Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Smooch!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Paper Smooches, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Smooch!  A randomly selected participant in the Smooch challenge will be awarded a $25 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches store, while the LEAD of the challenge will be invited as a guest designer for a future challenge!

I loved the watercolor look of the inspiration graphic, so watercolored the image from Blossoming Buds with distress markers in lipstick shades. I love the floral cluster so much I kept the rest of the card simple - a vellum overlay on a woodgrain base. This a really gorgeous set to work with!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Get Well!

Hi there! I'm popping in with a card today for both the Catered Crop Good Medicine Recipe Swap and the Paper Smooches Picture Perfect challenge.

I definitely have cause to make a Get Well card - both my guys are under the weather this weekend, so I'm playing nurse! The Paper Smooches inspiration was this cool photo...

The outline flowers on the aqua bottle made me think of the gorgeous Blossoming Buds stamp set!

I stamped the large floral cluster from Blossoming Buds in Memento Gray Flannel and coloured with copics. I added some shimmer and shine with a clear Wink of Stella pen and some stickles. I've used the Retro Arrow die for the background, and added in the hello die cut from the Hello Word Dies. The paper is the excellent Burlap and Bouquets pad (on sale now!) The sentiment was stamped in Memento Luxe Teal Zeal. I finished with a few enamel dots. You can check out what's new at i {heart} papers right here

Thanks for stopping by!

Mickey Mouse Birthday Card

Hello! I thought I'd pop in tonight and share what always turns out to be my favourite card of the year - Jackson's birthday card! We had a fabulous weekend with his grandparents flying in, and a Mickey party to celebrate. I can't believe this little dude is two!

The current Recipe Swap at Catered Crop is Manly Men

Father's Day isn't until September here in NZ, so I'm focusing on the card for my little man!

Looking through my substanial paper stash, I relised just how little paper I had featuring primary colors - this is an old Pink Paislee collection, Hometown Summer.

I printed a giant "2" on paper (Font is Minnie, size was 300pt) and used it as a template to cut black and red cardstock. I added punched circle ears and some sponging. The sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches. I embellished with some glittery stars cut with Verve's Starry Die.

Here's a peek inside the card...

Shanan and I like to write letters to Jackson each year, so his birthday cards always feature a pocket. I added more stars and some stitched detail.

I'll be sure to share lots of party photos just as soon as I finish downloading all the photos! Till then, I hope you'll join us at Catered Crop!

Paper Smooches Hello Cutie

I am having a blast this month as Guest Designer for Paper Smooches, these stamps and dies are just so happy! I think that's what I love best about Paper Smooches, they always make me smile.

My clean and simple card today started with the Hello Word Dies. I inked the chevron from Kissables 2 first in Blu Raspberry (MFT) ink, then again in Neon Pink (Hero Arts) Where the two overlapped, I got this gorgeous purple. Psychedelic!

I stamped the ink blots from Just a Note in the same inks, and the sentiment from Scripty Sayings in black. The adorable teeny camera is from We Totally Click, I attached a clear sequin as the lens, and filled it with Crystal Effects.

You can also find Paper Smooches stamps HERE at i {heart} papers and Paper Smooches dies HERE. I've also used Neon ink on my card!

Thanks for visiting today!

Guest Designing for Paper Smooches!

Hello friends! I'm SO excited to be guest designing for Paper Smooches this month! This has been on my crafty bucket list for awhile now and I'm having a blast creating with the amazing new release.

I combined four new stamp sets on this card! The Polaroid die was stamped with one of the backgrounds from Kissables 2 in Golden Glitz ink. The sentiment from Scripty Sayings was stamped over a paint sweep from Positive Strokes. The quill from Just a Note was coloured with copics. The hello is from the new Hello Words Dies set, I layered a couple together so they'd really stand out.

I finished with some enamel dots from Doodlebug. You can also find Paper Smooches at the i {heart} papers store! Stamps are here and the dies are here.

Hello! Welcome to a very special blog hop...

Kate (owner of i {heart} papers) suggested an idea to Kim Hughes to create stamps and dies to support our rescued furry friends. They worked together to create some really fun dog rescue products! A portion of the sales will be donated to Home for Good. Kim asked us to share these fun products with you, through our projects.

To add extra fun to our blog hop...we are offering up a prize!

  • TWO winners will be chosen at RANDOM from any of the design team blogs.
  • The prize - A Lucky Dog stamp set, Paws for a Cause stamp set and Dog Icons dies.
  • Just leave a comment on any of the design team blogs listed for your chance to win! (you do not need to comment on all blogs to qualify but it increases your chances)
  • You have until midnight MT on Wednesday, December 18th to leave a comment.
  • Please check the IHP Blog on Friday, December 20th to see if you are one of the TWO lucky winners.

I LOVE Paper Smooches, adore dogs and think this cause is fantastic, so I'm super excited to be involved in this very special blog hop! I inked up the puppy from Paws for a Cause with Memento Espresso Truffle ink - in fact I've used the same ink all through the card!

The papers are Color Wash by Pink Paislee, the embossing folder is Whimsy by Lifestyle Crafts and I've also used my fave white twine and enamel dots. The sentiment is from Lucky Dog. You can see the matching dies here - love these!

Here's the inside of my card...

I think this is such a beautiful sentiment. I hope this card gathers dust forever, but it's so nice to have something to comfort when needed.

BAM!

Hi friends! I have a clean and simple card for you today, featuring some fun Paper Smooches stamps I've had in my stash for ages now. I finally found time to ink them up!

I wanted my hero to look like he was kinda punching through the card, so I cut the Bam Bubbles die and cut a slit to slip him into. The sentiment was created with some HUGE thickers and I've added some sequins. I'm playing along with the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge, and the CAS red and white challenge at SCS.

Here's the inside of my card...

I embossed the sentiment onto the larger Bam Bubble - love these dies!

I shopped at i {heart} papers for my supplies today! The stamps are Paper Smooches Super, the die is the Bam Bubble, and I've also used some white sequins. You'll find many more goodies in store, head on over, take a peek at what's new and say hi from me!

Thanks for stopping by!

Chevrons, Sequins and Jars!

Hi peeps! I had some time to just play with some fun i {heart} papers supplies, and wanted to share my quick card inspired by a couple of challenges!

Cas-ual Fridays wanted to see sequins and chevrons - LOVE! two of my fave things right now! I still can't get enough of this Paper Smooches Crystal Clear set, so the Catered Crop Canning Jar Recipe Swap was on my mind too. Lastly, the Moxie Fab Metal, Wood and Cork challenge inspired my woodgrain thanks die cut word (I did cheat and make mine out of a couple of layers of wood grain paper!)

The jar was stamped on vellum and layed on a chevron bitty bag. I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler right on the bag. I've been loving angled panels out in blog land, so wanted to give it a shot. The papers are from The Pier. Lastly, I added some white sequins.

Here's the simple inside...

Thanks for stopping by!

Warm Thoughts

Hello creative friends! It's time for another Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This week the challenge is tool time - use an edge punch (no dies!). I wanted to play along with the Paper Smooches designer drafts challenge, this is such a classic sketch!

Here's my card...

I stamped the jar on vellum, trimmed around it and adhered it over the flowers using a zig zag stitch. One of the things I love most about clear stamps is being able to manipulate them a little, here I've bent the flower stems to create a little scene.

After stamping the flowers I used ink and a waterbrush to paint directly onto the image for a little colour variation - I love how this looks!

I cut multiple borders with the Effervescent punch and overlapped them so the smaller holes were peeking through the larger.

I shopped at i {heart} papers for my supplies today! The stamps are Paper Smooches - Crystal Clear and Sentiment Sampler, the paper is The Pier - Crate Paper, and I've also used the Garden inks from Hero Arts and some sequins. You'll find many more goodies in store, head on over, take a peek at what's new and say hi from me!

Here's a peek at the inside of my card...

Sympathy cards are never easy to make, but I hope this one will bring comfort.
