Pretty Addictions Mineral Cosmetics Review: Not Coming Home Alone Tonight

Pretty Addictions Mineral Cosmetics is an online makeup store created by Kassandra of Pretty Addictions Blog. Sounds familiar? Well, I featured Kassandra in a Spotlight post a couple months ago, which you can read here.

Pretty Addictions Mineral Cosmetics offers a Blogger/YouTube/Promoter Special of $18.75 worth of products for $12 (and a mini package of $6.75 worth of products for $5). There were 3 different collections available for this promotion and I chose "Not Coming Home Alone Tonight". I received a full sized blush, a 10g jar of eyeshadow, 5g jar of eyeshadow, a clamshell sample and a bag sample.

I also purchased another 10g jar eyeshadow and because I spent over $15, I received a 5g jar of the eyeshadow of the week FOR FREE!

...and this deal wasn't good enough, SHIPPING IS ONLY $2! My whole order totaled to about $20.

All photos are clickable. Click for a closer look!

The Big "O" is a shimmery peach blush. It comes in a 20g jar (Retail Value: $7.50), which has a sifter. It applies smoothly but I have to be very careful to apply lightly because the shimmer can be a little too much for me.

Silver Screen is a silver shimmer eyeshadow. I received this eyeshadow in a 10g jar (Retail Value: $5.50). The color payoff is great!

Wicked is a deep purple eyeshadow with some shimmer. I received this eyeshadow in a 5g jar (Retail Value: $3.50). This is a great crease color.

Locked and Loaded is a gunmetal grey eyeshadow with irridescent glitter that I received in a clamshell sample (Retail Value: $1.25). This is another great crease color but I apply this lightly so I don't end up looking like a racoon haha!

Pina Colada is a white shimmer eyeshadow that I love using in the inner corners of my eyes and as a highlight. Unfortunately, Pretty Addictions no longer sells bag samples so I cannot give you the Retail Value, but this does come in clamshell sample size, 5g jar and 10g jar.

Now here is the eyeshadow I purchased (seperate price from the Blogger Package):

25 Karat Gold is a straight up gold eyeshadow that I am SO IN LOVE WITH. Honestly, I don't think I will ever love another eyeshadow as much as I love this one. The color payoff is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING, I kid you not! I mean, the swatch above is only one light swipe from the eyeshadow. I purchased the 10g jar (Retail Value: $6) because this is a Limited Edition eyeshadow so I did not want to take a chance only buying the 5g (because I knew I was going to love it before I even bought it!).

Free Eyeshadow of the Week (for spending over $15):

Vintage Doll is a light, rusty pink with irredescent glitter. I received a 5g jar (Retail Value: $3.50). This is a beautiful, soft pink eyeshadow that would also look great on the cheeks!

Overall, I really love Pretty Addictions Mineral Cosmetics company. Trust me - I placed another order a week after purchasing this one! Kassandra provides awesome customer service and great deals.

Kassandra regularly hosts contests and holds sales. The best place to find out is by "Liking" Pretty Addictions Facebook page and following the Twitter page.

NaildeRoyale.com has such a great selection of products and wonderful customer service. The prices DEFINITELY aren't bad either.

Spotlight: Selena Quintanilla-Perez

One of the greatest performers to have ever lived in my eyes is Selena Quintanilla-Perez. For those of you who do not know of Selena, she was singer, songwriter and designer, among other things. She met her untimely death at the very young age of 23, when she was murdered by Yolanda Saldivar, the president of her fan club.

Spotlight: drewby1xo

Its about that time again to step aside from the normal posts of nail polish and body products! Today's Spotlight post will be showcasing another very talented YouTube star.

Her name is Drew (drewby1xo) and she makes YouTube videos covering songs and adding her own flare to them! I absolutely love this girl's voice. Honestly, this girl is amazing!! Check out her cover of "Blow" by Ke$ha. If you have ever heard the original, it is a load of crap compared to Drew's version. Check out her YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe to her!

Spotlight and LUSH Frog Prince

A little while ago I entered into moondog1997 YouTube contest to win a LUSH Frog Prince bath bomb. Well, guess what? I WON! I was very excited because as I stated in a previous post, my local LUSH closed down and I haven't had a chance or the funds to go to another LUSH to buy the Valentine's Day products.

Before I show you my prize, I want to tell you a little about moondog1997. This YouTube channel is run by two sisters who have a strong love for LUSH! The older sister (sorry I don't know her name!) does all the technical stuff including filming, editing and posting the videos. Elisabeth, the younger sister, does all the reviews, bath cocktails and demonstrations on film!

My prize came wrapped up so cute in red tissue paper with adorable stickers! I was so glad that it arrived in one piece. I will be reviewing this in an upcoming post with a possible demo. Just wanted to give you guys a peek at him!

SPOTLIGHT: A BLOG YOU NEED TO VISIT!

Once in a while I come across a blog or website that I will visit constantly, excited for new content.

In the Pink of Things is a beauty blog written by Amelia, "mid-twenties girl, student, make-up artist and blogger" (according to the site's "About Me" section). This blog was recommended to me by a friend and I have been hooked since!

What I love about this blog is the writer's spunk, her articles are silly yet full of information on many of todays beauty products. Every article includes a few essential pictures and short descriptions. Simple and straight to the point = a great blog!

Be sure to visit In the Pink of Things, you won't be disappointed!

QUICK SPOTLIGHT: AJ RAFAEL and ALBERT POSIS

I LOVE YouTube. That may even be an understatement. The amount of talent that can be found on this website is immense, as many of you already know.

There is one video that I found on YouTube that I have not stopped playing. It is a cover of Justin Beiber's "That Should Be Me" mixed with Tae Yang's "Wedding Dress". This cover is done by YouTube sensations AJ Rafael and Albert Posis.

This cover is AMAZING and I honestly have to say that I prefer this over the original. Sorry Beiber fans, sometimes someone else does it better!

Check out the video below and don't forget to check out their YouTube channels! (linked above).

SPOTLIGHT: RUSSELL PETERS - "be a man!"

Russell Peters on the Red carpet.Image via Wikipedia

Russell Peters, a stand-up comedian, was born on September 29, 1970 in Canada and is of Indian descent.

Peters began performing in his hometown of Toronto, Canada  in 1989 and has since performed all over the world. He has had sold-out shows in many countries including Canada, United States and Australia.

Peters has appeared on numerous television shows and has been featured in five DVDs.

If you are offended by profanity and racial jokes then you probably shouldn't watch. In my opinion Peters jokes are in good fun and if they weren't he would not be as successful as he is =]

Below are a few clips of Comedian Russell Peters in action. I could write a million things about Peters, but you have to experience his talent!

SPOTLIGHT: KINA GRANNIS

Photograph of singer/songwriter Kina GrannisImage via Wikipedia

On top of everything else in this blog, I will sometimes do a "spotlight" on a person that I feel should be recognized or someone that I find interesting. This can be anyone: musicians, actors, activists or just an everyday person with a great story.

Today's spotlight is on singer/songwriter Kina Grannis.

This 24 year old singer from Los Angeles, California had released three independent albums by 2006: Sincerely, Me; One More in the Attic and In Memory of the Singing Bridge.

Grannis' popularity began to rise from her YouTube channel, which she began on November 14, 2007. Since then, her channel has recieved over 3.7 million views and her total upload views surpass 43 million.

In 2008, Kina Grannis entered the Doritos® Crash the Super Bowl contest. Grannis was the winner and her video for "Message from Your Heart" aired during that year's Super Bowl game. This launched her career and she was soon signed to Interscope Records.

Kina Grannis left Interscope Records in 2009 and has indepedently released her 4th album "Stairwells" in February 2010, which features "Message from Your Heart" and her single "Valentine".

My Opinion:
My favorite videos of hers, besides her music related videos, are the ones in which she recognizes her fans. She records videos showing the things that are sent to her and you can truely see that she is loved by her fans. Her appreciation for her fans is incredible and I hope to see more from her in the future.

Check out her YouTube channel and her website (linked above) for more on Kina Grannis.

EDIT:
Kina Grannis is on Twitter! Send her a tweet!
