Hello Friends!!  December is here and Christmas is just around the corner.  Wow!!  Time Flies!!  I just love this time of year as we remember the greatest gift ever given, our Savior's birth!! I am a bit behind in making Christmas cards.  I love creating them and there is nothing like a personal touch sent to all those you care about.

Today I am popping in to share a scenic card I created for the ODBDSLC281 Reminder"Be Sentimental" Challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge.  I had a blast creating this Surprise Box.  It certainly does not look as busy in person as does in the picture.  I just love all the sparkle of the glitter blue and white cardstock and the shimmer of the silver metallic cardstock.

The Surprise Box itself is created using a special Surprise Box die from ODBD. The snowflakes are die cut and layered using the Snow Crystals dies.  The base of the box is covered with a piece of blue dp dry embossed with Darice Snowflake Swirls.

Hello Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.
For many in the USA this is a big day and feel the elections can make a huge difference in this country.  While I will share some words about my thoughts (not my political views!!) later in this post, I want to share a card I created for the Shining the Light Challenge at ODBD first.

This weeks challenge (ODBDSLC280) is a sketch!  For my creation I used the new Merry and Bright Stamp set, the Snow Crystals die, Christmas lights die, and the Snowflake Season Paper Collection as well as the previously released Double Stitched Rectangles, Pierced Circles and Circles dies.

We would love to see you join us for this challenge!! You have until Sunday, November 27th to join us!!  You can link your creations here at the ODBD blog. Remember you can use any stamps for your first entry but any additional entries for  the challenge must use ODBD, Artistic Outpost or Northcoast Creations stamps)

No on to my thoughts for today....

For many in the USA we are all awaiting with baited breath over the results of today's presidential election.  It seems like the life of the USA as we know it is all resting on it's outcome.  All who rest in Him and trust in God's providence know, however, while the future of our country rests on events here on earth, God is in control and will allow what occurs.  I am sure I will have to remind myself of this tonight as I watch the news as well.

37Who is there who speaksand it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it? 38Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That both good and ill go forth?…
Lamentations 3:37, 38

Thanks so much for your visits and comments!!  I so appreciate your support and all the love shared.  Have a blessed day!

I had so much fun coloring up the Living Water image and adding all the snow and sparkle!!  It has been a while since I did a different fold, so I went with a center step design!

Merry Christmas!!!  May you have a blessed day as you celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!!

Hello, Friends!!  I hope all is well!! I am sure many of you are scurrying around preparing for Christmas as am I.  I can't believe Christmas is in just a few days.  Where does the time go?!!!!

I just love this time of year with all the beautiful Christmas decorations within our house and seeing all the lights as you drive along the road.  So festive.  The lights just make you feel so warm, comforted, and happy.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light Winter Inspiration at ODBD.  It is such a beautiful photo and it was such fun to create.  I tried to look at something others may have missed such as the snowy branches and the blue flourished Merry Christmas.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Snowflake Background,Merry Mosaic dies, Merry Christmas dies, Small Bow dies, Lovely Leaves dies, Vintage Labels dies, Pinecones dies, Vintage Flourished Pattern dies, Fancy Foliage Dies, designed by Chris Olsen
ODBD Stamps Used: Snowflake Background

I decided to use the theme of the snow and blue as seen in the Merry Christmas sentiment and in the corner of the inspiration. The background is created with the Snowflake Background.  The foliage is created with a variety of green cardstocks and the Fancy FoliageMerry MosaicsPinecones, and Lovely Leaves.  The sentiment is cut in blue using the Merry Christmas die and is framed with the Vintage Labels and Vintage Flourished Pattern (inside oval).  The card itself shimmers with the outside glittered cardstock, glittered poinsettia and foliage.  It is, unfortunately, not as noticeable in the photo.

To make this ornament, I first colored the Peaceful Deer ornament and cut it out with the Double stitched Circles die.  I created a frame with the Double Stitched Circles die and Circle Ornaments die with a blue layer and a glittered white card stock.  Behind this frame is acetate cut in a circle layered on dimensional adhesive foam tape (sealed without holes) over top of the deer image.  Beads are on the inside to make it a shaker.  I then layered the image over a silver cardstock cut with the Double Stitched Circle dies and the Doily (cut out of navy).

The back of the ornament was created using this 3d Circle Christmas Ornament tutorial on SC that I wrote up.  I only made half of the ornament and adhered it to the framed and layered deer image.

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.  Christmas is just around the corner.  I can't believe how fast time is going.  It sure does not feel like that time of year here in Virginia.  The temperature is in the 70's during the day.  I sure hope that these mild temperatures now don't mean a harder or longer winter in the end.

Well on to my card for the day....

Have you lacked imagination for a masculine card?  I sure do...I just love adding the details and to me masculine seems blah.  This is a card I created for one of our customers at Etsy using the sketch at Our Daily Bread Designs for the Shining the Light challenge.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Safe Travels, Beautiful Borders, Double Stitched Rectangles, Double Stitched Circles, Rectangles, Bogo Background dies, Christmas 2015 Paper Collection, designed by Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: Covered Bridge
ODBD Dies Used: Double Stitched Rectangles, Beautiful Borders, Double stitched circles, Circle Ornaments, Rectangle
ODBD Paper Used: Christmas Collection 2015
Embossing folder: Darice Snow swirled

What do you think?  Does it look masculine enough or does the border added create a more feminine twist?  I really love the added glitter for the snow more in real life in this photo.  It looks like shimmering snow that has and icy crust.

As I look at the nature around me, I see His hand.....the snow, the flowers, the trees, the animals...it all speaks of His magnificence!!

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well!!  The time just seems to be flying by and Christmas is now only a few weeks away!!  ...and yes I am still working on getting all my Christmas cards sent out.  It always seems like such a momentous task!

Today I would like to share a Christmas card I created using the new Living Water stamp set at ODBD and the colors from the ODBDSLC265 Color Challenge.

I had so much fun coloring this image up and adding lots of sparkle with my glamor dust.  After coloring the image, I cut my image out with the new Double Stitched Circles matted on a black circle from the Circle Ornaments dies.  The image is then layered on an embossed snowflake kraft panel die cut with the Vintage Labels die.  It is a little more simplistic than a lot of my cards, but I really felt the image did not need a lot of added detail.  The embossed Snowflake layer was perfect to add a more wintery feel. The panel along the bottom is cut with a Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch.

Hello, Friends!! I hope you all are well and are looking to a wonderful Thanksgiving (for those in the USA).  I know I am!!  I look forward to a long  weekend spent with the family!!!  We hope to begin decorating for Christmas soon thereafter.  I just love Christmas!!

Today, I am going to share a card created for the Shining the Light challenge expressing the True Meaning (religious) of Christmas. I had so much fun using a variety of dies to create all the texture. The beautiful sentiment is from the Perfect light stamp set. The corners of the card are created with a flourished leaf from the Christmas Candle Dies.  The sentiment is cut out with the stitched ovals and then mounted on top of the Ovals dies, Layered Lacey Squares and Flourished Star Pattern Dies.  Rather than just add a bow, I thought a white flower created with the Merry Mosaics die would be a beautiful touch.

The small candles are created with the Windowsill Candles and layered on an oval and Elegant Ovals die.

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well!!  We, in our household, have been extremely busy preparing for a craft show we have a booth at next week.  It is crunch time to get it all done.  We have been painting from dawn to dusk (when we are not at work or doing schoolwork).  I wake up each morning to a choir of snowmen staring at me since we have them stored in a variety of rooms where our darling Zoe (cat) can not chew on the greenery.

Today I would like to share a fun little gift box I created which was inspired by today's ODBDSLC263.  I was inspired by the white sparkly ornaments, all the greenery, and the candles on the mantle.

It was created using the Windowsill Candles dies as well as the Lovely Leaves.  This is a candy box or small gift box I have created. The background is embossed.  The candles were cut from glitter cardstock.  The flames were colored with copics.  The little leaves from the Windowsill Candle were die cut and then layered for dimension to complete the greenery.

It brings so much joy to me to create for Christmas as I think of the gift of His Son and the comfort it gives me.  In light of the recent terrorism, there is no greater comfort than His Grace.

While we would like to change all that is happening, God is still in control!!!  What a comfort to rest in Him in times of Turmoil!!  Today I am praying for my dear friend Grace who begins here treatments to rid her body of cancer.  God is in Control and I know He is with her even when I cannot be.

II Chronicles 20:6 “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.”

Hello, Friends!!  Well, the leaves are changing colors rapidly and falling here!!  Winter will soon be here.  While I love Fall, it seems Spring and Fall are the shortest seasons.  With winter comes Christmas!  I can't believe that in less than 2 months it will be here.  I am not near ready.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light ODBDSLC261 Color challenge...a Christmas creation using only dies and no stamps!!!

I just love the new foliage dies (Lovely Leaves) and the Pine Cones.  They really are perfect with the Merry Mosaic and Peaceful Poinsettia dies. I layered the pinecones with gold and brown.  The card itself if framed with gold metallic and white glitter cardstock.  The background was dry embossed with a Darice Snowflake Flourish Embossing folder.  The Vintage Labels and Vintage Flourished Pattern dies are layered to frame the Merry Christmas die sentiment.  The white background is also dry embossed.  The corner is created with the corner from the Fancy Ornaments die.  The poinsettia is created with the flowers from the Peaceful Poinsettia and the leaves from the Merry Mosaic.

Origin of the Poinsettia:

There is an old Mexican legend about how Poinsettia's and Christmas come together, it goes like this:
There was once a poor Mexican girl called Pepita who had no present to give the the baby Jesus at the Christmas Eve Services. As Pepita walked to the chapel, sadly, her cousin Pedro tried to cheer her up.
'Pepita', he said "I'm sure that even the smallest gift, given by someone who loves him will make Jesus Happy."
Pepita didn't know what she could give, so she picked a small handful of weeds from the roadside and made them into a a small bouquet. She felt embarrassed because she could only give this small present to Jesus. As she walked through the chapel to the altar, she remembered what Pedro had said. She began to feel better, knelt down and put the bouquet at the bottom of the nativity scene. Suddenly, the bouquet of weeds burst into bright red flowers, and everyone who saw them were sure they had seen a miracle. From that day on, the bright red flowers were known as the 'Flores de Noche Buena', or 'Flowers of the Holy Night'.
The shape of the poinsettia flower and leaves are sometimes thought as a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem which led the Wise Men to Jesus. The red colored leaves symbolize the blood of Christ. The white leaves represent his purity.
Verse Of the Day- The Gift of God's Son is of peace and a future.  God sent His son as a humble baby who would later deliver us from our Sins!!  Have you accepted His Grace?  It is not to be earned.  All you need to do is believe that you are sinner and He has died for you!! Surrender to Him.

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Hello, Friends!! I hope you are all doing well!!  As time keeps fleeting by so does my preparations for Christmas!!  It is hard to believe that in less than 2 months, Christmas will be here!!

I have made a gift card holder for this week's Double Embossing ODBDSLC260- Heat and Dry Embossing challenge at ODBD!!
I was inspired by a gift card holder I got from my dear friend, Grace, last Christmas.  I used a similar design with the pocket in the middle but added an additional pocket for my bookmark.

our daily Bread designs, trimming trio dies, Bookmark dies, snowflake background, Delightful Decorations, Peaceful Deer, Antique Labels, Leafy Edged Border, designed by Chris Olsen
Here are individual pictures with more of a close up:

Front created with embossed blue snowflakes using the ODBD Snowflake Background, Delightful Decorations stamps and coordinating Die, as well as the ODBD Circle Ornaments dies.  The circle was dry embossed with  a Darice Lattice Embossing folder.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Tree Trimming Trio Die, Bookmark die, Delightful Decorations die, Delightful decorations stamps, Circle ornaments dies, Snowflake background stamps, Designed by Chris Olsen

This is the inside with the pocket in the middle sticking out so you can see the back and front of the inside pages.  It uses the Snowflake Background for the snowflakes you see on the background as well as on the bookmark.  The bookmark is embossed with holographic embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Deer Stamp set recently released.  It is cut out and matted using the Antique Labels die.  The pocket is created using the Leafy Edged Border die.  The pocket itself is dry embossed.

The bookmark is created using the Bookmark die at ODBD using silver metallic paper.  The snowflakes are created with the Snowflake Background.  The entire background is embossed in holographic glitter so it really sparkles in real life.  The ornament at the top is created with the Tree Trimming Trio die.

Hello, friends!! I hope you are all enjoying the week and all is well!!  Time certainly seems to be fleeting and fall is definitely here, you can just feel it in the air and the mornings are colder and darker!!

Today I am popping it to share another card that I made for the inspiration challenge at ODBD....a Christmas card that I really had a fun time creating with my ODBD ornament stamps and dies.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Elegant Embellishments, Christmas Carols, Snowflake background; ODBD Dies: Elegant Embellishments, Flourished Star Pattern, Elegant Ovals, Stitched Ovals, Ovals, Splendorous Stars, Designed by Chris Olsen

Our Daily Bread Designs Card Recipe:
Stamps: Elegant Embellishments, Christmas Carols, Snowflake background
Dies: Elegant Embellishments, Flourished Star Pattern, Elegant Ovals, Stitched Ovals, Ovals, Splendorous Stars

This card is just full of glimmer and sparkle as the ornaments are embossed in gold or holographic glitter and then the embossing resist technique was used. They are created using the Elegant Embellishments stamps and  Elegant Embellishments dies. The white background is cut from glitter paper using the Flourished Star Pattern and just sparkles in real life.  I just love the blue, gold and white together. The gold behind the Flourished star pattern is dry embossed as well.
