Fun Finds, Signs, and Rusty Hinges

Found these last week. Can you guess???
Yes, eye glasses. Old ones. Can can you believe a metal case?
I've never seen one like this before.
And what's in that cool little box????

 More eye glasses.
Broken, and seen better days, but cool anyway.
Any ideas what to do with the eye glass parts???
And what have we here? Totally boring, shiny mostly new hinges.
But I fixed 'em! Soaked them over night....
laid them out to dry....... and cooool rust!!! Ready for my project or yours.
Yes, I sell these and other rusty treasures.
Email or comment if interested.
And here are some Fall signs I stenciled on old fence boards....
And two little sections of my Fall display in the store.
Click if you would like to see them closer.
That's is all for this delightful Fall Monday.

Blessings everyone

Another Drill Bit Box???

Yes, I found another drill bit box.
I'm just lovin' these for display of watches.
This one is about 6" tall.
See my newest old pocket watches?
I LOVE these!!!
And an old compass, too.
Compass & some watches sold, but have more old watches)
This box was big enough to actually hang a watch.
I used an old rusty dusty magnetic hook to hang it.

And how do you like this for a magnet?
It's just an old rusty hinge.
Love the shape.
You don't even have to glue the magnet on.
They just all stick together.
(I'm making some jewelry using these hinges too.
I have to do something, I got a whole cigar box of them!)

Just got a couple of new old typewriters too.

Seems suddenly I am attracted to them, and old sewing machines.

Thanks for coming by.
Still having computer problems, but learning to use my sweet fellas laptop.

Locks, & Locks, & Other Fun Stuff

I hit the jackpot on locks awhile back.
But first. let's look at some other interesting hardware.

Like the thingies above. Not sure what they are for,
but the bend and you can make words out of them.

Some cool old hinges and a handle and back plate.
Here are the hinges.

Lots of them.
Big....

different...

a whole slew of them.

Green.....

red.... old and rusty, with keys, without.
Some VERY small. (that tiniest one is only 1/2"!!)
Some cool ones already attached to something.
(sold)

And when I was at Mamie Jane's last week
I saw this. It is a holder of sorts.

(Click below to see more)
Mamie Jane's.
(One of my most favorite places to visit these days)
and she links to
Laurel's Chipping With Charm
(who also has great ideas!)

So, I could not find my big hinges, but did come up
with this little photo holder:

It is just an oddly bent hinge, one of two.

Perfect for a little photo.
Or, how about his little odd shaped tin.
(does this look like Texas upside down?)
Add magnet and photo. instant photo holder.
I know, silly, but you know I like different!!
What do you think??

OK. Now,go get those boxes of hardware out and start creating!!
Be sure to let me know if you come up with some clever idea!

Blessings everyone!

Fun Finds Friday

An old "new" tea pot, or a new "old" tea pot?
Believe it or not, this is a fairly new tea pot.
Isn't it neat how they make them look old?

Here is a fun find.
Nine old metal drawer knobs.
I bagged them up for the store.
All 9 for $6.00!
I had fun going through my box of old hinges today.
Anyone else love old painty hinges like I do?

In the picutre below, I thought those little metal squares
with holes in them would be good pieces for on my art.
Maybe I can figure out how to engrave words in them.

And here are some odd pieces.
See the springs above?
On each end there is a metal plate (below)
with the words :Slip Seal Cinch".
Anyone know what they are for?
There is one of these at each end of the spring,
and those parts sticking up are pieces that
curve around and have sharp points on them.

Have no clue what I will use them for, but
thought they were cool and different.
That combination always ends up meaning
they are coming home with me. =)

Hope you all have a great weekend.
