Crimbo Crackers Challenge 28 - Snowmen

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge! And no pink in sight this week either! The challenge theme for this fortnight is:

Snowmen (or Snowladies!)

Crimbo Crackers is sponsored by Ladybug Crafts Ink and a lucky entrant will win a £10 gift certificate to spend online!

I've been lucky enough to use a digi from Ladybug Crafts Ink and here it is - its called Let It Snow and I've coloured it with Promarkers and stickles.  I've used papers from Polkadoodles Here Comes Christmas cd and added some faux stitching around the edges.

The largest snowflake has been cut with a Marianne Creatables die and the smaller ones are actually a really posh parcel string from Marks and Spencers!  I've added half pearls to the centres.  I'll be waiting for the January sales to buy some more of the snowflake stuff plus some other bits that I have my eye on for crafting, so don't be going in the Blackburn store and buying all the stock!!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Passion For Promarkers:  In The Garden
Sweet Stamps:  Christmas
Crafty Bloggers Network:  Christmas Anything Goes
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge:  Christmas

And a reminder of Jenny's sketch:

And here is my sample!  I've used Beer Belly Man digi and coloured him with Promarkers.  The papers are from a retired Funky Hand collection called Boys and Girls, plus a sentiment stamp I found in my stash and some X Cut stars.

A little bit of inking here and there and the card is complete!  Good luck with the challenge - for moe details pop over to Fetch A Sketch and see how Lou has used the sketch too!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 32

It's time for another challenge over at Fetch A Sketch and Jenny is our hostess this fortnight and here is her wonderfully clean and simple sketch (with plenty of scope for embellishments!):

We have a new sponsor and Ladybug Crafts Ink are offering the winner a £10 gift certificate to the store - thank you Kerry!

I've been lucky enough to play with one of the digi images from the store - Pram Baby Baby (and its only £1.50!)  It's been coloured with Promarkers and I've cut it out and used foam pads before layering onto the backing paper.  Papers are from Polkadoodles - I'm not sure which cd as I found the papers in my rather large and overflowing shoe box and they could have been there some time!

I made the bunting from some offcuts of card and added a dotted blue gel pen line around the edges, pearls at the corners and embroidery ribbon to tie.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Joanna Sheen Challenge:  Dotty

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 22 - Christmas Pudding

The weeks are certainly flying by and it's hard to believe that we are half way through August!  But if you've been joining in with the Crimbo Crackers challenges every fortnight, the pile of Christmas cards will be looking quite healthy now!

This fortnight the theme is:

Christmas Pudding

Or similar - cake etc - I'm quite relaxed as to what constitutes Christmas Pudding!

I'm sponsored by Ladybug Craft Inks and Kerry has generously offered a £10 gift certificate to spend in the store for one lucky entrant!

I've been lucky enough to work with one of the digi images from the store - Christmas Pudding and it's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glossy accents on the berries and stickles on the runny stuff on the top of the pudding (would that be cream?!  I usually have Christmas cake rather than pudding to be honest, although I think it could be brandy based!)  I've added it to the card with foam pads so it stands proud a little.
The papers I've had for absolutely ages and is part of a download from Mad About Cards.  The brown card is from the Papermill Shop and I've added some faux stitiching and some rather posh linen / twill ribbon that I bought a few years ago from a local(ish) craft shop that was relocating and everything was being sold at mad prices!

Good luck with the challenge - to find out more and how to enter click here.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Just Keep On Creating:  Christmas
Celebrate the Occasion:  Christmas in August
City Crafter Challenge:  Fabric (does the linen / twill ribbon type stuff count?!)
Creative Card Crew:  Maps / Newsprint / Sheet Music / Script
My Time To Craft:  Christmas in August
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge:  Festive Food or Drink

Dad - You're A Star!

This was such a great card to make! I've used some freebie paper I got probably a few years ago from a card magazine - I downloaded the file as I find that the actual giveaway in the magazine is a bit hard to use as the paper quality is not always the best.

The star is one of my own templates and I've used my Sizzix Round-A-Bout alphabet set for the Dad letters and Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet for the You're A Star sentiment.

A bit of inking with black and a red inkpad and the card is complete!

It fits the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts: It's All About The Males
Crafting For All Seasons: Father's Day
Ambers Cards and Crafts: Special Man
Paper Play: Fathers Day
Delightful Challenges: Fathers Day
Craft Us Crazy: Fathers Day
CRAFT Challenge: Fathers Day
Sew Many Challenges: Fathers Day
Fussy and Fancy: For A Male
Alphabet Challenge: F for Fathers Day
Secret Crafter: For A Male
One Stop Craft: Fathers Day
Sentimental Sunday's: Fathers Day

  • Papers: Free from a magazine a few years ago
  • Dies: Sizzix Round-A-Bout and Cuttlebug Baby Face

Spotty Windmills

Some more windmills! Once I start making them it is difficult to stop! This time these are for the Ladybug Crafts Challenge which is:

Going Dotty

I've used kebab sticks from Tesco and papers from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download. I've printed both the positive and negative dots - one on each side.

I've used a bit of glitter glue in the corners of each sail and a velvet brad through the centre. To keep the reverse of the windmill pretty, I've tied a bow with some pink ribbon, plus it helps to attach the windmill to the kebab stick!
