A Christmas Eve story from 2022 that I am pretty sure I never shared.
My husband came home that evening from a short walk and said he found something for me ...
and this was the thing that he found on the ground and carried home.
First let me say, I was actually rather shocked that he actually picked it up and brought it home. :) And, of course, I was angry that someone had just tossed this poor little aquatic turtle into the street without a second thought.
I named him Tutu and he's been with us nearly 3 years now. He used to fit in the palm of my hand, but has obviously grown a lot.

On March 13, 2018 I rescued a tortoise from the backside of our neighborhood that I carried all the way home, named him Tofu, and he is still with us.
On May 30th, he went into hibernation and this picture was taken on the day he woke up, October 25th.
Never, ever did I expect to have even one turtle in my life and now I have two.
But they're not as cuddly as you know who. :)

What a sweet story, and a very handsome Tutu. Of course who could not love your cat. Noticed we have another cat sleeping in the balcony chair.
Tutu grew very quickly, he must have a great diet from you. Plus your other turtle and kitty are cute also.
Ah Tutu is so sweet... I was 8 and owned a water-turtle as pet. I loved him and took great care of him. My parents took it one day from me and said "this turtle should be in nature" and let him out in a river bench... To be honest i didnt think he would survive and up to this day I am thinking and blaming myself not to protest :,( I had and have many animals, survived them from streets, from petshops, from bad owners but I still feel bad for my turtle.... I still dont understand my parents...
By the way, about the other turtle, is that a mistake that he hibernate from May to October?? Wouldnt they do the reverse? The winter months? I am confused....
OH How cute they are! 😊 So nice of him to bring them home. Now you two have to get very old because I"ve heard that turtles can be around 100 years old... 🥴? Rosie is beautiful and the photo of her is awesome! 🌹
