Smile! Life is Awesome!!

Hey all!! How's the weather? Has the warmer temperature reached you Yet?? If it has, send it my way! I'm freezing!! LOL!!
A few weeks ago I had the honour of attending Scrapbook and Cards Today's CROP AND CREATE event on Moncton! To say it was fabulous would be an understatement!! It totally rocked!!  I was able to help out in 3 classes for Spellbinders taught my Kim Hupke and Mrs Spellbinders herself, Stacey Caron! It was SOOO much fun to be in the classroom with them! Let me just say that the students left VERY happy!! :)
While there I also had a little bit of time do create myself. So I dug out my new DCWV DIY Project Stack. But I did not create a project, as in this post here. But I did use the papers (gorgeous!!) to create this fun layout!! I love that this stack is SO extremely versatile!! Projects, cards or layouts! Anything you desire!!

I die cut most of the papers using Spellbinders Standard Circles small and large.  I nested them all together to create the rings. I think this is one of my favourite techniques... like, ever!!  I also added lots of little extras on here to coordinate with the papers... I had a few little strips of other patterned papers in black/white stripes, some wood embellishments and frame, Foam squares to add dimension to some of the circles, Enamel dots, a stamp and of course, some splats using Imagine Crafts irRESISTible texture
And wanna hear something funny?? I went to an all weekend crop and forgot to bring... PHOTOS!!! I did not bring a single picture with me! Dummy me! LOL!  So I was so thankful when Stephanie and Tracy saved the day with their Instax printers! Thank you ladies! So I got these cool mini polaroids to scrap with! Totally cool! :)

Supplies:

  • DCWV: DIY Project Stack (Birds and Butterflies)
  • Spellbinders: Standard Circles Sm, Lg
  • Imagine Crafts Featuring Tsukineko: irRESISTible Texture Spray: Black Tuxedo
  • Cosmo Cricket: Text Stickers
  • Teresa Collins: Nine and Co wood pieces
  • MME: Enamel dots
  • Heidi Swapp: Stamp

DCWV-Tombow USA Blog Hop- Day 2

Hi and Welcome to the Gold and Cork Blog Hop with Tombow USA and DCWV!

We have 2 days full with gorgeous projects using GOLD and CORK! You probably came here from Lisa Lahiff's  blog but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the  DCWV Blog to start!

For my project today I created a scrapbook page. I used the The DCWV Gilded Stack, a 4x4 Cork Stack. I adore the patterns and colours in this stack! The background is the reverse side of one of the papers, so it's actually double sided!
To adhere my rings down, I used the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. The layers are all held down with Tombow Xtreme Adhesiver. This adhesive works amazingly!! It does really well with the cork layers as well!! And finally I used the NEW Tombow Foam Tape to adhere my photo and give a bit of depth to my page. I LOVE layers and dimension, and this adhesive helped me to achieve that!

***********************************************************************

To win, visit and comment on the participating blog posts. You have until March 31st at 11:59 EST to comment. A winner will be picked randomly and announced on April 1st 2015.

Shabby Chic Birdhouse With DCWV

Hello all!!! Spring...  was really hoping it was on it's way... but now they are calling for another 30-45 cm of snow this weekend!!! Will it ever end?? LOL!!

However, I was feeling pretty "springy" when I created this project!!  DCWV has recently come out with DIY Project Stacks!! For the beginner crafter, they are fabulous, because they give you everything you need, including instructions!! For the more advanced crafter, they give you a basic design and then it is up to YOU to make it into something more!!! They are awesome!
The stack I used for this project is called Butterflies and Birds. It comes with 3 template sheets, 22 double sided card stock (many with a gorgeous pattern!) and 16 perforated sheets... that make over 800 butterflies! This is a super fun stack! And the colours are TO DIE FOR!!!
I used a birdhouse template that is included with this stack and traced them onto the papers I used... also in the stack. I used ScorTape to adhere it together and then inked the edges using Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Vintage Sepia ink to add a distressed look to the edges. Then came the fun of decorating it!!!
I used some Want2Scrap pearls,  May Arts Lace, Cosmo Cricket tiny Text word strips, Spellbinders die template...and of course the butterflies from this DCWV Stack.
I added some twine to the top so that I can hang it if I decide that I want to. :)
This simple birdhouse has SOOO many options when it comes to personalizing it!! I think If I do one again I will begin with a cardboard base so that I have a more sturdy birdhouse for longer. Because I REALLY like the look of it!!!
This DIY Project Stack, along with 7 others are available at  JoAnn Stores.  So unfortunately we can not get them here in Canada... but if you CAN get them, do so! It's so worth it!! Check out the DCWV blog to see the other fabulous DIY stacks that are available!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
Until next time...

Believe in Yourself : Spellbinders Contemporary Squares

Contemporary Squares border makes for a fun, modern design for a scrapbook page. Although this die is perfect for cards, as you can see, also works perfectly on a page when paired with a 3x4” photo. The die gives a great graphic feel and a masculine look. By using the negatives pieces as well as the actual die cuts, we are able to piece together a fun and detailed focal point, with very little going to waste!!

For full step by step instructions on how I created this page, please visit the Spellbinders blog. I have instructions and step out photos!!

Spellbinders Supplies:

Cross Promotional Partner Products:

Other Supplies:

Patterned Paper; cardstock, Word stickers, enamel dots, paper trimmer, scissors

The extra cuts that we make in this project are not for nothing! Be sure to keep all of those extra pieces and set them aside! They work fabulously for creating a last minute project when you are in a pinch!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Until Next Time,
Happy Creating!

All I Want... with DCWV

Hello all!!!Wowza! What a busy holiday season! As always! :) So I'm a bit later posting this layout than I wanted to be, but that's the way she goes sometimes... :)
Today I am here to share with you a scrapbook page created using DCWV's CANDY CANE LANE Stack®, as well as the WINTER Tag Stack®.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU!
To help create some colour on the background, I used a Crafters Workshop stencil along with my IMAGINE Crafts Memento ink in Tuxedo black with a few drops of irRESISTIBLE Texture spray, also in Tuxedo Black.  A few odds and ends for embellishments, Spellbinders Standard Circles dies to create some rings as well as Snowflake Bliss set for a snowflake... Super simple page to put together, but lots of fun!!

As a finishing touch I used my sewing machine to add a frame (which I PROMISE is straight! LOL!) and to help keep my title down.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! And better late then never with sharing this project I suppose. :)
Be sure to enter my contest here for the Seasons Givings Blog hop!! I am giving away 3 HUGE prize packages!!!
So, until next time... Happy Creating!!

Tombow Design Team Finalist Submission

Today I am thrilled to be able to share with you the project that I created for the Tombow Design Team Finals!! i was sent their Xtreme adhesive... which is 5x stronger than their standard adhesive!! So I decided to really put it to the test!! :) I could NOT decide what medium I wanted to work with... burlap, wood, cork, canvas... this adhesive is said to be fabulous with them all! Since I could not decide I thought "Let's use it all!!" And THAT is what I have done!!

Baby Bliss Mixed Media Mini Album
My album is entirely hand made. I created the base with corrugated cardboard. I covered it with a patterned burlap from DCWV, which I ADORE!!! It adhered beautifully!!

For my binding, I used a different printed burlap, also from DCWV.  I then punches holes and inserted eyelet's. Thru those I laced a beautiful ribbon from May Arts. I adore how this turned out! So soft and feminine!!
Onto my cover, I added strips of lace, ribbon and burlap to join the binding with the front cover. All adhered using the Xtreme adhesive! Then I die cut a Spellbinders Standard Circle from corrugated cardboard and adhered it to the center, with a "baby"die cut in the center. I created circles from twine and wired twine and tied them in "lasso" format. These were adhered using Xtreme adhesive! Yes they were!!! To keep the top layers down I did add a touch of Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. The flowers, twine and greenery on the front were adhered also with the Mono Aqua Liquid glue. A few extra little embellishments and the cover was complete.

For the inside, I created an accordion type fold which really tested the Xtreme adhesive! It held FABLOUSLY!!! I am very impressed!!  On the inside pages I adhered the following using the Xtreme adhesive... Metal embellishments, twine, buttons, chipboard, patterned paper, Wood charms, ribbon, lace and more!!
Here is a little peek at one of the inside pages... LOVE!! I die cut the inside pages using Spellbinders LF-109 Grand Labels Four.
However, I did run into one problem with the Xtreme adhesive... if i were to me completely honest. I ran out before having the opportunity to adhere the inside pages to the base of the book!! :) Yes, I used a LOT of it on this project!! So i decided to try some of my favorite double sided tape instead... BIG problem!! It would NOT HOLD!! AWESOME!!! That shows what a MAJOR difference the Xtreme adhesive made!! So, I will have to hold off on showing you the ENTIRE inside until I have the opportunity to complete it... which I hope will be soon. but for now, I wanted to share the outside and a sneak peak of the inside... More to come, I promise! :)

So my friends, THAT is my project for the Tombow DT finalist callback, using the Xtreme adhesive. What do I think of the adhesive?? I WANT MORE!! I NEED MORE!!! So wish me luck!! :)

You Warm My Heart

Today I am here to share with you a project that I created for a product swap between IMAGINE Crafts and Lawn fawn!!
Now, those of you who know my work know I'm not much of a "cutsie" designer... I have always struggled with working with little animals and such. But today I am happy to say that I LOVED working with the Lawn Fawn stamps!!! They made creating SO easy!! i'm impressed!! :)
So, today on the Imagine Crafts blog, there are a bunch of projects being shared... both video tutorials as well as written!
Here is the project that I have created using the Lawn Fawn SNOW DAYS stamp set!!
I'm still no pro with this style, but I am happy with how this turned out! I ADORE those little bunnies!!!
Now stop on over to the IC blog to view the video and leave me your thoughts! I'd love to hear from you!!
