Loving What I Do

  New display in the fireplace.....

OK, ya gotta love a job where you get to shop all the time,
make cute displays, work with family, meet tons of nice people,
learn about old things, and give them a new life.
Perfect job. Right?
Even tho' there are always wrinkles to iron out,  with the help of my sweet fella,
my granddaughter, and my Mom, we manage to muddle thru it all.

I gather, my husband picks up big loot, my Mom helps clean all the 'stuff',
(and does lots of other 'jobs'),
and my granddaughter watches the store for me when I cannot.
(and helps keep the place clean). =)

We are a team...we work well together, and the work is fun,
because we are doing it together.

I am blessed, to have the store, to hang out with family,
and to meet other people when they come in.
Sometimes they come to shop, other times just to visit, or get a hug.
It is a wonderful little world, and I am grateful
to the Lord for each day I get to enjoy it.

Unique Way to Display Old Treasures

Here are some old treasures I found...
Thinking outside the box.....
Here is what I did with a piece of it.

Notice the green metal piece in first picture?
It is a shelf piece I think.
I turned it over and used back side.....

To put some unique display pieces in.

And the display around it.
(click twice to enlarge)

I just love it all!!!  =)

Thanks for visiting.

Tool Box Display

I got this huge tool box at a sale this summer....
My Mom cleans a lot of my stuff for me,
and when she set this up in the driveway to dry,
I got this instant idea!
It was a super display piece!

So I filled it with little treasures.....

close up of right side,

Closeup of left side and middle.

and wait! There's more.....

Here it is all dolled up for Christmas....

I'm lovin' this piece!!
Now, go out and find yourself an old rusty tool box
(the bigger the better)
and have fun!

Be blessed

"new" white treasures

new furniture pieces at the store.
This chippy old 3 drawer unit can be used as small dresser,
or a nightstand or end table.
Love how perfectly chippy it is.

This is a newer cottage piece.
Love the added trim on door, and up at corners.

not furniture, but small size ice-skates.
These are so cute on a sled, or tied to a window with wreath on it.

fun centerpiece idea:
old chippy wood lid,
with candle ring around old insulator.
(don't forget candle in insulator. battery operated best)

and this has only some white in it but wanted to show you.
We took another old organ apart,
(after we found out we could not get parts to fix it.)
We salvage the parts and use them to make other things.
This keyboard is a great wall decor,
or can be made into a shelf fairly easily.

We hung a wire basket over it and filled it with music and
other things,  and built a music display in the area.

Here is a picture of area just below it with
old violin, violin case, and flute case...

and here is pic of whole area.

thanks for visiting today.

New Bathroom Decor & More

Welcome to Blissful White Wednesday.
My fave place to be mid week.
Before the bathroom, wanted to show you this complete box of  bobbins I got.
Just love it....

still complete in box.
OK, now that bathroom....
At our little shop, we need to make good use of our space.
So, some time ago, we covered the bathtub with an old door,
and some old eyelet curtains, and made it into another 'space'.
Here is the latest display.

sweet little table, some scales, and my 'newest' mannequin.
Still tossing around names for her. Maybe Gertrude???
We'll see.

Here she is in all her glory....

I found this old lamp shade last weekend.
Just love it....old and torn, and it is so rotten....

it was easy to tear a bit more of it,
and let it be a new crow home....

When Fall is over, and if it does not sell,
will tear rest of cover off to reveal more of that perfectly
covered wire. I'll leave the trim on top and bottom.
another great 'cloche' for some of my treasures.

thanks for visiting.
Love Bleissful White Wednesday.
Check it out.

be blessed

Fall Display

Bits of Fall decor at the store.
Every year my crows come out to play.
What do you think of the new crow head on the right of the box?
It is part of a loom.
a few of my hand made pumpkins left...
love the old typewriter too.

tucking artificial fall 'greenery' livens up our display.
And all kinds of mysterious items hidden here and there.

this is an old charcoal lighter.
when they get hot you dump into your bar-b-q.
perfect for a floral bouquet.

that's all.
