CWC again

During the weekend I cut all the pieces of the Civil War Chronicles Quilt month 12.

Today I patched the first of the 6 inch square border blocks. The first of 68 blocks!

Part 9 of Herbularius is making slow progress. I still have to finish part 10 as well and tomorrow part 11 will be published. And new parts of a lot of other Chatelaines I am stitching.

We caught Casper while he was trying to escape to the garden. We never thought he'd manage to squeeze his body through the gap.

 But he did!

May IHSW

During this IHSW I finished all the quilting of Lynette Anderson's 'My Garden'. I quilted in the ditch of all the stripes around the blocks and hearts in the outer border. Now I still have to make a hanging sleeve and a label and sew all the buttons on their places.
I've also subscribed to Lynette's new Button Club, the Fernhill Mystery. You can see a glimpse of it here.

Herbularius part 10

After finishing the artichokes on the top side I stitched four sections of grape leafs. I had to frog all the satin stitches of the smaller leafs because I used the wrong colour. Sometimes things like that do happen.

Thank you for your visits and your lovely comments.

Lots of birds

I finished another Zweibeiner bird and some more plants.

A picture of both rows. There are two more rows above these two.
But Herbularius was calling very loudly, so I had to stitch the artichokes on the top side. And I will continue with the grape leaves on this side.

DD took this photo of the happy family of coots. The chicks are so adorable with their red heads.

More birdies

On Monday we did some decorating in DD's room. Drilling holes for lamps and frames and hanging shutters in the windows. When we had finished everything we planned to do, DD looked around and pointed out an empty wall. 'The Zweibeiner wall hanging would look great there...', she contemplated. So I started stitching the Zweibeiner wall hanging on Tuesday. This is the bottom row of four, with all different birds and plants. The fabric has printed feathers.

I also finished the top of the chintz quilt last week.
