Such a lovely image and made for an equally lovely girl who has started High School! The image is from Tiddly Inks - School Girl and Extras and I've coloured her with Promarkers.
I wanted a clean and simple look to the card so the image has been printed directly onto it (Papermill Direct white linen effect). The little tag has been handwritten and I've cut it from the same card and its a Sizzix die. I've scored a line around the edge of the card for a little extra interest.
Bakers twine and charms are from my stash. Actually, I've got a bit of a thing about charms at the moment and have bought quite a few from ebay and although they come in bags of between 20 and 100 I still find others that I *need*..... I know that they will come in useful one day!!

First Thank You's
Here are the thank you cards that I've made for Samuel's three school teachers (Mrs Oddie, Mrs Sweeney and Miss Hope). I've used a Jellypark digi - Thank You Teacher - which I've coloured with Aquamarkers and sort of kept to the school uniform colours, although I did omit the dinner down his jumper and pen marks on his face!
The papers are from a download I've had for ages - its a school themed set with elements but I can't for the life of me remember where it came from. I printed the papers at 8x8 and have only used three sheets - just had to use them creatively!
A bit of faux stitching around the edges and I've added some stars cut with my X Cut dies plus some back card from my stash for layering and they are done!
And after all that, I bet Samuel either forgets to take them into school or to give them to his teachers!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp: Sketch followed
Passion For Promarkers: Gingham / Checks
Stamp and Create: Hands Full of Love
Tammy's Scrappin Corner: Anything Goes
There She Goes: Sewing and Stitching
Addicted to Stamps: For Someone Special

Too Cool For School!
This is one of my favourite Tiddly Ink images and I've made Geekatude large! The card is approx 15cm square and I've used a retired freebie image of the blackboard as my background, also from Tiddly Inks.
The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've added him to the card base with foam pads so he stands out a little.
I actually have a confession to make - I had to add a strip of card to the top of the base so it formed a square otherwise the thinner card that I'd printed the blackboard on would flop around - not a good look eh?! Serves me right for not thinking straight before I cut!
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations: Back To School
Cupcake Inspirations: Photo Inspiration (red apple on the pc and his shoes as well as overall theme)
My Sheri Crafts: Back To School
Dutch Dare Card Challenges: Back To School

First Day At School
I could not resist making two almost identical cards for the Bugaboo Challenge which is
And both cards will soon be on their way to their recipients, and funnily enough, the digi images look like them! I've coloured them with Promarkers and then layered onto plain card, the shapes cut with a Nesties set.

I've added a bit of doodling with black fine pen and a white gel pen and added ribbon from my stash. I've had a set of school related fancy buttons kicking around in my stash for ages (that long that the packet they were in has vanished!) I cut the backs off as they were buttons so they were a little more flat, added foam pads behind (and glue as I don't always trust the stickiness of the pads!) and then stuck it to the card.
Really quick and simple cards to make! Oh, and the sentiment is computer generated - I jiggled it about so it sat neatly under the image.

Big Flower To Say Good Luck
I've managed to make a few challenges this week, although admittedly, right upto the deadlines! Anyway, here is the first one! Mojo Monday has a sketch - a nice easy one!
I wanted to make a good luck card for the Head Teacher at Samuel's school as she is leaving at Christmas, so this sketch was ideal!
The papers are just so right for this as the little flourish in the corner looked perfect! Papers are Papermania Simply Elegant 6 x 6 pack. The flower I bought from Tescos in the summer - I think they were £1 for two flower heads. So I bought the maroon ones and the teal too. Wish I had bought more now. Typical!
The sentiment is from Papermania and I've stamped it with black Whispers ink and then dabbed chestnut Whispers around the edges and centre.
Lets hope she likes it (and the flower doesn't fall off!)

Getting Organised!
This is a new Sketch Challenge blog for me - Inspirational Card Sketches, and the sketch is:
The spotty backing paper is from Funky Daze, the pearlescent deep blue card (can't really tell its pearlescent on this photo) is from SAMS Scrap Store in Blackburn, the sentiment is a Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set, the apple is my own template and I've chalked it for effect, and the 'mini Samuel' is all Sizzix.
Edges have been inked and either dotted or doodled. One down, 3 to go!

- Dies: Sizzix for 'mini me' and Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet

First Day At School!!
Ta-dah!!! Here he is! Samuel is only at school for the afternoons this week and then two weeks of mornings (the final week he stays for school dinners) as he starts full time on 29 September. But doesn't he look cute??!!
Fortunately, I had decided to get him dressed sooner than anticipated as we were going to walk the 20 mins to school but it chucked it down (funnily enough!) so I had a bit more time to play with as we ended up going in the car. I then realised (before these photos were taken) that his trousers were way too long!!!!
So a quick few stitches will make sure they look acceptable and I can sort them out properly tonight.
He's quite chuffed to be going to school and only asked about nursery on the way and if Jacob was now in pre-school (yes he is).
And I pick him up in about 30 mins from his first day at school!!

I'm Not Going Home - I Want To Stay
.... said Samuel as we were leaving school yesterday following his first visit prior to him commencing in September.
I knew he'd enjoy it, but he was like a dog with two tails - he didn't know what to try or do first! All the tables in the Reception class were laid out with activities and he could do what ever he wanted. The children who currently are in Reception were also there so it was nice to see him playing with other children in their environment. Needless to say, he enjoyed home corner (as it's called at nursery) as it was set up like a castle, complete with dragon and dressing up clothes - so Samuel was a knight and took great delight in 'fighting' with the older girls!!
He also found time to stick a fish. I was also quite impressed with him as he attempted to write his own name on it (but then scribbled over it).
I also bought him some school trousers. Despite being pleased with the fact that they state non iron and crease free, I think they may be a bit big for him unless he has a growth spurt between now and September!
