This isn't pristine FM but it is enjoyable. This is the last show of the 1979/1980 world tour, and a sort of home comeback for Sting. BBC broadcasted this show a bit less than a week after the gig took place. The band played two shows (hence the short duration of each single gig) and this is the late show.

16 - don't stand so close to me > 3:57 (cuts in slightly)
17 - can't stand losing you 9:15 (w/be my girl and band introductions around 6:00)

(presumably there may have been a "so lonely" encore, but it is not included in this recording. maybe not too, since the last 2 tracks are encores.)

runtime: 81:01 (minutes/seconds)

notes
it's most of a high energy show. there is some crowd obstruction and loud clapping in a few parts but most of it sounds pretty good. a section of walking on the moon is missing but spliced, so it's probably not even noticable. Sting mentions playing there a few months earlier and screws up the lyrics near the end of Roxanne. overall it was a good performance though. recording was said to be made on a boom box type recorder.

The Police were so good this night that the audience would not let them leave. As you will hear Sting explain, they ran out of songs to perform so they played "Can't Stand Losing You" twice. The final encore is a killer. Enjoy this one.

05 - Be My Girl-Sally
06 - Peanuts
07 - Roxanne
08 - Landlord
09 - Next To You

Nice FM broadcast from The Police US tour supporting the Roxanne single. That's a full set mius Can't Stand Losing You (played twice) and Truth Hits Everybody. It get cuts off just prior to the band starting the encore. But it sounds warm and powerful performance, typical for the band in the late 70's. Sting clearly refers to Buffalo a few times, so no doubt on the venue there.

Nice average recording, with average hiss from a very old tape. There is some flanging effect on side B of the tape (disc 2), possibly due to the tape age. Stewart and Sting aren't too much synchronized at the start of Can't stand..

Notes:
As far as I know, this is the most complete audience source of this show. Why Bring On the Night is missing is beyond me. I am guessing that Walking On the Moon is half missing due to a tape flip. The sound here is excellent. Some of the detail on the soundboard is lost here. Too bad, as the board makes the show seem a bit more animated from the on-stage banter heard there.

This was a transfer done around 2003 of a tape I had since the late 1990s. Overall, I think this is a good show and Sting seems to be in a playful mood. Nothing too unusual happens here, outside of Sting mentioning that Stewart was born in Birmingham.

This is a Incomplete show. This is a very nice capture of the band - sound is exceptional. This is the fith night of their first US tour in 79. They played for 9 months here in the states. This was taken from Album 2 of "I was born in the 50's" double vinyl bootleg by Edinburgh Records that was released in 1980 - Sides A & B recorded live in Hatfield, England on 7 June, 1979. Sides C & D recorded live in Kansas City, USA on 15 March, 1979 which  the Silver CD "I Was Born For Success" was created.

This is a different version that you can find on bootlegs "I Was Born For Success" or "Stick Out - Sting In". Its the full show, broadcasted on an american radio in 1979. I received this show from a trade. Another great FM recording, during the first American Tour of The Police.
