamond textured background before I added the piercing to that layer.
Tied some twine around and a button for the birthday sentiment and voila! It sure was nice to get into some paper and colors this weekend. Have a wonderful day.

Heart a Bloom treat box

Happy Friday! A friend needed a few little boxes to put on the girls desks with chocolates inside and asked if I could come up with a few for her. That is an easy request so I got to work and came up with these. I used the bloom in the digital set Heart Abloom as I can enlarge it to fit the boxes.

The measurements for this box are easy.
The bottom: cut a piece of cardstock 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches. Score at 1 inch on all sides. Fold in the edges and adhere to form base.
The top:  cut a piece of cardstock 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 (now I might have that last part wrong. Basically two little tick marks from the 3/4 mark if the 7/8 isn't the correct conversion) Score at 1 inch on all sides and adhere to form the top.
The belly band I took a piece of maroon cardstock 1 inch thick and wrapped around the box and adhered together in the middle. The bloom covers the over lay so no need to worry about that.

Colored the bloom with various Copic markers and then added to the belly band. A few layers to the lid with some swiss dots for texture and voila. She can add whatever she needs to at this point but I think she will keep them as is since its a surprise. :-)

Welcome Lizzy Love

Happy Wednesday! Need a baby boy card for a friend and she loves giraffe's so I knew this Lizzy Love was going to be perfect! I colored her with various Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched rectangle.

Die cut some matching stitched scallops that I am rather fond of as of late to the top and bottom of the gingham paper.  :-)  Die cut a few balloons and added sparkles. The sentiment is from TE Many Minis Occasions stamp set. Wrapped a little bit of twine through the button and voila! She is going to love this. Thanks for stopping by today.

We've got this...

This is a new from Sassy Cheryl's collection called Bunny Assistants. Too fun! This was perfect for an encouraging card that I need to hand out. A simple design as I colored the image and then die cut with a stitched rectangle.

Added a bit of gingham paper and a scallop edge to the bottom. Wrapped a piece of orange ribbon above the gingham edge and tie a twine bow with a button. A little bit of sparkle and voila!

No Orchids here but on paper

Good morning. We surely do not have any flowers here right now as the snow has just finally melted. In fact today is the first day we are on the baseball fields. GASP!!! This is week 3 of baseball season and they are just now getting on the field. Its been a crazy year with our weather. The 3 double headers that were scheduled have been moved thankfully but that means long weeks ahead for April.
Anyways... you didn't come here to hear about baseball. How about some flowers on paper?   This is Ruffled Wild Orchid from the Instant Garden collection oooohhhhaaaahhh!

A simple design for this birthday card. I tucked the birthday sentiment in the corner of the leaves and then hit print.  Then colored with Copic markers in the lovely springy shades of purple. The scallop edge along the side and some silver cord. A few pearls and voila. Notice no sparkles? Yes I am feeling okay, just didn't put any on this one. HA!

Spring Border Two Lily of the Valley

Good morning. Okay I will admit it, once I got started on the Spring Border One set I knew I had to finish with a few from Spring Border Two. I can't help it, its an addiction. Honestly I have not done a complete set like this in a long time so I was way over due. HA!  Say hello to part of Spring Border Two
This is a picture of the two cards together. Similar design like the others with just a few differences. One of the main things I will point out is the new scallop die that miss Leslie talked me into getting.  :-)  Had to have it and I LOVE it!

Again both are using up scraps of paper from the bin. Really am happy to start using more of the designer paper even the scraps. Added a button on these two and silver cord to keep them all tied together as a set.

Both of these have the sponged star background verses just one of them. Sparkle on all the flowers themselves. Voila!

Be sure to check back Friday for the fourth set in the collection I created.
Have a great day!

Tulips anyone

Morning. As promised the tulip set from Spring Border One to go with the ones on Friday. This is a group set of the two cards. Keeping in line with the same similar pattern and idea for the cards. A few changes to each one though.

The silver cord is wrapped around the top edge and I used some rhinestones on this one. This was how I intended to die cut the edge on the daffodils and well that didn't work out right. I do like the way the scallops added to the other though. Again scraps of designer paper to the bottom.

Next same sponged background as the other.  Sentiment in a different spot and I used enamel dots from Taylored Expressions for this card. Both have added sparkle like the daffodils.

Now to work on the Spring Border Two cards for the set. I had not planned on making a little gift set but then why not.  :-)  Thanks for stopping by today.

Daffodils anyone

Happy Friday! Last week Marcy released a set of new digi's remixed called Spring Border One and Spring Border Two. They are fabulous remixes that you should have in your collection. I decided to work on a few of the digi's in Spring Border One to start. Not to make this post so long I will separate out the cards and share the second set on Monday for you.  :-)  How about the daffodils today. Gosh knows I can use some sunshine and happiness with all this snow outside.  :-)

Here is a picture of the two cards together. My goal was to go with a simple design for both. You will see on Monday with the Tulips in the new digi are going to see similarities in the set.

My close up of the one. This is a great way to use up scraps of paper as well when you just use portions of the card front. A stitched rectangle for the image base. Various Copic markers for coloring. Just a little bit of silver cord wrapped around the bottom and a sparkly enamel dot for the top edge.

The next close up you will see that I sponged a star like background with deeper shades on some and lighter on the others. A strip of scrap paper down the edge on this one. Added a die cut edge to the bottom and I actually cut the one edge wrong so I added the scallop edge beneath. Turned out ok though and then a few sequins to finish it off.

This is actually turning out to be a fun little spring set. Be sure to check back on Monday for the tulip set.

Birthday rose

Morning. Do you ever get really frustrated with your camera and want to scream? Well I am of late I a because for the life of me I can't seem to get this card and another one to come out non blurry. Checked and rechecked the camera settings to make sure they weren't "off" somehow and nothing. What is the deal.... I finally said forget it and just took the best one that I thought was less blurry. Bare with me please.  :-(

This rose is called Vital Rose from the Instant Garden collection at Power Poppy. My sweet and talented friend Leslie is who inspired me with the shades of purple for this rose. Check out her gorgeous rose HERE. You will not be dissapointed I tell you.
I knew that I was going to cut the rose out, so it is printed on the larger side. I colored with various Copic markers then cut around the edges so that I could pop it up on dimensionals. A few decorative die cuts for the layers from an older Spellbinders die. Some purple designer paper for the base layer and the added white decorative layer. A pearl to finish it off, Voila!

Christmas Roses

Morning! Check this out.. Marcy has another new digi out called Snowdrops and Tea Roses. What a joy this is to color! Yellow is my favorite color of roses so they had to be yellow this first card. :-)  Besides yellow is so cheerful. This image is colored with a variety of Copic markers and then a simple yellow layer behind the panel.

The base has some crochet ribbon and seam binding wrapped around the middle. Added my image panel and then my sentiment tag with a button and twine center to the edge. Easy peasy!

Pumpkin thanks from the heart

Happy Friday! Tonight is a big night for us, it is Homecoming and Senior night at the football game. Several of these seniors are going to be greatly missed by my boys. Tomorrow is Homecoming and both the boys are attending which will be fun. We are in the first week of sprinkler blow-outs for boosters so as you imagine we are CRAZY busy. It is all good! How about some grateful pumpkins today using Painting Pumpkins the newest release from Power Poppy? Oh speaking of new releases.... Next week check back as our festive winter release will be begin with sneak peeks and fun over on the Power Poppy Blog!

Finally broke down and decided that the white pumpkins were a must to have. Seen them in stores for a few years and finally decided I will get a few. They are super fun accents for fall besides the traditional coloring and I enjoy them. So my card today is a take off the white ones you see in stores. Colored with various Copic markers. My base and the image panel both have faux stitching around the edges. The wood grain designer paper looked like a good match to the pumpkins and guess what... more of this designer paper being put to good use.  ;-)  Added some sparkles and a few pearls to finish it off. Voila!

You're my cup of cocoa

Ack! Isn't he adorable? Another "new to me" snowman  called A Frosty Cup Of Cocoa from Sassy Cheryl's. This weekend I played on WCMD and got several creations done. Not to mention some shopping for new snowmen. hee hee  You should see my "cart" at Whipper Snapper. ha ha  My new goodies arrived from The Stamp Ribbon Store from Sharon's newest release AND I ordered some new CTMH goodies. What am I thinking??? Sometimes I can't help myself. Anyways... onto my adorable new fat guy. :-)

My stack of designer paper never seems to twindel and my goal (as usual) is to start using it more. With that being said I plan to use more of it and have that be my color choice for cards. Especially since I tend to get in a rut. Blindly choose this paper from the pile. Squeel!  I love blues, lucky me. ha ha!  Anyways, colored him with Copic markers and added sparkle to his gloves, hat and scarf. A few die cut snowflakes to the corners and a sentiment from a Sweet n Sassy stamp set and a brad or two. Voila!

WCMD Seasons are upon us

Today is World Card Making Day! I seem to play along every other year as it depends on what I have going on at home. Today is all about cards, woot woot! Over on the Power Poppy Blog Marcy has some FUN going on! Check it out and all the details about playing along in WCMD and prizes with Power Poppy. So be sure and post your creations for us to see!

When we had to decide what type of card we enjoy making the most I was torn. I make a lot of encouraging cards or thank you cards so it was a toss up. I went with encouraging today since one I needed a card for a friend and two the new Season's Seatings digi just came out and I wanted to play with it.  hee hee
The scripture was put off to the side when I was getting them on the page together. Colored with various Copic markers and then scored around the border before adding the chocolate layer. Some designer paper from my growing pile of paper and added flourishes pearls to the edge. Voila! Happy WCMD, have fun!

We got a sale happening. For a limited time!!! 24 Hour Flash Sale (Sale ends Sunday, Oct 7, 2018 at 7am CST)

These next few months of challenges are helping us finish out the years Christmas cards. Hopefully you have been playing along all year, if not now is the time to join us.

Yep had to use another snowman for my card. We are getting closer to December and I like to ink up most all my snowmen each year. I got two new ones this weekend too. yippee! This is a digital one  from Sassy Cheryls called Just Chillin. Colored with various Copic markers and layered with designer papers and solid colors. Die cut a heart edge for the panel across and a few die cut snowflakes. Added sequins and some sparkles to finish it off. Voila!

Fall bountiful bouquet

Happy Friday! Oh my word... Can you believe that we only have 3 months left to 2018? The time where did it go this year?!?!?  Lots going on these last 3 months and then guess what, the new year will be here. ACK!!! Moving on....  How about a card? This is a fall creation using Bountiful Bouquet.

This is a sketch that I will be using again as I like how this turned out. Actually had embossed this background the wrong direction but I like it. That is what I get for talking and stamping at the same time. HA!  Anyways, stamped the sentiment at the bottom and added a few sequins accents and sparkle to the blooms. Voila!
