WFMW- The Perfect Cupcake (using a mix)

Look at these amazing cupcakes Sunshine and I made over the weekend!

They taste EVERY bit as good as they look - maybe even more!

What's "so different" about these cupcakes you ask?

Did I make them from scratch?

NOOOO!

Then why do they TASTE like I made them from scratch?

Well, that little secret is what I'm going to share for this week's

Works for Me Wednesday!

Thanks to my FAB bloggy buddy, Saucy,

{click here to see her blog}

or QUEEN of CUPCAKES, as I like to call her! LOL

Saucy has shared with her readers how to use a box cake mix, but make them taste like homemade from scratch out of this world fabulous!

Do I have your attention NOW?

Look at this beauty! Can't you just TASTE all of it's deliciousness? {sigh}

So what's the secret you say?

Saucy says..........

You will need

1 box mix (any flavor) - but get the good kind, Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker

3 Large Eggs

1/2 cup butter or margarine ( I used butter, I'm SURE it's better - I'm just sayin)

1 cup of water

Then what are you going to do next?

Melt the butter in the microwave.

Then dump all ingredients in your bowl.

Mix on low for 1 min. Then mix on high for 1 min.

You will be amazed that your batter is nice and thick and creamy - not thin and runny like it is when you follow the box instructions.

Fill cupcake papers - Saucy does what I do - she uses an icecream scooper! - One scoop is just the right amount per cupcake!

Pop them in the oven on 350 for 20 minutes.

Let cool.

Then you can frost them with a delicious Buttercream Frosting!!

Hillermann's Pumpkin Pandemonium!

A favorite local business of mine is
Hillermann's Nursery & Florist
.
(in Washington, Mo., 50 miles west of St. Louis)

It's a huge nursery, garden center, florist and gift shop and they know how to put on an event when it comes to the holidays!

Last weekend was their fall Pumpkin Pandemonium!

It's an awesome place to shop and visit with my camera! You can see my visit from last year here on this post Mums and Pumpkins and Gourds...oh my!

As you come thru the front doors, you enter the garden center and gift shop! They have wonderful home and garden decor!

We were in love with the HUGE tree decorated for fall!

Funny little side note- Sunshine and I had only been inside for a few minutes when someone came up to me and recognized me from my blog! LOL I was so tickled, I think I rambled out of nerves for a bit, she said how much she loves my blog, and silly me did not get her name!!

yes, I then walked around with a big head all day after THAT! LOL

kind of like "Flora" the Garden Maven

Their eye-catching displays of pumpkins and mums are inside the greenhouse and out!

I mean look at these! If that doesn't get you in the mood for fall, I don't know what will!

I just had to get a picture of this funny looking gourd we saw.

Outside they have pumpkin painting, a corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides, kettle corn and a hot dog lunch!

After a few hours on the glorious afternoon -

we chose our pumpkins

and loaded up our cart !

Don't you just love that light green pumpkin?

Last year I fell in love with Kale plants - they look really pretty in my planter with mini pumpkins all around it.

The box is full of all the mini pumpkins/gourds.

While we were at Hillermann's, The Bugman was getting cornsalks and more pumpkins from a neighboring farm where he hunts.

Have you gone pumpkin shopping yet? Gosh I could just spend $$$$ on pumpkins, I just {heart} how they look in the yard and around the door!

I've got our yard and porch just about finished - I'll post those pictures soon - it's raining, so I can't take pictures today!!

Anyone know how to get permanent marker off pumpkins? I hate seeing the price on them.

H a p p y F a l l !
