The Pixie Cottage Challenge #87

Good Morning,

Welcome to The Pixie Cottage Challenge #87. Our theme this week is Fussy and Fancy. Don't forget you can choose to use our sketch as well. We like to leave it totally up to you, and yes, you can even choose to follow both the theme and the sketch.

I chose to use this lovely new Pixie Cottage Cupcake Set rubber stamp, which comes with this sentiment and one other. It is now available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  After coloring these yummy images, I find myself craving a decadent chocolate cupcake for sure!

I am excited to see what you all come up with for this challenge ladies.  Hope to see you playing along with The Pixies.

Happy Krafting,

Tanya

Pixie Cottage Challenge #84

Good Morning,

Challenge# 84 over at The Pixie Cottage this week has us using a pretty intense sketch, and the theme is "Summer Nights".  I have used the Pleasant Porch Pixie Cottage background stamp, and the ever so pretty Sitting Summer Willow stamp for my creation this week.  Both stamps are available for purchase at  Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

In attempts to make the scene look like it was a Summer's Night, I stayed with my Copic Blue tones. To subdue the red cherries on Willow's hat, and the yellow flowers on the porch swing, I went over them with my C4 Copic.  It really muted the colors, but that is what I was going for.  To make Willow's skin appear a bit darker, out came my C2, along with my E31, blending them with the E02 Copic.  It was fun to play around with this theme as my cards are usually done up to look like there is a source of sunlight shining upon them.

Well I guess I will keep is short and sweet today. But I do have to say I am looking forward to seeing what your take on the theme will look like.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

Pixie Cottage Challenge #76

Good Morning,

Are you ready for another Pixie Cottage Challenge? We have a wonderful "Strawberries and Cream" theme, as well as fun sketch #76 for you to choose from. Remember, you can chose to use the theme and/or the sketch. For the summer session we will be randomly choosing 1 lucky winner, and that person will be able to choose 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps of their choice.Won't you come and play with The Pixies?

I just LOVE the theme this week. My choice of October Afternoon Strawberry papers made the theme come together very easily.  I chose to use South End Girls #2 again because she is just so darling.  I then went about coloring my image, only to finish off my card with an enameled strawberry broach!

Michelle's Scrapbooking and More carries the wonderful Prima Flowers on my card that were chosen to match my DP, she also carries the stamp.  Currently Michelle has started up a Monthly Copic Club. You will receive 3 new Copic Markers a month, for $15.75 including shipping.  This is perfect for the beginner Copic collector.  Should you be interested sure click on the link above to find out more.

Happy Krafting ladies,

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #74

Good Morning,

Welcome to our Once Upon a Wednesday Pixie Cottage Challenge #74.  The theme this week is "Grab a Glass of Lemonade" hence my abundance of yellow.  I know I love a cold glass of yellow lemonade on a warm sunny day.  Does that not sound refreshing?  You can interpret the theme and/or use the sketch above, and then enter your creation in this weeks challenge.  Don't be shy, we just love being inspired by all your projects.

Once again I was inspired to try something different with my Copic markers.  I took the Pixie Cottage's Fall Wagon Wheel stamp and made it into a summer image, being sure to hide the pumpkins. I worked with Copic Y000 and BG000 to create the summery sky, and then my facecloth dabbed in blender fluid to add a bit of texture.  I then took the lovely Pixie Cottage SouthEnd Girls 2 stamp and created this summer scene.  I seem to have this thing with paper piecing skirts lately.

I worked on this card Saturday afternoon in between our Mommy and Daughter's sunny outdoor park adventure.  We had to come in to rejuvenate, eat, hydrate and relax from our morning at the park. So while the girls ate and took in an afternoon show, I crafted.  They managed to come upstairs as I was embossing the edges of this card.  I got a lot of "Ooohs" from them, followed by "Can we go back outside Mommy?".  We headed back outside outside for more bike rides and an afternoon at another park.

Well, I best stop rambling,
Happy Krafting,
Hugs
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #68

Good Morning,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #68 provides you with this  fab sketch below, and a "One for the Boys" theme.    I used the sketch but decided on a different shape for the center, chosing to go with a pale blue and green color scheme to incorporate the boy theme.  What colors do you associate with boy cards?
Today, I am using a Pixie Cottage background stamp called  "The Dock",  and I paired it up with a WOJ stamp. The Dock is available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, and she does carry the WOJ stamp line as well. I cut my shape out, then proceeded to stamp the image onto it. Once I had all the images colored in, I went about layering them with pop up dots.  Another one of my favorite things to do.

If you have Pixie Cottage stamps, we would love to see them used, but if don't that is ok too. As long as you incorporate the sketch and/or the theme you can enter your creation for a chance to win HERE. I hope you will join us this week.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #42

Good Morning,

This is my take on this weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #42. The theme is metal, and this gorgeous guest sketch is from Penny.

Halloween is fast approaching, and I have had these papers for over a month. I finally sat down to use them, along with these fabulous Halloween stamps from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. Here we have Hannah Witch just about to take flight on her broom on this spooky Halloween eve. The Spooky Tree background stamp helps add some ambiance don't you think?

As for the theme, I added some metal brads and a fabulous metal trinket I got in a mixed metal bag some time ago. Did I mention I have this thing for bags containing odds and ends?

Happy Krafting ladies, I can't wait to see what you come up with this week.
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #41

Good Morning,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #41 provides us with a "Something Sweet" theme, and a wonderful sketch by Pam. You can choose to use the sketch, the theme, or both like I have. Please keep in mind you do NOT have to use a Pixie Cottage stamp to enter this challenge, but it is always exciting to see someone use them in our challenges.

I purchased these Pixie Cottage stamps a long time ago (the sentiment is also a PC stamp), and I finally got to use it. This stamp is all about sweetness to me, as is this delicious chocolate and pink design paper. You can find the "Smiles and his Cupcake" stamp at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, the sentiment can also be found in her Pixie Cottage Stamp line.

With a theme as sweet as this one, I am sure I will be more than inspired, if not tempted this week.

Trick or Treat?

Good Morning,

I just loved the guest sketch this week over at The Pixie Cottage Challenge Blog, and so I had to make a second card with it. I used Whimsical Trick or Treat and Girls of the world Cassidy for this card, and these two Pixie Cottage stamps  cand be found at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

The first time I saw Cassidy I thought of Little Red Riding Hood, and when my stamps arrived last month, I had to pair her up with this adorable tree stamp.

I am playing around with my Copics, and have had some really good days, and some not-so-good days. For this one I used my Copic W series greys, and some Copic R series reds. I then used the fabulous blender pen after being inspired by the design team over at the Copic Creations challenge blog.

Hugs
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #36 and a Freebie Digital Stamp

Good Morning,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #36 is a gorgeous sketch by Adrina, and the theme is Mellow Fruitfulness.  I have had this paper in my stash for quite some time, and have always been intimidated by it's boldness.  Well, I have used most of it up, and have to say it was fun.  Because of how bold and bright it is, I did not have to add too much to it, or else making it too cluttered.   I played around with the color of cardstock, when mounting the different squares and such.  The top one reminds me of a summer's day, where as adding orange makes it more like a sunny fall day.

What paper intimidates you?  What more/less should I have added to these cards?  I love hearing your suggestions so please don't be shy.

My take on mellow fruitfulness  was Hannah taking her time picking apples, I can not wait to see what your take on the theme is this week. This new wonderful stamp is available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, be sure to drop in and browse, so many stamps, so little time!

Happy Krafting,

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #32

Good Morning,

On Wednesday I posted my "Anything but a card" creation for this weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge.  Well I also went ahead and created this card using our guest designers sketch.  Thank you JayJay for this great sketch, I enjoyed creating with it.

This adorable "Gone Fishing" stamp is one of  the new Summer 2010 Pixie Cottage Stamps, available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

Be sure to drop in to Practical Scrappers Bonus Monthly Challenge. They want to see anything you have created that uses water.  As you can see, this adorable bear is fishing, something I have not done in a while, but would like to do with my daughters.

Hope to see you participate.

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #32

Good Morning Ladies,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #32  theme is "Anything but a card".  I sat down and came up with the above post-it-note holder.  It even snaps shut with magnets that I added in between the red cardstock and the striped design paper. I got the idea from a dollar store notepad, and took to modifying the length to accommodate a 3x3 post-it-note pad. I am really enjoying taking things apart to see how they are made, then adding my own little twists and turns to make it "mine". I'm  thinking this would look pretty nifty  next to someone's phone, don't you?

This is one of  the new Summer 2010 Pixie Cottage stamps found at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, entitled "To You From Us".  Be sure to drop in and browse the store, there are so many NEW and pretty things to be seen.

I am curious to see what you will come up with, be sure to enter it into this weeks challenge too!  If this weeks theme is not for you, please drop in anyways, there is a wonderful guest sketch for you to work with as well.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #28

Good Morning,

This weeks Pixie Cottage Challenge #28 provides you with a sketch from our guest designer JayJay. Thank you JayJay, I enjoyed following your sketch! The topic is called "Double Up". Double Up is when you take 2 different stamps and use them on a creation. I used my April with Hearts Pixie Cottage stamp, along with The Pixie Cottage Love sentiment stamp.

I took the sketch and squished it into a 3 x 6 card, I then went about trying to piece it together. I would have liked to get April's dress a lighter shade of yellow, but this is the best I could do.

I am not overly chatty today, I am sorry. This has been one emotional month with a lot of changes to my home and I am feeling it now. Next weeks challenge is canceled, as most of us are on vacation, so I will return in August with some new creations for you. I hope this gives you all a bit more time to try your hand at this weeks Sketch and/or theme challenge over at The Pixie Cottage.

Happy Krafting!
Hugs
