Gorgeous Post-Workout Hair

I can't go one day without going to the gym. Some days, even when I'm extremely busy, I'll still go and have a sweat session at the gym. I have some awesome tips for ways to get fresh without having to redo your hair. When I'm really tight on time I like to put my hair in a shower cap or tie it back and just wash my body. The reason is, I have pretty long hair and it takes quite some time to blow dry it. I have a few awesome products and tips that I like to use after I workout to tidy my appearance. At the beginning of your workout, put your hair in a bun that you wrap around itself (like a ballerina bun) instead of a pony tail. This will help prevent those nasty hair tie bumps. If your hair won't stay in this style the whole time your at the gym try using a fabric scrunchy rather than a regular hair tie. Once your finished with your workout head into the gym bathrooms. If there is a blow dryer available (or even a hand dryer), flip your head upside down so that way your roots of your hair are exposed, then blast it with the cold setting on the blow dryer until your hair is dry. Once you flip your hair over it should have a bit more life than before. Now, use a dry shampoo, a few good brands are Pssssst, Fredric Fekkai, or Ojon. You can find these at either Target or Sephora. Lift your hair at the roots and spray where it greasy or dull looking, then allow it to dry for a few seconds. After it dries, finger fluff your hair to give it a bit more volume. Lastly, set your hair with hairspray to get the finishing look. Hair spray will make it look glossy and fresh.

How To Get Healthy Hair!

Our hair goes through so much everyday. It has to deal with hot styling tools, hair products, and pollution. All of those factors contribute greatly to unhealthy hair. Sometimes, it just needs some TLC to keep it looking fabulous! The tips listed below are ones that I have discovered that work well for me!
  • Have a lazy day! Pick a day that you can give your hair a rest from hot styling tools. Braid your hair or put it in a bun the night before so when you wake up and take it out you'll have gorgeous waves!
  • Before you dive into the pool (or ocean), rinse your hair with water and apply a leave in conditioner. The hair follicle is very porous so it will absorb pretty much any chemical in the pool. This will cause it to become dry. Applying a deep conditioner makes the hair absorb that instead of the icky chlorine and salt water. (Try Garnier Fructis Leave-in Conditioning Cream)
  • If you want extra volume instead of teasing it try hair rollers. It gives you that all around beautiful lift, not to mention it makes it look shinier too! Use bigger sized rollers for more volume and smaller ones for a curlier look (that has volume of course!) (Try Conair CHV14J Instant Heat Jumbo and Super Jumbo-Sized Rollers)

An adorable Fall hairstyle.

So lately I've been playing around with my hair and I found a super cute hairstyle. Its using medium sized rollers and then braiding your bangs (or layer(s)) back or a few small braids around the head. I found that this is a super flirty look and I found that I get a lot of complements when I wear my hair this way. If you look at the picture to the right of Blake Lively (Serena from Gossip Girl) the hairstyle I do is pretty much identical. The reason you use the rollers instead of blow drying or straightening the hair is because the rollers give the hair more volume. The volume adds the beautiful bouncy texture, it also creates a cute flip out of the hair at the bottom. I'm going to explain how to do this hairstyle as well as I can online.

  1. First brush out any tangles you have in your hair.
  2. Then apply a heat protecting spray all over your hair and comb through.
  3. Once you have done that now section your hair out in fours.
  4. Clip back all but one section of hair, so the one section is easy to work with.
  5. Then take about 1 1/2 inches of hair from that section and put the roller in.
  6. Repeat until you finish all sections.
  7. Once your hair is all in the rollers lightly mist hairspray over the top of the rollers.
  8. Then sit about 10-15 minutes or until your rollers cool to spray it with hairspray once again and then take them out.
  9. When you have all of your hair down run your fingers lightly through it a couple times or if your hair is likely to get greasy by the end of the day then shake your hair out a few times.
  10. Once that is done you can spray it once more with hairspray just to settle the style.
  11. Then braid your bangs, layers, or pieces of your hair the way you want to braid the.
  12. Now your finished! Lightly mist a shine spray all over your finished style and your ready to go!

Summer Hair Tips!

Summer is now here! I wanted to share some great Summer hair tips and styles!

A really cute way to style your hair during the summer without much effort is to braid your hair and sleep on it and when you wake up you'll have perfect beachy waves! Then just scrunch with some hairspray and shine serum and off you go!

To protect your hair (and scalp) from the sun, use a misting sunscreen to spray a small amount over your head, then just let it fall onto your hair and scalp.

Before your day, when your getting ready use a heat protecting spray all over your hair. Even if you're not using hot tools on your hair it can still protect it from the heat outside.

Rinse your hair with cold water before entering a chlorine pool. The chlorine can soak into your hair follicles and it can damage your hair. Rinsing it before hand allows your hair to soak up and have no room left to soak up the damaging pool water.

During the Summer you must use a deep conditioner at least once a week. I tend to use mine twice a week during the Summer. The sun is very hard on our hair and it needs to R&R at the end of the week!

Avoid using hair ties that have metal clasps during the Summer. The metal can react with pool chemicals, break fragile hair, and get really hot from the sun!

Before you go to bed, take a shower and dry your hair until its just damp. Then twist it up into a bun and sleep on it. In the morning before you take it out hairspray all around your hair. Then take out your bun and finger tousle it and you have tousled, voluminous hair!

Jojoba oil works wonders on frizzy hair.

Wear a hat when in the sun for longer than 5 hours!

Try using organic products this will help your hair in the longer! Also don't forget that hair can get sun burned too and the way it heals is you have to get it trimmed!

Spring Hair Trend 2009

This season, braids are in, from braiding back your bangs, to totally twisted braided buns. They are all fun and flirty and perfect for the welcoming of spring. The most popular look is the braided headband. Now all the celebrities have their hairstylists do this for them, but it can be extremely hard for newbies, so a quick and easy way is to buy a headband with faux hair on it in your hair color. Then just slip it on and its a simple look that takes maybe 30 seconds! Another popular look (which is one of my favorites), is the braided back bang. Sometimes when I'm in dance or I'm just sick of my hair in my face I like to do this style. You can either french braid it or just normally braid it. Now I'm not good at french braiding so I just do it normally and bobby pin it. Another style is called the milk maid braid. How you do it, is you put your hair in two pig tails at even height. Then you braid them both, and bobby pin on top of your head. Make sure to conceal the bobby pins and this can be an adorable beach look, or a romatic first date look.

Fabulous Hair Tips!

Having a bad hair day or your hair looks greasy? Try a scarf or hat to cover your roots. There are many cute hair styles for scarves here! Click on Salvage a bad hair day with a scarf. There are parts 1, 2, and 3.

Not in the mood to style your hair? Braid your wet hair in braids and sleep on it. Then take it out in the morning and put some product in it and mist it with hair spray and you'll look great! Plus everyone will think you slaved over your hair to get that style!

Want more volume? When blow drying your hair flip it upside down and blow dry at the roots. Then once the roots are dry mist with hair spray and blast it with heat from your blow dryer. Then put the blow dryer on cool to lock the look.

For shiny hair try a Garnier Fructis Shine Hair Mist. There are many different kinds. All work well though. When your hair is wet spray it on and brush through. Then after styling hair mist it on again without brushing.

For natural looking straight hair. Skip the flat iron and try blow drying with a round brush. It gives it a more soft, voluminous look rather than a limp and dry look.

Wanna skip a day of washing your hair, but your hair gets so greasy looking? Try a dry shampoo like
Psssst. They have specially made misting dry shampoos for different hair colors.

Want curls but not with a curling iron? Try twisting your hair into a bun when wet and sleep on it. Then when you take it down in the morning and finger style it. Once you get it the way you want it mist it with hair spray. VoulĂ ! Many curls that look natural and have major volume!

Want a chic looking pony. Put your hair into a pony whatever way you would like high, low, straight, or curly. Then take a thin piece of hair from the back of the pony and wrap it around your hair elastic and bobby pin it!

Did you know that the more water you drink the more healthier your hair and skin is?! So drink plenty of water!

Also when you take your vitamins your hair and nails become stronger!

To give hair that piecey textured look buy some texturizing cream and put some in your hands. Rub your hands together to warm the cream and apply it only at the ends of your hair. If you apply it to your root area you hair will become greasy and gross.

Style Beautifully!

Healthy Sexy: Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-in Conditioner.

I've been using this product for almost a year now. I love it so much. Its a leave-in conditioner that helps reduce tangles and leaves your hair soft and shiny!

The product claims:
What it does: Reconstructs, moisturizes and combats environmental stresses by penetrating hair with Soy and Tri-Wheat proteins. Detangles and softens hair Adds light moisture Helps prevent static electricity Special Ingredients: Soy, Wheat Protein

How I used it is I shampooed and conditioned my hair as usual then when I got out of the shower I sprayed the product into my hair and brushed it through to get rid of tangles.

The results I was looking for is a leave-in conditioner that would leave my hair tangle-free, soft, and shiny. Also one that smelled good! My review: I fell in love with this product the first time I used it. I usually have tangled hair when I get out of the shower. I used this conditioner and it got all of them out very easily and it didn't even hurt my hair! Its an all natural product which is great! Once I dried my hair I felt it, it felt super soft and healthy. The product smelled fantastic. It didn't smell like a hairspray or regular hair product. This costs eleven dollars. You can find it at drugstores, hair supply stores, and Target. Leaving your hair soft and shiny, Tori

Summer Hair. How to keep it cute without using heat.

In the summer I like to give my hair a break from curling irons, straighteners, blow dryers, and three barrels. I feel that in the AZ heat being in the sun is damaging your hair just like all the beauty tools. A way that I protect my hair is when I get out of the shower I use a leave in conditioner and Frizz-ease weather works. Frizz-ease Weather Works protects your hair from the winter, summer, fall, and spring. It shields out humidity and protects your locks from the heat. After I add all of the products I like to braid my hair and sleep on it. Then when I take it out in the morning is has beachy waves without the trouble or heat. Another way I like to do my hair is I put it in a bun, (one that you put in a pony and then twist around itself) sleep on that, then take it out in the morning. The results are gorgeous, voluminous curls.

Braids over night.

P.S Sorry for the weird camera angle I hurt my right eye so its all red and I don't think you all want to see that.

Garnier Fructis Hairspray

I have discovered a great product! Its Garnier Fructis Hairspray. It has great hold and a great smell. But wait there's more! It also keeps your hair soft! Other hair sprays can sometimes make your hair feel crunchy and stiff like a twig. This hairspray doesn't even come close to that! I curl my hair a lot and this is one of the first hair sprays that actually holds my hair for the WHOLE day! Yeah, that's right the whole day! This is one of my make-up essentials. The last time I went to Target (also when I got all my make-up goodies) I got a great deal! Usually the hairspray is 4 dollars, but it was on sale for 3 dollars and then it came with a dollar of coupon attached to it so it was only 2 dollars! Another great thing about the hairspray is it combs out and it doesn't flake. Hope I get you addicted to this hairspray!
Have a beauty-filled day!

Having trouble finding a hairstyle?

Are you trying to find a hairstyle but you can't find one to fit your face shape? Well here are some tips to help you find a cute hairstyle you'll love!

Round face:
Your face is as wide as it is long.

Oblong:
Longer than it is wide.

Heart:
Narrow at the jaw line, wide at the cheekbones/forehead.

Diamond:
Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line with same length.

Square:
Wide forehead and strong wide jaw line.

Oval:
You can pretty much wear any hair style! I have an oval face shape and I absolutely love wearing all the different hairstyles!

Oblong:
Short to medium lengths. Fullness at the sides of your face. Soft wispy bangs. You'll want to balance the look of a long and slender face. Soft wispy bangs will shorten the appearance of the length. Fullness at the sides of your face will add width to the look of your face shape.
By cutting the hair into a short or medium length, the outline of the cut will also shorten the look
of the length of the face. Layers work great with your face shape, as they will add softness
to the straight lines in your face. Try side parts, and you may be able to wear straight back styles.

Round:
Hair styles with fullness and height at the crown. Off center parts. Short hair styles with a swept-back direction or hair styles that are longer than chin length. By layering the top to
achieve fullness and keeping the rest of the cut relatively close to the face, your face shape will appear longer and narrower.

Heart:
Chin-length or longer styles. Side-parted hair styles. Swept-forward layers around the upper face, gently wispy bangs. A chin length bob is great on your face shape!
This creates a balanced look by giving fullness where you need it. You can wear shorter styles, however, if you are a dramatic heart shape you need to
leave weight in the back nape area. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more narrowing chin.

Diamond:
Your face shape is balanced and dramatic. Try a variety of styles. Almost everything works with your face (as long as you are a true diamond). You can wear shorter styles, however if you are a dramatic diamond shape you need to leave weight in the back nape area like a heart shaped face. This will achieve more balance between your dramatic cheekbones and more delicate chin line.

Baby hairs.

Do you ever get those annoying baby hairs and you can't do anything about them?
You can't cut them you just have to wait for them to grow out.
Well while your waiting for them to grow
out I have some tips to help you hide them!

When I make a poof ( like in the picture above) all of my baby hairs are showing.
So what I do is I get hair spray and a comb and i use the comb to direct where I want to put the baby hairs. Then I hairspray it for them to stay there. I use this tip all the time and it helps me so much! Oh when your done using your comb make sure you wash it! I have a habit of forgetting to wash it and ones it was hair sprayed to my counter! Haha.

Hope this help!

Did you know you might be washing your hair wrong?

I always thought that as long as you washed your hair as instructed on the shampoo and conditioner bottle everything was ok. Well I just found an article about how you could be washing your hair wrong!
Here's the article!

So, what is the right way of washing the hair?
The first thing you should do is to comb the tangles out of the hair before you wet it so the hair would wash easily and the tangles would not worsen. And then, wet your hair thoroughly under the shower. You can use either warm or cold water if you like, but for best results, you can wet your hair with warm water to open the scale-like cuticles of the hair and wash all the oil and dirt off. And then, you can rinse your hair with cold water afterwards to close the cuticles and add to the shine of your hair.
Rinse your hair under the shower to rid it of the leave-on conditioner and styling aids you have used previously, using gentle strokes of your fingertips. Then, pour a dollop of shampoo in the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together, and then apply the shampoo to your scalp. Take note that you should put the shampoo on your scalp and not at the ends of your hair, as the shampoo would dry your hair's ends and cause it to weaken and split. Also, do not mix your hair all over your head as you shampoo because it will get all tangled up. After this, rinse the shampoo off.
More often than not, we need to shampoo our hair for a second time. The purpose of the first shampoo is to clean the oil and dirt off; the second shampoo is supposed to let the shampoo treat our hair. So, repeat the process, but let the shampoo sit on for around a couple of minutes. Rinse the hair completely after this.
To get the excess water off your hair, just squeeze the water out. Do not pull or tug at the hair because the hair is at its most delicate when it is soaked. When the excess water is out, apply a dollop of conditioner - mane event- and apply it along the hairline, the nape and the ends of the hair. Pile your hair then inside a shower cap and let the conditioner stay there for around ten minutes. And then, rinse it off completely.
The process described here does seem tedious and time-consuming. But remember, having great hair takes time and effort. And it is definitely worth it for a picture perfect hair.
This is not my article so I do not take credit I was looking stuff up on google and this came up.
Just so you know (:

xoxo, Tori

How to Help Winter Hair.

Do you ever get dry damaged hair from the Winter?
Well I have ways to help you because it happens to me to.

First off is during the winter it is best not to use a lot of heat such as curling irons, 3 barrels, straighteners, blow dryers, etc.
If you absolutely must use heat then I suggest you use heat products to protect your hair.
You can use these through the whole season and not just during winter. Plus its better for your hair and it even makes your hair shi
nier and prevents split ends.
A suggestion I have for a product is:
TRESemmé thermal care creations heat tamer spray.
I use this on my hair after I get out of the shower. I just spray a little in my hair and brush it through.
Now when dealing with the winter breakage you should use a hydrating Shampoo and conditioner.
Such as Hello Hydration from Herbal Essence.
Another you can use which has great smell is
Bath and Body's Signature Collection Hair care.
You can pick any scent you want as long as its Moisturizing.

Well I hope this helped you and please rate my blog so I can see how much this helped people.
Thank you and Happy New Years!

xoxo, Tori
