Loving Whites, from the past

Here are a few of the little things I love.... from old posts.
little baby shoes, old buttons, and some of my tea bag roses.

And here is a finished baby shoe filled with tea bag roses.
You can also use baby shoes for nests...
(this link also has how to age a baby shoe.)

Here is some tea stained paper.
Tutorial HERE.

These are some bird nests my students made.
I wil be teaching more classes on these as it gets warmer outside.
So much easier outside....so messy. =)

This is a vignette of one of my hand created pin cushions using a candle holder,

(see the buttons in the bottom?)
and a bit of lace, with some baby shoes.

Vintage Pin Cushion

To do a simple pincushion:
I cut a circle of fabric, about twice as big as the 'thing'
I am using as a base.
Gather around edge of circle with a running stitch,
about 1/4" from outside edge.
pull almost tight.
Stuff with fiberfill, then pull rest of the way closed and knot.
Kind of shape it into an even little ball.
(need pics of the steps?
Let me know and I will do a little tutorial for you.)

use fabric tack glue to glue pin cushion on to base.
My 'base' was part of an old lamp. Fun huh??
You can really use just about anything for a pin cushion base.
The more unique the better, in my book.=)

Add a little pair of scissors,
and you are ready to go!!
I'm joining these two parties.

" Vintage" Baby Shoe Tutorial

One of them is how to take new baby shoes
and make them look aged.
Above is one I aged, then put my Tea Bag Roses in.
(Also a free tutorial on my side bar.) =)

They are just slightly scruffed up as I wanted them to be 'sweet' more than old.
I have also put my little bird nests in them as seen at beginning of post.
(tutorial for nests on side bar, too) =)

Go HERE for a tutorial on making new baby shoes look old.
See my side bar for other free tutorials, and enjoy.
Please be sure if you do any up to let me know.
I would love to see them and show my friends too.
(the first baby shoe pin cushion I did was an idea from Dawn, at
The Feathered Nest. She has great tutorials, too.)

I'm joing White Wedneday,
White Wednesday
and
(and did you see she featured my link up from last week??)

Thanks Angie & Kathleen for hosting each week!

Blessings all!!

Shabby White Delights

Love the aged white of vintage clothes.

This is another picutre from the new store
in Redmond Oregon.
Back Porch & Company.

Lisa has a real knack for putting things together.
(see more of her store HERE)

Here is an order I finished today.
It is a pin cushion using a clear glass
candle holder as a base.

It is hollow inside so I put in a few buttons.
(sorry, hard to see against the lace. Click to enlarge)
Here is a close up of the vintage doily on the top.

Hope you like it Karen. =)

And here is another bit of sweetness I finished last night.
oops sideways. sorry.
This is a little lavender sachet,
with one of my gauze flowers on it.
(a take off of the lace flowers)
tutorial for flowers HERE.
Tutorial for easy sachet coming soon.

Teacups and Glassware! How many???

This is 3 or more Tuesday, so
here are a bunch of 3 or mores.

I should have photographed these tea cup and saucer sets on white
so you could see the great wire edges better.
There is no writing on the bottoms, but I was told they are old,
and they are certainly unique.
Know anything about them?

oops!

And how about 3 or more......

second time around....

SHELVES
of glassware?
Thrifty finds, all of them.

These are mostly candle holders I buy for bases and crafting.

I showed you this yesterday, but
just in case you missed it,
It is one of the candlesticks made into a pin cushion.
It is hollow inside. See the buttons in it?
These are hard to find, but i have enough to make 3 more. =)

Oh, and of course a few cheese domes for cloches.
I have some fun bases for these,
in the other room.
And yes, of course, more than 3!

I'm joining these wonderful ladies, and many more.
Please go visit and see what they all have done.

Have a wonderful week.
