Each tape was my own master tape. This is the FM broadcast of the festival, not the video soundtrack, and it comes from my master tapes. Both days of the festival were recorded, then diced & sliced to make up the many broadcasts that Doc McGee had licensed out. There were FM radio broadcasts, and pay-per-views, different cable systems had different versions of the broadcast. My pay-per-view had different songs than my friend 2 cities away.

This recording shows some of the technical problems, some apparent like Skid Row's sound, their set sounds like it was the sound check. Ozzy's intro music is still playing 2 minutes into 'I Don't Know.' You can hear bleed-through from technicians setting up and checking mics for the next band periodically through out the entire show, during other bands' sets. I missed the beginning of 'Hound Dog' due to a tape flip, so I faded that in. I took out the interviews and sound bites between sets, as well as the commercials, so there are fades-in between each band's set."

Real nice early SKIDROW show at Club Citta in Japan !!

The Palladium video stuff is cool, but when they are jamming the mikes are way overloaded and sounds garbled. Wish I had editing ability to cut that stuff out & just have to Citta gig... but it is what it is.... ENJOY !!

And we turn to one of the better of the late 80's/early 90's "hair" bands. Despite the pretty-boy image of Sebastian Bach, the band had a ferocious groove, one that got harder with each successive album.

It would have been easy for Skid Row to make another version of their debut album each time around, but they worked harder and in fact got progressively better with each release. SLave to the Grind was a huge step from the S/T album, and Subhuman Race was even better than that. Unfortunately, by the time Subhuman Race was released, grunge had taken over, and the Skid Row album had more or less been relegated to obscurity. I think it's the band's best. Unfortunately, it would be Bach's last, as he would break away for a so-called "solo" career.

Here is a very good sounding FM show from Japan. You can tell the band loves playing here because they have a great energy and Sebastian frequently speaks to the crowd in Japanese.
