"F" is for......

"F" is for
"Funky" old miter box.
I'm loving this!!!
I'll take the metal guide part off and use the rest for a display.
Hmmm, wonder what I can do with those metal parts?
Fabulous sewing machine cabinet....
turned shelf.
The grandpa added shelves to the part
of the cabinet a sewing machine set in.
Creative!!

"F" is for
Fancy........

Coffee grinder.

Another nest home?

How about a little pinkness in the Fun and games department?
First pink flashcards I have ever seen.
And Spill and Spell.
Love those dice with letters on them.

And, "F: is for....new frames.
Thinking I will leave them just as they are.
They will fit great in the new room at the store.
Would you change them? How?

Thanks for coming by

Shabby New Store

You are going to LOVE this new store we found,
while on vacation in Redmond, Oregon.
These are of pictures
"The Back Porch & Company".
It is located right on main street downtown.
In a 3 block area of town there
are about 6 wonderful stores.

Lisa Goads (on right) and 3 other gals have
put this wonderful shabby store together.
I could have stayed there all day!

family helpers
So, without a lot of talking on my part,
here we go!
Lisa is known for her 'angled' displays.

Please click to enlarge pictures.

Love how she hangs things in the picutre frames.
(sorry for plug ins. This was before she opened and
things were not done yet.)

She has a real knack for vignettes,
and so do the other gals.
See the steamer trunk on the left side of this picutre?
It now has a home in my store!!!

Not pictured is a 'back' room which has
old wood doors for walls and dividers.

Hope you have enjoyed your little tour.

If you have opportunity to get over to Redmond for the day,
it is well worth the trip.

Happy White Wednesday
and thanks to Kathleen for hosting.
Blessings

SUNDAY SHOPPING SECRETS
Sunday Shopping Secrets

I am so far behind showing you my great finds lately,
I may never get caught up!!

But, alas it's late,
so I have just chosen 3 for this today.

How about some picture frames.
(Like I don't have a few already). =0)
All these for $1.75

And this beautiful piece.
Wish I had a parlor to put it in.
But, since it is only doll size,
me having a parlor would not matter. =0)

And look at all these lovelies!!
8 mini shades,
2 glass candle holders,
set of three beautiful gold candle holders,
and that black mirror,
All for $7.00!!!!

Guess you know i was dancin' out of that sale.

And they were the nicest people.
Young woman was redecorating her home,
and her Mom was there helping with the sale.

I was in a hurry,
so I just made a pile of her reasonably
priced, lovely items.
They started adding and wrapping for me.
The total was $10, but she
decided to give me a deal
and only charged me $7.00!!
They were thrilled I was getting them.

They even helped me get them to the car!!!

A perfect way to end my sale time.

-------------------

OK. I was pondering some tips today.

1.Always find something nice to say
to whoever is having the sale.
It might be there yard, great signs,
nice hair do, neatness or sale or whatever.
This is not a buttering up,
but a kindness.
We all like to hear niece things.

2. Never complain about pricing,
or the quality of their things!
If there is a flaw, mention it, and
ask for a lower price.
But don't grumble if they don't lower it.

3.Always leave with a kind word and a smile.

Thanks for coming by.

Blessings,
Barbara Jean
