St. Patrick's Day Tree Hugger

Hey Everyone!!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! I am excited! I have my green hair, my green Guinness bead necklace the lovely manager at Flanigan's gave me last weekend and my nails are done. We got some shamrock cookies and Darby O'Gill and the Little People dvd ready to go for tonight.

Since I have six manis left to show you I think we will try and do two posts today. I don't have the mani I am actually wearing today ready to post yet but I will try and get it ready for tomorrow.

For this mani I started with Wet N Wild Tree Hugger from the Silverlake Collection. It is a really pretty mint green creme.

I used three coats of Tree Hugger for the base.

I remembered I had some Lucky Star Style decals for St. Patrick's Day. I also just realized that they have a pretty cool new website and I think I need to order some new decals.

For the other two designs I created some stamper decals using the image from Bundle Monster Holiday plate BM-H04.

I colored in some of the shamrocks with Revlon Posh and Holographic Pearls.

I was a little impatient in waiting for them to dry so some of the nails have wrinkles but I really loved this mani! So green and fun.

That's all for now :)

Sinful Colors Skylark Valentine

Hey Everyone!!! Is it Friday yet? Work has been so slow. Our theory is that it is due to all the snow and wonders of winter keeping people from working. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't last long. The quiet makes me want to nap.

Today I am finally finishing up the Valentine's Day manis. I did this mani as well as the next one with MoYou Festive Plate #20 that I won from a giveaway. I don't win things very often so I was super stoked to have won this plate. Even more so because I love hearts and I had my eye on this one when it was released. The awesome Karolyn from Nails of Aquarius, which is who held the giveaway, made sure the prizes were received in time to do Valentine's nails and I was able to do two manis with the plate before Valentine's Day. So exciting. You should definitely check her blog out or check her out on Facebook here.

Since I was really over red by this point I decided to go with a little bit of a different twist. I used Sinful Colors Skylark for the base. This polish pretty much freaked my camera out.

It was really hard to get an accurate picture of the base alone. It is more accurate in the pictures with the stamping but I wanted to try and show what the base color was anyway.

I used Festive 20 and LA Colors Vampy to stamp the rose pattern on my index and pinky nails and the balloons on my middle finger. I stamped over the middle finger with a white but wasn't really thrilled with it so I only did it on my left hand.

I made a stamper decal and colored in the little envelops and hearts for my accent nail. If I had more time I would have made the whole mani that cute envelope image. Since I didn't think I was going to get too many manis in before Valentine's Day I used a few images for this mani. Luckily I don't think it came out too busy.

I had a little issue with my decals because I didn't quite let them dry enough then of course my top coat smeared them. I thought it was still cute though.

I have no idea why I only took one picture of the hand without the Happy Valentine's Day stamped on it but apparently I did.

That's all for now :)

Monkeys

Hey Everyone!!! Well, my stomach is feeling much better this week. T is doing better but we still don't have his test results because the doctor's office claims the results haven't been sent and the radiology place claims they sent them. Supposedly they sent them again so we will see. I was quite annoyed earlier when I was put on hold for 10 minutes and shuffled around only to be told there are no results and I have to call the radiology place. Glad it is their job to give me my results. So very annoyed.

Today I have a fun stamped mani I did for my brother's visit in July. Long standing joke was that I use to tell him he was from a monkey farm so I often give him monkey stuff. I figured a monkey mani would be perfect. The top coat did smear my stamping which angered me.

I used Dashica Infinity Plate 02 for the stamping. I love these little monkeys.

The plate stamped perfectly every time. It is nicely etched and a breeze to work with. I love Dashica plates and the new Infinity plates are awesome. She has more plates being released soon and I am excited to see what new designs she has coming out.

I can't tell you all the colors I used because I mixed a lot of colors together to get the perfect shade. I was not very pleased that the top coat smeared the stamping. I had made stamping decals and I floated the top coat but it didn't much help.

That's all for now :)

Huckleberry Pie Baby

Hey Everyone!! Well, I think the germs have caught me! My throat is not happy today. I am hoping that I don't get the full blown cold but it isn't looking good right now. I have a date with some more hot salt water in another half an hour. On a very exciting note I went from 23 likes on Facebook yesterday to 329 current likes. I am so excited. For those of you that went over there and liked the page THANK YOU!! So excited. I was beginning to think I was pretty much just talking to my friends who I guilted into liking the page. I am not about the numbers in any way since I really want people to follow and read because they like what they see but it was pretty cool to see the numbers go up.

Today we continue on with Smitten Polish week. I did some nail art with this mani to celebrate the birth of the gorgeous Olivia Rae who is absolutely adorable and I can't wait to meet. She is so cute and both mommy and baby are healthy and doing well.

I used Smitten Polish Huckleberry Pie as a base for the mani. This polish was from the inaugural Smitten Polish Nommy Noms Collection.

Huckleberry Pie has a milky purple lilac base with blue and purple glitter.

I used the baby designs from Bundle Monster plates BM-H21 and BM-307. I stamped with Zoya Mira, Wet N Wild Black and China Glaze Astro-Hot.

Here is a quick glance at Huckleberry Pie without stamping. I used three coats for this mani.

In honor of little Miss Olivia I stamped the bottle and pacifier patterns with Zoya Mira. I used black for the teddy bear and filled in the blocks with Astro-Hot.

I added this picture because it cracked me up. I had just put some cuticle balm on my nails and forgot to rub it in before taking the picture. Duh for me. Instead of nice smooth cuticles they have chunky goop on them.

I made a stamping decal with the block design. I stamped the design on a stamper then filled in the blocks before top coating and putting it on my nails. Unfortunately I messed up the letters a little on this one.

I really love the color of this polish, it is soft and pretty and the blue glitter pops against the purple.

I was able to get some sun shots today.

I didn't catch any of the holo from Astro-Hot because I used it on such a small area.

I like this mani, I almost want to keep it on except I have my next Smitten picked out and I am excited to finally wear that one too.

I think I need to go seek out a throat lozenge now that my salt water has worn off. I am really annoyed that I went to the doctor last Friday and got antibiotics for a throat infection that hasn't really bothered me until now. I do NOT want to go to the doctor again.

That's all for now :)

Mexican Nails

Hey Everyone!! It is finally Friday which is my friend. I have a throat infection which is not my friend. I will probably make this one short because I really just want to go relax on the couch. Last night I had dinner at a Mexican Restaurant with my PE teacher who now teaches my son PE. Crazy huh? I babysat her kids who are now 21 and 18 and now she is teaching my 15 year old. It is crazy. Since I wanted to be festive for the event I went with a Mexican theme on the nail art.

I used several colors for this mani. All of them were Essie except the black I used for stamping. To start off I used two coats of Marshmallow for the base. I then sponged Shorty Pants, Orange it's Obvious, Shake Your $$ Maker and an unlabeled mini red polish on as background.

I used black polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-H24 from the holiday plate set for the stamping. I stamped the maracas and the chili pepper design and made stamping decals for the sombreros.

I used Shorty Pants and Orange, it's Obvious to fill in the decals. I actually had green sombreros on my thumb but I didn't get a picture of those.

I thought it was a pretty festive mani but the base was a little darker than I had thought and I wasn't able to use the cactus image so that was a bummer. I will have to use that one another time.

I still have this mani on today since I got home too late to change my mani last night. I still love it. Nice and festive.

I doubt I will be going to Mexico anytime soon but I am going to have to find a reason to do Mexican nails again.

I was surprised I had enough Essie colors to pull this one off. I had taken a blue out as well but it didn't make it's way into the mani.

Ew, I just remembered I am supposed to gargle with salt water. yuck.

That's all for now :)

Thanksgiving Manis

Hey Everyone!! Again!! I am wrapping up my fall manis so we can move into Winter manis. Today I am combining the last two of the week.

First up is my actual Thanksgiving mani.

I started with a base of Finger Paints Bare No Secrets then Oopsie Daisies Apple Picking on top.

I used various different colors for the stamping. I used Bundle Monster plates BM-H12 and BM-H13 for the stamping.

The Indian head piece came out better on this hand because I painted the feathers properly. I didn't realize that until much later.

My Pinterest turkey cake balls failed so I ended up with these.

Still cute.

Especially when I packed some in this little container.

My other Fall mani included Snoopy which I love.

I used a base of Elevation Polish Street Side, NYC on my middle and ring finger.

I used Girly Bits Black Eyed Susan on my index and pinky.

This is Street Side, NYC on it's own. Such a cool color.

I made a stamping decal with Bundle Monster Plate BM-H11 of the pumpkin and used China Glaze Riveting to fill the pumpkin in. I used my Snoopy Scarecrow waterslide decal from LuckyStarStyle to round out my Fall look.

That's all for now :)
