Lighting the World Blue

Hey Everyone!!! Today is a special day and I wanted to do something special for it. April 2, 2012 is the fifth  annual World Autism Awareness Day. I wanted to show my support by wearing blue nail polish today and throughout the month of April which is Autism Awareness Month. I know a few people with autistic children and I know a few people that are married to someone with autism so this was something that is pretty important. Many people are showing their support by putting a blue light on their porch. I am pretty much always running behind on things so I don't have a blue light up yet but I am going to try and get that up sometime this week.

I actually just changed my mani to a pretty blue mani but the pictures aren't ready for you so I am going to show you a recent blue mani. I received this polish from my secret bunny and wore it immediately because I LOVE BLUE! lol It is a gorgeous polish and fit the blue theme.

Y.C.C. polish # 122. I tried looking it up to find some information on the brand but best I can tell is it is from the UK and it is gorgeous. It is a deep royal blue holo polish.

The polish is gorgeous. The holo is not crazy strong but it is gorgeous and it doesn't hide, even indoors. I LOVE this polish. I want more from this brand because the formula was great!

This was two coats. I am so impressed by this polish. I have another green shade that I can not wait to try. I was trying to find some of these on the bay of evil but haven't had a chance to really search.

I used a Sally Hansen Color Quick Chrome Pen in Chrome Green to stamp the butterflies. I used plate B70 for the butterfly image.

I always have an issue figuring out what to do with the single images on the stamping plates. I also have an issue lining up the images to match lol. The butterflies at least have a built in excuse for being all over the place. They are flying.

I really am loving the color of this polish. I am slightly all about blue.

The blue polish is also significant for another reason. One of the members of our nail polish community is using blue nail polish to remember her sister who's favorite color was blue. This month not only will the blue be worn to bring awareness for autism but also in memory and as a tribute to her.

And a quick picture of my owl that I crocheted recently.

His head is a little crooked but he is a cute little owl.

That's all for now :)

The Jungle Look has Roses

Hey Everyone!!! I am super tired tonight. Once again the computer got stolen from me and I just got it back. This morning I used the time before I had to go to work to check out a new to me beauty supply store instead of editing my pictures and getting them in blogger. If I get the pictures in blogger I can usually post during work but if not I have to wait for home because I don't have the pictures at work. At least I got the beauty supply place checked out.

It was a really large store that I have passed several times but when I looked at the website I was under the impression it just had large items like salon furniture. It was HUGE inside and they had tons of polish. Mostly OPI and Essie with a small area of Orly. I am spoiled now between coupons at Ulta, promos and etailers that sell below retail so when I saw the prices were just a penny below retail I was slightly disappointed. They did have tons of stuff though including the Miss Universe Collection and the mini OPI Halloween polishes. Unfortunately they didn't have the regular size bottles which I really want. They had a display of Touring America that was under a plexiglass box but none out for purchase. They also had the Essie Fall display and I did see all six colors. Because I am spoiled on prices and deals I didn't pick anything up. I might go back for Swimsuit Nailed It because I haven't seen the display in the wild other than at the special Walgreens where they charge $9.99 for an OPI.

Today I have Ulta The Jungle Look for you. The formula is pretty nice on this one and I used two coats. The first coat was a little streaky but nothing major.

I used the rose image on B70 to stamp with Orly Shine and China Glaze Urban Night.

I started with Shine but didn't like the placement of the roses so I did Urban Night roses as well.

I was not thrilled with the stamping but I do like The Jungle Look a lot.

I couldn't wait to get this mani off.

This was the beginning of the end for my poor nails. They are down to nubs now :(

I am exhausted today. Mr. Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior thinks that 4 am is now wake up time. He does not believe in sleeping in. He is up again with the bf at 5:30 and doesn't want me to go back to sleep then either. Not sure what the deal is with his new early schedule but it is like having a baby that shifts it's sleeping patterns.

That's all for now :)

Yasmeen, Trixie and Swatchscicles

Hey Everyone! What a day! I thought work was rough since I spent most of the day without air conditioning because I was printing up some stuff. I had the ac in the office set to 90 degrees and it STILL turned on so it was pretty hot! The bf got the ticket for his fender bender because he was not allowed to make a left turn at the place he did. It would not have been his fault otherwise. There is no sign or markings that indicate no left turn so he will be fighting it in court. Luckily no one was hurt and that is the important part. Unfortunately his bumper is pretty messed up as are his headlights. The one that actually got hit by the other car is obviously dead but the bumper was pushed up and messed up the other one. I am mentally exhausted at this point.

I finally got the pictures edited and have them ready for you. I have not only a nail of the day but I also have an update on my organizing project and a cute Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior picture.

I used Zoya Yasmeen as a base and Trixie for stamping. I used two coats of Yasmeen.

I used my Shany plate B70 for stamping. I used the center butterfly image.

Yasmeen is a really pretty color. I actually ordered it mostly for the name. My cousin named one of her daughters Yasmeen and so I had to get it. I love the color though and am quite glad I got it. I have to actually tell her about the polish next time I talk to her.

As usual with Zoya I had no issues with application at all.

Something about this polish is just stunning. I don't know if it is the shine or the color or depth but I was pretty impressed with the fact that it kept catching my attention.

Trixie was awesome to stamp with. The color is so bright and made the image really clear. This might be my go to silver stamping polish.

I was working on my swatchscicles today at work and I don't know if it was all the tape or the process but I got a chip really early on in the day. I also noticed my thumb nail is trying to break along the side. SIGH. I should not have said anything about my nails getting long.

This is my ButterBeer Mug O Swatchscicles.

Last night I was able to get my fourth drawer of my helmer on my spreadsheet. While I had it out I decided to swatch all of my Zoyas. I have 32. This morning I took all the swatchscicles I had made to this point to work and made little labels for them because my writing wasn't the best. I actually just printed it all on a sheet of paper and cut them out and then taped them to the stick. It was a lot of work but I like the way it came out. I only have 65 polishes swatched so far. I have quite a ways to go lol.

These are some that I had swatched previously. Catherine Arleys, OPIs, P2s, Eyeko, Sally Hansen and Teeez.

Others I had swatched. ArtDeco, Golden Rose, Nubar, Catrice, Essence.

And all of the Zoyas together.

Last but not least a picture of Bruce coming after my hand because Bruce pictures cheer me up :)

That's all for now :)
