Polkadoodle Challenge 27 - Gift Cards

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  The weeks are certainly flying by and before you know it, Christmas will be here!  The theme for the challenge is:

Gift Cards

I made a few of these last year and they were really popular, and to hedge my bets I made some more!  I've used one of my own tempates and I made two of the pouches from a sheet of A4 so it is quite economical.  The images and papers come from Paper Boutique Vol 2 and Santa has been cut out with a Nestie and then glittered.

The ribbon is from my stash and I've added a plain panel inside for a message to be written.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge:  M for Make a Gift
Christmas Crafting:  Two or More Folds
Through The Craftroom Door:  Christmas in July

Polkadoodle Challenge 49 - Quick Christmas

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and Colette has set the fab theme of:

Quick Christmas Cards

I think to make these six cards it took me around ten minutes! I've used some offcuts of card from the Scrap Store that were a perfect size for some diddy cards. The card actually has a light pearlescent sheen so its a good surface to work on!

I've printed one of the Santa digis from Paper Boutique Vol 2 directly onto the cardstock and then added glitter glue around the edge of the card.

Told you it was quick and simple!

Good luck with the challenge - hope you can join in and the deadline is Sunday 18 December at 12noon.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Moving Along With The Times: Last Minute Christmas
ABC Christmas: Y for Yippee - Anything Christmas

Polkadoodle Challenge 47 - Italian Christmas

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! The theme this week has been set by Miria and the theme is:

Italian Christmas

So the colours from the Italian flag are to be used - red, green and white.

I've used the very cute fairy A5 pre coloured template from Paper Boutique Vol 2, simply cut everything out and then layered it up with foam pads. I've added glitter to her dress (I know its a little turquoise looking - its more green in real life!) and a large bit of bling to her crown. And I've made her wand with a cocktail stick!

Good luck with the challenge - closing date is Sunday 4 December. Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

CRAFT Challenge: Unusual Christmas

Polkadoodle Challenge 46 - Shaped Christmas

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! It's a good theme (even if I say so myself as I picked it!) and it is:

Shaped Christmas

But NO square or rectangle cards - it really does need to be shaped!

I've used the A5 sized pre printed template of a Ponsettia from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - simply print, cut out and layer!

I've added the tag that comes with the template plus added some ribbon too from my stash plus glued seed beads to the centres of the flowers for extra depth.

Hope you can join in the challenge - closing date is Sunday 27 November. Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday: Christmas Time
Pile It On: Traditional Christmas
Totally Gorjuss: Christmas Traditions

Too Many Mince Pies

I do like this image from Dustin Pike! I got it as part of the July Bundle of Christmas images and I think I got around 100 images too so I have a fair few left to work my way through! It's been coloured with Promarkers and I've added glitter glue to his suit fur.

The spotty paper is from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 printed A5 size. I discovered I had some small Cuttlebug embossing folders when looking for the Quickutz fairy lights die, so I embossed a bit of acetate I had left on the table from my previous post. I never know how to stick acetate down without the gunk showing through, so I used glossy accents and its worked!

I've added a string of fairy lights with a Quickutz die and a hand drawn line plus the sentiment was hand written too. This is a card towards the order I have and it will be going to one of those tricky males!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch and Stash: Sketch followed
Doodle Dragon Studios: Make Us Laugh
One Stitch at a Time: Use a Digi
Crafty Hazlenut's Christmas Challenge: For A Male
Mark's Finest Papers: Polkadots

  • Image: Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers
  • Dies: Cuttlebug embossing folder; Quickutz fairy lights die

Simply Create Challenge 53 - Older Than 6 Months

It's time for another Simply Create Challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Older than 6 Months

So dig out those old stamps, digi stamps and papers and get cracking! For more details on how to enter pop over to the challenge blog.

I've used a digi stamp from last year by Lee Jacobs which I bought from CraftsUPrint. It's been coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue and the spotty paper is from Polkadoodles - Paper Boutique Vol 2.

A bit of faux stitching and I was advised by Jacob that he liked the red stretchy ribbon so that got used plus I've had it for about 2 years! Sentiment is a Studio G acrylic stamp.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cardmad Fairy's Digi Challenge: Too Early For Christmas?
Craft Room Challenge: Anything Christmas

Polkadoodle Challenge 36 - Setting The Scene

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme has been set as:

Setting The Scene

I've used the fireplace template from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas, layered all the elements with foam pads and added some gold stickles to make the fire sparkle! I chopped the top part of the card off as I wanted just the fireplace. This is the A5 sized template - there are other sizes available.

Good luck with the challenge - its open until 12noon GMT Sunday 18 September.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz: Inspired by a Song (Roasting Chestnuts Over an Open Fire)
I Brake for Challenges: Background

  • All elements: Paper Boutique Vol 2

Polkadoodle Challenge 29 - Christmas In July

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! Colette is our hostess this week and a girl after my own heart with a theme of

Christmas in July

I've used the wonderful Paper Boutique Boutique Vol 2 - Christmas Creative and made this cute fairy! She's A5 in size and all I did was print off the shapes and then layer them up with foam pads. The dress is layered and so the head has a fair few foam pads underneath otherwise she'd look like her head was shrunken! I've added gems to her crown and glitter glue to her dress and wings. And of course every fairy holds a star wand made from a cocktail stick!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - deadline is Sunday 31 July at 12noon GMT.

My card fits the following challenges:

Creative Belli: Christmas
Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Christmas in July
Flutter By Wednesdays: Open Theme but must use Angel, Butterfly or Fairy
Creative Craft Challenges: 3D It
Papertake Weekly: Getting Cute
Top Tip Tuesday: Shaped Cards
Delightful Challenges: Christmas in July

Stack of Gifts

I need to get back into the swing of making Christmas cards - I'm doing so well with my target and I'm very nearly half way there! This is a really nice quick and easy card to make. It's from Polkadoodles cd Paper Boutique Vol 2 and I've cut all the elements out and then added them to a card blank.

The bows and stars have foam pads behind them and I've either glittered or used glossy accents. I've cut around the shape of all the gifts so its a shaped card.

It fits the following challenges:

CD Sunday: Christmas
UnstampaBelles: Celebration
Sparkles Christmas Card Challenges: 'Twas The Night Before Christmas
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturdays: Stars and Stripes
Guylou's Inimitability: Stars and Stripes

  • All paperbased elements: Polkadoodle Paper Boutique Vol 2

Gift

This is a great template to use for a quick card to make! It's from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas by Polkadoodles and I've used the A5 size. All the elements have been cut out and then layered up. The bows, swags and stars have been attached with foam pads and I've then added some glitter glue too for sparkle!

And I've made the card for the following challenges:

Christmas Inspirations: Shaped Card
Lexi's Creations: No Sentiment

Anita Be Stamping: Shaped Card

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenters plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

Santa Gift Card's

Here are some gift card holders that I've made! I actually made four more but with different papers and stamps but haven't yet finished them off so will blog those at some point in the future!

I've used papers from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Christmas Creative and printed on both sides of the card. I've used my own template so I knew I could get two from a sheet of A4. I've added ribbon as the closure and a blank piece of card inside so the message can be written.

The Santa is a stamp also from Polkadoodles which has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue. And I've used a Nestie shape to layer it on.

Quite quick and easy to make once I'd worked out the template! They fit the following challenges:

Christmas Stampin': A Little Something From Me To You!
Bah Humbug!: Surprise!

  • All papers: Polkadoodles - Paper Boutique Vol 2
  • Stamp: Polkadoodles - coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue

Blue Snowboy

Just when you thought it was safe as I'd not blogged a Christmas related item for a few days!! I just can't keep away, plus I need to make at least 12 cards a month to reach my target and I am determined I am going to do it!

I've used papers from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas from Polkadoodles, added a dotted line around the edge of the paper with liquid pearls, a faux running stitch with a silver gel pen around the edge of the card and also just inside the liquid pearls. I've used my Nesties for the shaping and again added liquid pearls and a silver running stitch.

The image is an old one from Dustin Pike and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus glossy accents on the buttons of coal and top hat. The ribbon is from my stash along with the silver snowflakd (Matalan Christmas decoration) and the looks-great-and-a-good-idea-to-use pearlescent icicles are also a previous Christmas decoration. They are a right faff to get to stick as they want to twist but I think I eventually managed it!

I've used the sketch from The Sweet Stop for inspiration:

And the card fits the following challenges too:

Dustin Pike's Challenge: It's A Boy Thing
Jingle Belles Rock Challenge: Let It Sew
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Wintertime Blues
Sparkles Christmas Challenge: Snowmen

Santa

A nice and easy and quick card to make for the current Jingle Belles Rock challenge which this week asks for:

Jolly Old St Nicholas

I've used a shaped card template from Polkadoodle Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas cd, I've used the A5 version, cut all the elements out and then layered them up with foam pads.

The card blank is made with one of the backing papers from the same cd. I've glittered parts of Santa so he is really sparkly!

I made quite a few of these cards for last Christmas and they sold like the proverbial hot cakes - here's hoping that will be repeated in the lead up to this Christmas!

Holly Wreath

A quick post from me today (if I get myself organised enough, there may be another post later on!) which is for the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge and the theme this week is:
Christmas Foliage and / or Flowers
I've used the decoupaged holly wreath from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 which is all Christmas related. The images have been printed A5 pre coloured and then I've simply cut them out and layered up with foam pads. You'll have to excuse the rather odd shine on the bow of the ribbon - I added the glossy accents when it was going dark and I should have put the light on so I could see what I was doing. When I realised it was a bit patchy, I added more, hence the mottled look! At least I know for future reference!

Polkadoodle Challenge 49 - To Hold A Gift

It's Friday and welcome to another Polkadoodle Challenge! This week, Dee has set the challenge of to make a project to:

Hold a Gift

I've used part of a 12x12 sheet of brown card plus ribbon and a brad from my stash to make a hot chocolate holder!

I've used two Spellbinder Nestabilities to layer the image on. I printed off a few of the little digis from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas and then layered them, adding glitter glue to the cookies and also marshmallows.

I punched holes at the side of the slot to stop it from ripping - the brad holds the bottom flap in place so that the top can be tucked inside.

A nice and quick project to make which can be adapted to hold any sort of pouch.

Polkadoodle Challenge 47 - 'Twas The Night Before Christmas

It's Friday again so time for another Polkadoodle challenge! Brenda set this week's challenge prior to her stepping down from the Design Team and it is to draw inspiration from

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

I've used the gift shaped card from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas plus a bit of glitter glue here and there. This is a really quick card to make as it is made up of chunky shapes that you cut out and layer up but it looks really effective too!

And if you look you can see the little mouse! He's taken from Back to Nature and I've reduced his size somewhat so I could fit him on the card!

I'm giving away as part of the blog candy hop a copy of Creative Christmas - click HERE for the post - you have until Sunday 28 November to enter so be quick!

Santa Door Hanger

I don't really need an excuse to make these Christmas door hangers, but when I saw the Die Cut Dreams challenge for the week, which is:

Make A Door Hanger

I had to get cracking! The last one I made, I sold and I've been asked for more, so I've actually made 3 of these with slight variations on each. The red spotty paper is printed onto card and I've made it thicker by having a blank layer in between the printed sides. Both the paper and the Santa image are from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas from Polkadoodles.

I've glittered Santa with glitter glue and the letters have been cut with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet for the larger letters and my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet for the smaller letters. I've inked the edges of the hanger and then doodled a fine black line around the edge.

Polkadoodle Challenge 45 - Gift Box

It's Friday so that can only mean another Polkadoodle challenge! I'm hosting the challenge this week and the theme is:
Gift Boxes

This can be for Christmas, or any other occasion as long as it is a gift box. The challenge is open until Sunday 22 November at 12noon GMT and please remember the 10 rule challenge!
I've used the template from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas to make these little takeout gift boxes and then printed some of the papers from the same cd on the other side of the card.

They are really quick and easy to make! I know these look a little unfinished, and that's because they are! My intention is to use them at the table for our Christmas dinner, but as I don't know how many people will be there I've only made the 4 (just in case we end up staying at home and catering for ourselves!)

If I remember, I'll take a photo of the finished boxes closer to Christmas. But don't hold me to it as there are a lot of sleeps between now and then and I am likely to forget!

Before I go, I need to warn you of something big happening next week for the Polkadoodle challenge that you will NOT want to miss! We are hosting a blog hop with lots of prizes along the way - so if you've not got any Polkadoodle stash yet then this could be your chance to win some! More details are on next week's post so make sure you tune back in next Friday at 9am!

If you can't wait until then to win some Polkadoodle stash, then pop over to the website where you will find lots of goodies at great prices and the best bit is free postage and packing to anywhere in the whole wide world! Minimum spend to qualify is £5 but that won't be difficult!

We are still on the lookout for Design Team members - closing date for applications is 14 November - go to the challenge blog for more details of how to apply!

Simple Doodles Challenge 29 - Shape It!

Welcome to another Simple Doodles Challenge! This fortnight the brief is to make

A Shaped Card

So no 'normal' shapes are not allowed! I've used the gift card from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas. This is the A5 size and I've cut out all the shapes and layered them up plus added some glitter glue here and there for sparkle!

The sentiment is also from the same cd and I've tied it to the candy cane with sparkly string.

The challenge is open until Friday 5 November when the next one is set. Good luck!
