Candy Coated Mojitos

Hey Everyone!!! Another early day for me!!! I am excited. I came home, ate my lunch and played with some polish jewelry I am making. By played I really mean glued it together and took pictures. I have a bunch of crochet projects to catch up on but I am not really motivated to do them. I kinda just want to take a nap and be lazy lol.

Today I have a nice Spring time mani for you.

I started with a base of Essie Mojito Madness from the Summer 2012 Bikini So Teeny Collection. I am happy to report that the formula and application on this one was fine so not all Essie polishes hate me lol

I then did a coat of Essence We are All Bright from the Spring 2012 Season of Extremes Collection. I made it a funky french type mani by leaving the tips with just Mojito Madness.

I then I used Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth from the 2013 Sugar Rush Collection and striping tape to do the purple lines.

I honestly was going to do all the nails with lines but I did that part the next morning and didn't have enough time to do all my nails. I had to leave for work and thought that with just two done it looked kinda cool so I left it like that.

The Essence shimmer is really pretty. I actually thought of putting that on later when I was looking through my polishes for something to spice Mojito Madness up with. It was close to the green that comes in the duo so I knew it would work.

Sweet Tooth matches the shimmer perfectly!

Word of advice, do NOT play guitar with not completely dried nails. The dings that you see, especially in that middle finger nail, are because I was playing guitar before the polish dried all the way through. I am inpatient what can I say.

I am going to have to do another Easter mani tonight. I decided against a March Madness mani because I haven't done one yet and df is all superstitious about that type of stuff. If I do one and they loose I will NEVER hear the end of it.

That's all for now :)

Little Bunnies

Hey Everyone!!! I am going to make the chatter on this quick since I want to run up to the store. My car decided to overheat Monday which just sent the last couple days into crazy stress mode. Luckily the car is fixed, though it was expensive. I am so ready for the week to be over just so I can relax.

First up is a my last Gelish mani.

I wanted to do something Spring like so I chose Artsyfartsy Crafts glitter in Faerie Wing.

Faerie Wing is a gorgeous green that reminds me of Tinkerbell.

This time I used Gelish Ambience as the base and used Faerie Wing for the tips. Unfortunately Faerie Wing is really light and I think the slight pink of Ambience made the shade of Faerie Wing a little bit off. You can still see the soft green shade though.

Next time I will try Faerie Wing over a solid color just so I can see more of the green. I really think this is mani subtle and pretty.

I of course didn't leave it on too long before doing my next mani.

I used the Essence Blossoms etc polishes from Spring 2011 for this mani. The polishes from left to right are Bloom a Loom, My Yellow Fellow, A Hint of Mint, I Like and Forget Me Not.

I did skittles with all the polishes and then used the color on the previous nail to make dots.

I used the bunny image on plate BM-302 and stamped with Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris.

This bunny looks angry.

I am not used to doing skittles but having each nail a different color was kind of fun.

I didn't wait long enough on my left hand and some of the bunnies smeared a little.

It was a fun festive mani and the only one I have done this week that is for Easter. I need to get with the program and do some manis before Easter is over.

That's all for now :)

Don't Feed the Tiger

Hey Everyone!  Sorry I skipped yesterday. I think I have either pulled something or I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and last night it was hurting. After using the heating pad for awhile I figured I would start a gel mani in hopes I would start feeling better. I did start feeling better since I had changed the way I was sitting BUT the gel mani took way too long and by the time I was done I was too tired to blog. The mani came out pretty nice but I definitely need a new area to do my gel manis in because the lighting was awful.

Today I have a mani to show you that I did for New Years. I don't do gold often and figure New Years was the time to do it.

I had a gel mani base of IBD Aphrodite on already and painted over it.

This was three coats of Aphrodite.

It was nice and sparkly, perfect to do gold over.

I used Essence Don't Feed the Tiger from their Circus Circus collection. It is a duo polish with gold on one side and black square glitter on the other. I had a duh moment and forgot to take a picture of  the polish.

I LOVE this combo. I love the glitter too and honestly the gold is not so gold that it is the type of gold I don't wear. This polish is a complete WIN!

I did more of a gradient with the gold. I didn't go all the way down to my cuticles so you can see Aphrodite peeking out.

I LOVE black glitter and I didn't realize until I started painting that this was square glitter. BONUS! I wanted to do a reverse gradient with the glitter and have it thicker at the base then thinning out toward the tips.

I didn't quite accomplish it completely because the square glitter was sparse and not the right type of glitter for what I envisioned but I LOVE the way it came out.

I love that my camera can take these close up shots! SO AWESOME!!

AND I introduce you to my snowman clan.

I don't remember if I showed them before but I LOVE THEM so I am showing them again. Most of them have flown to their new homes already.

That's all for now :)

Last Call at the Crow Bar

Hey Everyone! I am laughing so hard right now! Zakk Wylde is hilarious! We are watching That Metal Show which is funny anyway. Ok back to nail polish, sorry I am distracted lol.

For this next CrowsToes Halloween polish I wanted to use a weird color for the base. I think I accomplished that when I chose this Essence polish.

Essence High Spirits. I got this baby on clearance at Ulta.

I love the shade but it looks somewhat frosty. It has a shimmer as you can see in the photo above. I don't hate it but I don't know if I love it yet. I will try it again someday. Sorry about the cleanup but I was in a rush to get the Crows on my nails.

I put one coat of Last call at the Crow Bar on top of High Spirits.

Last call at the Crow Bar is a mixture of different glitters. This baby has AH MAZ ING yellow glitter in it that totally captured my attention. I love that yellow glitter. It also has bar glitter in it.

Can you see that yellow in there? OMG I LOVE the yellow.

This was one dabbing, swiping coat.

I am not completely into multi colored glitter for some reason. All those Happy Birthday type polishes don't do much for me but this one does.

I like that it has darker glitter in there, I think that is what makes me like this multi color glitter most.

I also LOVE the yellow glitter lol.

This was really hard to capture on camera. It looks WAY cooler in person.

It is super shiny and glitterific and I totally love it.

I think next time I will try it over a different color I just can't figure out which color lol.

That's all for now :)

Paws and Dogs

Hey Everyone! I am multitasking right now :) I have my Fantasy Football draft going as well as my brother's lap top equipped with his draft. I am essentially drafting both of our teams because he couldn't do it tonight. I was also editing pictures and now writing this blog at the same time. AND I am having a text conversation with a friend. I am also trying to guide my son toward making his Language Arts assignment make sense because right now he is way out in left field. It is quite hectic lol. There are not enough hours in the day.

Today I have for you a semi review and mani using water slide decals. I was searching ebay for some nail art and came across a store with different water decals. I had a great idea for greyhound manis but that breed was not listed in the dog section. I emailed the seller and Lori responded very quickly with several different images for me to chose from. I actually ended up choosing 3 different images but today I am going to show you one.

I ordered the decals from Lucky Star Style. They are $1.80 per set with free shipping. So far their customer service has been excellent and I have ordered twice. I will have a better review for you in a few days. As you will see my first attempt at using these had some issues.

I used the paw print from this Essence stamping plate.

I used a base of Revlon Hazy and stamped the paw prints in Orly Prince Charming. I used two coats of Hazy.

My placement for both the stamping and the decals was a little off. As you can see the poor doggie on my index finger was almost beheaded.

I love the color combination with the paw prints and the dogs.

I had some issue with the decals wrinkling. It was quite upsetting. I emailed Lori and she so kindly suggested I use less water when I am putting the decals on. Apparently drowning them is not recommended.

I used Poshe because it is nice and thick and I thought it would cover the decals nicely. I used two coats but it didn't help. Unfortunately the wrinkling caused it to not be real flat. Once again user error and this didn't happen on the next attempt.

There was definitely a learning curve for me regarding application. I went through a few extra decals because my first attempt was so awful I had to take it off and try again. This was my second attempt in an hour. I also didn't let my polish dry enough. I was so excited to use them I couldn't wait for polish to dry.

This is my Midget. She is my older dog. We just found out that she has cancer :( She goes for another exam on Tuesday. Please keep her in your thoughts.

And here is Mr. Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior. He is staring at the bf ready to jump at him.

That's all for now :)
