Dat duurde.... That took long.....

Het is ook halfjaar geweest met veel ziekte en heel moe zijn.

Langzamerhand komt de zin aan bloggen weer terug....

Daar maak ik dan meteen even gebruik van.

It was a 6 month with a lot of sickness and being very tired.

But....slowly the need to blog returns...

And one has to use that.

Dus vandaag ben ik zo goed als beter van een vervelende griep 

en dan kun je lekker even spelen met Lotje (Elna-Lotus-SP).

Die ook zichtbaar geniet om even weer wat te doen!

Hier werken we aan scrap-hexagonnen "in het wild";

lekker van allemaal restjes!

So today I'm almost recovered from a nasty flue

and it's just fun to play with Lotje (Elna-Lotus-SP).

She enjoys working again as well!

Here we make scrap-hexagons "in the wild";

all scrappy!

En een boxje allemaal restjes....

(kan er niet toe komen zulke stukjes weg te gooien....)

And a box of scraps...

(can't get  myself to throw those little pieces away..)

En dit zijn ze dan samen.

Het moet natuurlijk nog wel wat groter worden;

quilts zijn  juist heerlijk om onder te liggen...

Ofcourse it has to grow a bit more;

quilts are just so great when you can snuggle under them...

Spinnewebjes....? Diamanten....? Spiderwebs...? Diamonds....?

Hoe zullen we ze nu noemen, he? 

Het zijn net spinnewebjes en je maakt ze eigenlijk van diamanten..... :)

Diamanten van papier dan eigenlijk, waar je allerlei leuke stofjes op naait.

Dan wel afvalstofjes......stukjes die over zijn van andere projekten.

Leuk om te zien hoeveel je kunt doen met dat "afval"....  ;)

How shall we call them, huh?

They are just like spiderwebs and you make them from diamonds..... :)

Diamonds made of papier actually, where you sew little strips of fabric on.

Left-over fabrics...... crumbs and pieces left over from other sewing-projects.

So much fun to see what you can do with all those "left-overs"... ;)

Elni (klik) had de diamanten voor mij gesneden. Zo lief!!

Samen zijn we dus aan het diamanten naaien..... ;)

Elni (click) cut the diamonds for me. So sweet!!

So we are sewing diamonds together..... ;)

En een beetje dichtbij, kun je zo mooi zien hoe al die punten bij elkaar komen.

And a bit closer, so you can see how all those points join together.

En nog ééntje van boven genomen.

Je legt de diamanten dus in een hexagon met de ronde strip in het midden met de smalle of de bredere kant aan elkaar.

You put the diamonds together in a hexagon-shape, attached to the other diamond on the small or wider side of the red strip in the middle.

En deze oude dame doet al het eigenlijke werk aan dit projekt!

Yvonne (van Budel) heeft het er maar druk mee.... en het is zo'n geweldige naaivriendin!! 

Ben echt heel blij met 'r!

Als je wat meer tijd hebt........ If you have more time to spend.........

komt er ineens ook meer uit je handen...... ;)

So maybe a cup of coffee and some show and tell!

Fenje (een Singer 15K88, gevonden in de kringloopwinkel; en genoemd naar mijn geliefde Oma) staat hier heerlijk op de tafel in de tuin.

Na een schoonmaak- en oliebeurt doet ze het zo goed!

Eigenlijk is ze het stilst van al mijn naaimachines; een prachtig geluidje om bij te zitten.

Ik wist echt niet dat handnaaimachines zo mooi naaien en dat het zo'n plezier is om aan het wiel te (zitten... ;) ...) draaien!

En kijk eens wat ze naait: allemaal restjes (ensomsechtdelelijksteengekstestofjes..)

Fenje (a Singer 15K88, found in an up-shop; and named after my beloved Grandmother) is standing on the table in the garden.

After cleaning and oiling her she sews like a dream!

Actually she's the most quiet one of all my sewing machines; a beautiful sound to listen to.

I really didn't know that a handkrankmachine sews so gorgeous and that it is so much fun to turn the weel! :)

And just look what she's working on: all leftover fabrics (andreallythemostuglyestandcraziestfabrics).

Dit is wat ze naait; allemaal blokken van 10,5 bij 10,5 inch.
Gemaakt van 4 strips van 3,5 bij 10,5 inch; kriskas genaaid op telefoonboekpapier (wat zo gemakkelijk er weer af scheurt!)
Deze techniek wordt gebruikt door Bonnie Hunter van Quiltville (klik).
Als haar blog nog niet hebt bezocht, moet je daar echt eens kijken! Zoveel ideeen, tips en gratis patronen!!
This is what she sews; all blocks from 10,5 by 10,5 inch.
Made from 4 strips, that measure 3,5by 10,5 inch each. And sewn on telephonebook-paperr (it just tears away real easy!)

En natuurlijk kwam maand 2 binnen van de Sweet William (BOM van Quilt it & Dotty - klik)

Zo'n pracht van een patroon, daar moet je gewoon meteen aan beginnen dan, he?!  ;)

And ofcourse month 2 arrived of the Sweet William (BOM by Quilt it & Dotty - click)

Such a beautiful pattern, I just had to start right away....!

en dit is blokje vier al weer tot zover....

and this is block four so far.....

Love Entwined (gratis BOM van Esther Aliu -klik) is ook zo'n prachtig patroon, waar je niet van af kunt blijven!!!

Er wordt hier al gewerkt aan de mooie puntjes rond het kompas.

En de (.....heeeeeeelveeeeeeeeel) onderdeeltjes van de eerste zig-zag-diamantjes-rand.....

En hoe je dat dan wilt doen, die zig-zagjes, he.....?!

Love Entwined (free BOM by Esther Aliu - click) is also such a gorgeous pattern, where you just cann't stay away from!!!

I'm working on the beautiful points surrounding the compass.

And on the (veeeeeeerrrrymaaaaannnyyy) parts of the zig-zag-diamonds-border....

And how one wants to make them, huh....?!

Deze tip kreeg ik van Gerda van Quiltpalace (winkel en blog-klik)

Ricky Tims'  Stable Stuff Poly; het kan door de printer, je knipt de onderdeeltjes en plakt het met de Sewline plakstift of je stof en rijgt het om.

De Stable Stuff Poly hoef je er niet uit te halen; als je het nat maakt of wast, wordt het een filmlaagje op je stof. Je merkt er nagenoeg niets van! 

Ideaal!!

This tip I received from Gerda from Quiltpalace (shop and blog- click)

Ricky Tims'Stable Stuff Poly; it runs threw your printer, you cut the parts and stick  it with the Sewline glue pen on you fabric and baste it.

You don't have to remove the Stable Stuff Poly; when you wet or wash it, it becomes a stof layer in your fabric. It's hardly noticed. 

Ideal!!
