Wrestlemania Nails

Hey Everyone!!! Happy Friday! I love Friday. I don't have much planned for the weekend but I am hoping to work on some new polish jewelry pieces. Other than that I have nothing. It is a pretty boring week. Today is take your child to work day, however, mine is finally at the age where he would rather go to school because he knows he won't be doing anything there. Ah how I miss little ones.

Today's mani is something I did at the end of last month for Wrestlemania. We watch it every year and this year I remembered I have a plate with the logo and so I had to do a mani for it.

For the base I went with a simple black and gold gradient. We were watching the Hall of Fame ceremony when I did this mani so I was thinking fancy with the black and gold I guess.

I did a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black then kind of dabbed the gold on. I probably should have used a sponge for a better effect but I couldn't remember where I had put them and I was too lazy to go find them. The gold is Milani Milan from their Fierce Foil Collection. I really love the look of this gold for some reason. It is kind of a flakey glitter which makes it fun to use for gradients.

I used Fab Ur Nails plate FUN 11 for the image. I have had this plate for quite awhile and never remember that this image is on there. I used Konad White stamping polish with Mundo De Unas Reddish. I love how this mani came out and even C showed more interest in it than his usual half paying attention nod.

That's all for now :)

Easter Nails

Hey Everyone!!! I hope everyone who celebrates had a nice Easter, Passover and whatever else you celebrated this past weekend. We didn't do much but it was a nice relaxing weekend with good food. I only managed to do one Easter mani this year. I have no idea why but I was just not feeling the festive Easter spirit and I was lazy. At least the one mani I did do was cute.

I started the mani off with a 3 coat base of Wet N Wild in Wear Skinny Jeans. This is from their Silver Lake Collection. The collection is supposed to be Hipster cool but the display makes it look like a throwback to the 1990's 90210 cool era. I absolutely love these colors though and pretty much acquired all of them except the pink one.

I used Sinful Flight to See which is more of an opalescent top coat to stamp the chevron pattern. I used Bundle Monster plate BM-423 from the 2013 Create Your Own set. The chevrons were nice and subtle which I liked.

For the bunny and carrot I used MoYou London Princess 09. I used various other polishes to color in and put some glitter on the images.

I really liked this mani and kept it on for a couple of days but that is where the Easter stopped. I spent most of the weekend with naked nails which is just unheard of. I had a few breaks too which damned my spirits. I hate when my nails grow and bit then all break. It happens all the time so I am somewhat used to it but I still hate it.

That's all for now :)

Shore Enuff Shamrockin'

Hey Everyone! March is coming to an end. I can't believe we are already heading into April. Where does the time go? I am going to quickly and neatly wrap up March with a couple of posts of the two St. Patrick's Day manis I hadn't posted yet. Hopefully Easter nails will be more timely.

This one could technically be considered Spring though since the glitter is flower glitter and not shamrock or four leaf clover glitter.

I used three coats of China Glaze Shore Enuff for the base of this mani. I absolutely love how bright it is.

I put one coat of the dark version of Sinful Colors Shamrockin on top. This one is the same as the light version with the addition of little dark green glitter.

I think I might prefer this version but I am not sure yet. It is definitely a fun polish no matter what. I absolutely love that Sinful Colors used shaped glitter this year.

That's all for now :)

Orly Fresh with a Leprechaun

Hey Everyone. I think I need a nap. I am suddenly sleepy. It is pretty slow at work so that doesn't help all that much. At least it is almost Friday!

I am still catching up from St. Patrick's Day so today is another green mani.

For this mani I used a base of Orly Fresh. I love this green. It is bright and squishy and so fun. I used three coats for this mani.

To stamp I used Mundo de Unas #19 Bronze and Sinful Colors black polish. The black wasn't thick enough to be dark enough over the Bronze but I couldn't get my placement right to double stamp it.

You can see in the picture above where I tried to double stamp the Leprechaun.

I used Messy Mansion plate MM04 for the designs on this mani. It was fun and festive but I think my nails are a little too small for the knot work to show really nicely.

That's all for now :)

Posh and Shamrockin

Hey Everyone!!! St. Patrick's Day post #2!!!

I love, love, love this green!

I have had Revlon Posh hanging out in my stash for sometime now. I happened to just open a couple random drawers to pick some greens out and this was one of the ones I grabbed. I love this polish.

This is three easy coats of Posh. The formula was great and application easy. I could have done two coats but went with three just to make sure everything was even.

I really didn't want to do anything to cover up the creaminess of this polish. I don't know what it is about it but it looks rich and creamy and squishy all at the same time.

I decided to add Sinful Colors Shamrockin over Posh. It was a decision not made lightly.

This is one coat of Shamrockin' with the flowers fished out. They didn't always want to come out and then sometimes I would get two or three at once. I do love that Sinful Colors stepped up their glitter game with this polish. In typical Sinful Colors fashion however they also released two versions of the polish with the same name.

I searched high and low and finally found both versions. Ironically I found one store that ended up having both after I had only been finding this version, the light version. The difference between the light and dark version is the dark version has small dark green glitter in it whereas this light version does not. I will have a post of the dark version coming up tomorrow.

The fun thing about Shamrockin is that it can also be used as a nice Spring polish. I am really excited to see if Sinful Colors keeps coming out with polishes like this. I would really hope they don't keep releasing two versions of the same polish though.

That's all for now :)

Pistache Clovers

Hey Everyone!! I am going to have to make this quick so I can get it posted before I leave work. I don't know why I always wait until the last minute but I do. It has also been a pretty trying day so there is that.

Today I have a nice green mani for you using some Sinful Colors polishes I picked up on their last sale. I love Sinful Colors and can't help but try and collect them all.

I started with two coats of Pistache which is a really pretty green. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of Pistache alone. I don't know why but I didn't even think about it until after I had already topped it with one of the Opalescent toppers.

I put one coat of Bring it Sheer over Pistache which gave it a gorgeous shimmer.

It is hard to see the full effect of the shimmer but it is way prettier in person than in my pictures.

I used my recent acquisition Dream Girl plate 02 for the clover design.

The plate stamped really well and I was quite impressed with the quality. I love cheap thrills and this one was a pretty great price through a group buy.

I used China Glaze Out Like a Light for the stamping.

I love how the softer gray looks with this base color.

This is the first of several St. Patrick's Day manis that I have been doing. I pretty much am doing as many as I can before the 17th so you are in store for lots of green.

That's all for now :)

Sinful Colors Skylark Valentine

Hey Everyone!!! Is it Friday yet? Work has been so slow. Our theory is that it is due to all the snow and wonders of winter keeping people from working. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't last long. The quiet makes me want to nap.

Today I am finally finishing up the Valentine's Day manis. I did this mani as well as the next one with MoYou Festive Plate #20 that I won from a giveaway. I don't win things very often so I was super stoked to have won this plate. Even more so because I love hearts and I had my eye on this one when it was released. The awesome Karolyn from Nails of Aquarius, which is who held the giveaway, made sure the prizes were received in time to do Valentine's nails and I was able to do two manis with the plate before Valentine's Day. So exciting. You should definitely check her blog out or check her out on Facebook here.

Since I was really over red by this point I decided to go with a little bit of a different twist. I used Sinful Colors Skylark for the base. This polish pretty much freaked my camera out.

It was really hard to get an accurate picture of the base alone. It is more accurate in the pictures with the stamping but I wanted to try and show what the base color was anyway.

I used Festive 20 and LA Colors Vampy to stamp the rose pattern on my index and pinky nails and the balloons on my middle finger. I stamped over the middle finger with a white but wasn't really thrilled with it so I only did it on my left hand.

I made a stamper decal and colored in the little envelops and hearts for my accent nail. If I had more time I would have made the whole mani that cute envelope image. Since I didn't think I was going to get too many manis in before Valentine's Day I used a few images for this mani. Luckily I don't think it came out too busy.

I had a little issue with my decals because I didn't quite let them dry enough then of course my top coat smeared them. I thought it was still cute though.

I have no idea why I only took one picture of the hand without the Happy Valentine's Day stamped on it but apparently I did.

That's all for now :)

Sinful Colors Mesmerize and Love Sprinkles

Hey Everyone! What a week, what a week. I am glad it is Friday. I have yet another Valentine's Day mani for you. This one, at least, isn't over the top pink and red. I think I have two more but I might just post those two together. I still have to edit those pictures which will hopefully happen tomorrow.

One of the horrible issues in life of a blogger is when we have the sudden outbreak of bad cuticles. I must apologize in advance for the cuticles. I don't have any clue why but they all decided to revolt at the same time. I have three very angry cuticles but the show must go on. They aren't too gory but I am still self conscious about them.

This year the craze was all about Sinful Colors and their glitter polishes for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. I was able to track them down after some hunting which made me very happy. There is nothing like hunting for a polish and finally being able to get your hands on it.

I forgot to take a picture of the base alone. I used three coats of Sinful Colors Mesmerize for the base color. It is a very pretty dark purple/ blue color and the formula is great. Sometimes it looked very deep purple and sometimes it looked like a dark blue. I loved the color and could have gone with two coats. I am guessing it will stamp nicely too.

I used one coat of  Sinful Colors Love Sprinkles over top of Mesmerize. I used the glob and drag method to get the glitter spread out in a more evenly.

I didn't realize until a couple nails in that I didn't get any hearts out of the bottle when I was applying the glitter. I had to do a little bit of fishing but they weren't too hard to get out at all. I love this glitter polish because it is a mix of both light pink and white glitter. You can tell better in person than it shows up in the pictures. It is quite a fun, cute polish.

That's all for now :)

I am Back! Lots of Pictures Included!

Hey Everyone!!! I AM BACK!!! It was a nice break but I am finally back. Things have settled down for the most part so I am confident I can devote my attention to the blog again. My nails, however, have decided to be complete jerks and not cooperate. I decided to go forward and blog anyway. All of that will be explained in the next post. I figure I will start out with 2-3 posts a week instead of trying to do daily posts. I even got a little calendar to keep track of my manis so I can stay organized. When I was going through pictures on my camera I had forgotten what mani of the polishes I had used were. I decided I must write down everything from now on to keep myself from staring at the computer for 20 minutes trying to remember what I used. The great thing about my memory is that I eventually did remember all but one of the polishes I used in the pictures below. I wish I could say the same for the stamping images though.

Today I have some of the manis I have done over the past few months. My nails will be various lengths because some of the pictures are older than others. Shall we take a look?

Back at the beginning of football season I did this mani combining C's NY Giants and my Buffalo Bills. It didn't quite come out as well as I had wanted it to.

I wasn't thrilled with the gold stamping. It looked much nicer in my imagination.

Back when I was taking ds to the doctor all the time I saw this NYC Fashion Queen collection at one of my CVS stops. Since I was stressed and they were cheap I did a little retail therapy and bought the glitter polishes called Crystal Couture. I, of course, did not buy them all at once which tells you how many doctor trips we actually made.

The Blue one is called Blue Majesty and the purple is named My Princess.

I don't usually do gold but I actually really liked this one a lot. It is called Fashion Queen.

I decided that it reminded me of gold coins and pirates plus I just really wanted to use a skull image so I stamped one on as an accent.

I used Sugar Bubbles stamping plate 008 for this cute skull.

Queen's Jewels is the green color for this collection and I love it!

I decided to do an accent nail with another recently acquired polish Sinful Colors Cauldron Couture.

This was the only bottle shot I took for some reason. I have no idea why I do the things I do.

The red from the Fashion Queen Collection also caught my attention despite it not being my favorite color.

The red one is pretty pink but I still loved the vibrant juicy color. It is called Ruby Queen.

I had done a few gel manis as well to help my nails grow a bit. I figured the protection of the gel mani would help keep them going.

For this gel mani I used Gelish Race you to the Bottom.

My nails were pretty damaged so the gel manis didn't wear quite as good as I would have liked. I hate when one or two nails ruin it for the whole mani!

This mani was the one that I could not remember at all. I finally remembered that the base color was one of the Fall Limited Edition Wet N Wild Megalast Matte polishes but I still am not positive what the glitter accent is.

The Wet N Wild is called Distressed to Impress. I love the color of this one oh so much! I believe the glitter is a Sinful Colors glitter but I am not 100% positive on that one.

That's all for now :)
