Van kleur, stofjes en naaimachines....... Of colour, fabric and sewing machines......

Misschien heb ik jullie verteld dat ik mee zou gaan doen met de Amish BOM II (Block Of the Month)....

Zo niet....: het is een pracht van een quilt met kleuren, zo geweldig, dat het een feestje was  om de eerste twee delen te maken.

De Amish BOM wordt gehost door Quiltpalace (klik).

Kijk eens wat een prachtige stoffen!

Maybe I told you that I would enter the Amish BOM II (Block Of the Month)...

If I didn't...... : it's such a beautyful quilt with such lovely colours, that it was a feast to make the first two parts.

Hier zijn de blokken al kant en klaar op hun plekje in de quilt te wachten...

En er staat een nieuw familie-lid naast te glunderen......  ;)

Here the blocks are all done and waiting to be put on their place in the quilt.

And next to the blocks is a new family-member gloating .....  ;)

Dit is "Denise" , ze is van vrienden van ons geweest en zocht een nieuw thuis.

En dat is gelukt!  :)

En natuurlijk: meer dan welkom!!

This is "Denise", she belonged to friends of ours and was looking for a new home.

And she succeeded!  :)

Ofcourse:  more than welcome!  :)

Even de blokjes van dichterbij ; Denise ook met de neus er bovenop natuurlijk...

Want wat er hier allemaal gebeurd!

Was nog een beetje nieuw voor haar, maar dat zal wel niet lang duren....

It was all a bit new to here, but I don't think that wil take long.....

Een prachtige dame!! A beautiful lady!

Ook nog snel even de blokjes van deel 4 van de Sweet William BOM (klik) gedaan; 

die moesten even wachten door al die nieuwe "oude" naaimachientjes van de laatste tijd.

Also the blocks of part 4 of the Sweet William BOM (click) I made quickly; 

they had to wait due to all the new "old" sewing machines lately.

En de mandjes van deel 5 staan ook al te wachten op hun bloemen;

altijd een leuk werkje die kleine driehoekjes! :)

And the baskets of part 5 are also waiting for their flowers;

always a great job those little triangels!  :)

Allerlei mandjes..... all kinds of baskets....... FUN!!!

Gezellig, he, zulke leuke mandjes.

Ik merk wel dat dat juist de afwisseling tussen patchen, appliqueren en borduren heerlijk is.

En dan die lieve stofjes in je vingers, natuurlijk!

Dat is toch echt onze passie, niet?!

It really works for me: the alternation between patching, applique and embroider.

And ofcourse those gorgeous fabrics threw your fingers!

De Trick or Treat-mandjes worden ook al een groepje!

Voor degene die het nog niet wist:

quilten is echt ZOOOOO gezellig!!!!  ;))

AND: today is basketmakerday.....

The Trick or Treat-baskets are also forming a group!

For the ones who didn't know already:

Dit is de laatste aanwinst, zover, van de groep; die zijn er blij mee!!

wat ik de laatste tijd tussen de her-kansings-spanningen mee bezig ben geweest. Deze twee blokjes van de Sylvia's Bridal Sampler heb ik gemaakt de laatste dagen. Wel te laat voor de update....... sorry....., maar een zoon met een herkansing is wel stress-vol, zeg.....

what I've been doing the last time, besides being busy with resit-stress. These two blocks from Sylvia's Bridal Sampler I made thelast days. I'm too late for the update....... sorry......, but a son with a resit is really stress-ful.........

Hier is blokje B7, Swamp Patch, 21 pieces, en niet zo ingewikkeld om te doen.

Er onder staat blokje B8, Mrs. Cleveland's Choice, 65 (!) stukjes. Nou, mrs. Cleveland heeft inderdaad een ingewikkelde keuze gedaan, hoor! Dat was echt een lastiger blokje.....! Maar ze is toch wel heel leuk geworden.

Here is block B7, Swamp Patch, 21 pieces, and not so complicated.

Than there is block B8, Mrs. Cleveland's Choice, 65 (!) pieces. Well, mrs. Cleveland has made a difficult choice! That was really a more difficult block.......! But it turned out really nice.

En ik kwam een boek van mijn verlanglijstje tegen bij boekhandel van de Moosdijk tijdens het Quiltfestival in Groningen: The Amish Quilt.

Zo mooi om over al die mooie quilts te lezen en ook de geschiedenis van de Amish in boekvorm te hebben! Vooral omdat we ook een kerkje bezocht hebben waar vandaan ze geemigreerd zijn!

And I came across a book from my whishlist at bookstore van de Moosdijk with the Quiltfestival in Groningen: The Amish Quilt.

It's so great to read about all those beautiful quilts and also to have the history of the Amish.

Especially because we visited one of the curches they emigrated from!

Ik moet zeggen dat ik toch wel erg van historische quilts en patronen houdt. Nu ben ik ook een beetje een geschiedenis-mens..... (zal er wel bij passen, dus....) ;))

I have to say that I really love historical quilts and patterns. Well, I'm a bit of a history-person..... ( so I quess it fits......) ;))

Al laatste maar even een paar bloemetjes op deze bloemetjes-woensdag.
