Daily December 10

Next to our favorite Indian restaurant in the city there is a hotel/business tower that also has a mall and cinema.  We sometimes go there after having lunch if I want something from Lush or to check out the bookstore, and at times there's even a small art installation to check out which is always a nice surprise.

I actually took these photos in September of last year but never shared them anywhere and since they are just taking up space on my phone, I figured I'd post them here for your viewing pleasure and as a celebration of handicrafts.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Daily December 9

We did get our first rain of the season -- mostly just a light drizzle in the early morning hours.
Drab was the color and mood of the day.

What does your Tuesday look like?

Daily December 8

 Another overcast day.
There's a possibility of rain over the next several days.
Susanna has an appointment tomorrow morning so switched our meet-up to today.
I remembered to take a photo only after we had finished everything.  :)
Muka Muka doing what he does best while Susanna and I wound up talking for nearly 2 hours.  We normally work on some sort of craft while chatting but were content to just be there without doing anything extra.
Winter sunsets are the best because of the cloud coverage.

Hope your Monday is a good one.

Daily December 7

A Christmas Eve story from 2022 that I am pretty sure I never shared.

My husband came home that evening from a short walk and said he found something for me ...
and this was the thing that he found on the ground and carried home.
First let me say, I was actually rather shocked that he actually picked it up and brought it home.  :)  And, of course, I was angry that someone had just tossed this poor little aquatic turtle into the street without a second thought.

I named him Tutu and he's been with us nearly 3 years now.  He used to fit in the palm of my hand, but has obviously grown a lot.
April 2024.
September 2025

On March 13, 2018 I rescued a tortoise from the backside of our neighborhood that I carried all the way home, named him Tofu, and he is still with us.

On May 30th, he went into hibernation and this picture was taken on the day he woke up, October 25th.
Never, ever did I expect to have even one turtle in my life and now I have two.

But they're not as cuddly as you know who.  :)
Sunday blessings,

Daily December 6

Last Saturday was my craft group meet-up.
We meet every other Saturday at a different coffee shop or cafe and are now finally able to sit outside since the weather has gotten nicer.
.
So many people have moved away and others are traveling or busy this time of year so our numbers are much smaller, but we still enjoy our get togethers and always inspire each other.
Decided to just take a group photo of my purchases from yesterday.
I like how everything matches -- a painted dallah (Arabic coffee pot) by someone named Nasser in 1988, silver medallion with crochet trim and beads, colorful elephant storage box and Indian fabric purse.

Hope you're having a good day.

Daily December 5

It was a nice day for a morning outing.

We went to the secondhand market, Souk Juma'a (Friday Market) where there is clothing and household items, antiques and all manner of things.
I bought 4 decor pieces that I'll share once I decide where I'm going to put them.  Every day I clean a little, and change things up, move stuff around.  It's an ongoing process.

Hope your Friday is a good one.

Daily December 4

 My morning mug.
Harvested some tomatoes from my balcony garden today.
That's an eggplant in the back on the lower right.

And the cutest little watermelon is very slowly growing on my second balcony.
I made a cross-stitch gift for a friend whose birthday was last month, stitching tatreez designs representing foods.
The top design is a pattern used as a divider or border on a thobe (dress) in all areas of Palestine; the next design represents maya w bizr (water and seeds from Gaza); then bateekh (watermelon, all areas); and the last two are dhurah (ears of corn, all areas).

Did you know that when the United Nations tried to declare food as a human right, there were only 2 countries that voted against it?

Daily December 3

A festive cup of coffee ...
on a cloudy morn.
After a bit of bird watching, Rosie curls up next to me on the loveseat and tends to take up a lot of space.
A quick walk before stopping at the grocery store for a few things.
Sweet sparrows were enjoying a puddle of water at the walking path.
This house always has the prettiest garden all year long; mostly green foliage during the hot summer months but during the winter months it starts to come alive with color.  Lovely to see as I headed home.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Daily December 2

A very overcast day.
Susanna messaged that she'd be running just a bit late for our morning meet-up so I took a quick walk seaside.
There was a guy who had apparently just finished playing music/singing but I was drawn to his set-up because of the granny square blanket.  Too bad I missed out on the free concert.
I was happy to see that at the entrance to the corniche someone had set up a tube for feeding the stray kitties.  There are also volunteers who go there every day to feed and care for them.  Hope visitors don't mind kitties on the their cars.  :)
Decided to treat myself at our usual and favorite vegan cafe since I'd not had breakfast yet, so started off with a protein chk'n sandwich and lavender lemonade and then had coffee with pumpkin pie in a jar which was yummy.
If you are a crafter you may be familiar with forgetting certain supplies when changing tote bags or projects and that's exactly what happened with Susanna today.  I had my current cross-stitch project with me so worked on that.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a visit yesterday.  As you can see by the title of my posts, I am attempting to post every day in December.

See you tomorrow.
