New Area in the Cottage Room

We did some rearranging at the store.

Moved Ruby, my mannequin, from the French Room

 to the Cottage Room.

The small cabinet (made from a drawer unit with 3 of drawers replaced with shelves)

was also moved to the Cottage Room.

Fun to make changes, and I had 2 wonderful friends help me.

Display Ideas.....and new lock......

New little cubby display.

I LOVE cubbies.

 

Very cool old lock and two keys!!

No name of anything on it.

Sure do wonder where it was made and how much it is worth.

With no name or anything on it, not sure I would ever find out.

(Oh, did you see that little lock hole cover?

How cool is that?)

  

Here is the back.

 New corner display.

 A little display in an old wire basket.

I love wire baskets!!!

And here is a cute display on a dust pan.

use magnetic hooks or clips to hold an old pic on.

My pic blended in too much with background

so I put a hanky behind it.

Will find an old doily instead, as hanky is too stark and new looking. -)

I'm Loving the New Room!

I'm loving parts of the new room at the store.
(the parts that are 'done' that is.)
This is what you see when you step in the door.
(sorry for light from window.
I could not wait to take pictures to show you!

Steamer trunk, vintage clothes, shoes, frames,
and a great big satchel filled with treasures.

This is Ruby in her finest Victorian blouse.
I'll be making some jewelry for her soon.

Here is the sewing corner, under construction.
I have so much 'new' merchandise for this room
and not enough room to put it.
Well, room is big enough, just not practical display pieces.
I went for cute vignettes instead. ;-)

Love that huge picture hung on the shabby door.

This old desk is so cool.
All kinds of cubby holes to hide things.
I'm just starting on it.

Speaking of cubbies...

here is a little one on the wall.
So fun to fill them up with goodies.

Now, back to the chair.
The short and sweet of it??
It is a plastic lawn chair I made a cover for.
It took hours! But worth it for a little chair in the new room.
