Bit of Retro Green

And here I am again! This time with a From The Heart Stamps image - Martini Chicks; I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the olives and eyes. And I've also used the same papers I used last week (only because they were still on the table and worked well with the image!) - DCWV Retro Stack 6x6 papers.

The green card is from my stash, and it appears that I've added the image slightly not quite straight..... Oh, and another ebay charm too!

Beer

This is another card ticked of a long list of card requests! I've used a fab From The Heart Digital Stamps stamp called Birdbrain Brew. I've coloured it with Promarkers and a little bit of stickles on the beer.

I've used DCWV Retro Stack 6x6 papers as I thought it was about time I tried to use up some of the stuff I have rather than print more digi papers! And the bakers twine is from my stash. I've used a sentiment from another digi set and die cut the word Dad with a Sizzix alphabet.

We've had another busy weekend - Jacob had his last football match of the season yesterday and it was quite rough at times and he got a boot to the back of his head as he went to save a goal. He's a trouper as he played on after his team mates and Manager came over to see if he was ok. Mind you, he had to play on as he's the only goalie! Samuel had another race today and although he didn't win (he finished 3rd) it was still a good race day and he set some good times.

Dude Time Doodles - Tag! You're It!

It's time for a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles - it is a theme and a colour challenge too:

I've used Skip Sk8r as my image and he's been added to a tag which swings from the card - just as if he is skateboarding! The papers are from DCWV 6x6 Retro Stack, I've added some card candy and also some embroidery thread from my stash to hold the tag onto the card.

The sentiment stamp one that is no longer available from Funky Fairy so I've had it for quite some time! I've added a doodled line around the edge of the card with a white gel pen and a dotted black line around the edge of the image.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and inspiration, pop over to the challenge blog! We are sponsored this week by Paper Temptress and a $20 gift certificate is the winners prize!

Sixties Chick

This was a commission made in a hurry! Made for Pauline from Wedding Toppers for her friend who would be 60 in early August. The hairstyle and dress were specifically asked for (and to include the large lace on the neckline and cuffs!) and that the recipient loved Cliff Richard and John Lennon, so I included two of their album covers.

The black background is from the charcoal pack from Dovecraft, and the number 60 is cut from one of my favourite papers from Funky Hand - Its Funky Too cd, which has been printed onto glossy photographic paper for a shiny feel. The letters have been mounted onto hot pink pearlescent card and then added to the backing paper with 3d foam pads, and the edges glittered with silver.

I added the ribbons, flower and gems as I felt the card lacked a little something and as luck would have it, I had everything to match!

I did have a bit of a panic as I didn't have any white lace and considered bleaching the black that I had, but realised that I didn't have enough time to do it properly and was not sure that it would work right. And then found a new string washing bag - the type you put the washing tablets in - which once cut up small enough worked perfectly (with some sheer white organza ribbon behind)!! Thank God for Persil eh??!!
