Green seems big this season.  Emerald, jade, and evergreen are springing from racks like leaves.  Then again, I've been seeing lots of burgundy too.  So maybe it's more of a Christmas thing and not a trend.  Either way, I'm in.

I especially love when green winks at western, like in my equestrian blouse.  When I saw it in Boscov's, I was immediately transported back to the '90s.  Tween me had at least one turtleneck sporting a stable motif, and I thought it was all the rage.  So I bought the blouse.  Because it was fun and fed that nostalgia.  Even if it also brought back memories of getting made fun of for my outfits -- and for saying things like "all the rage."  It was a nice reminder that my world has grown so much since then.

And that believing in your style -- and yourself -- is the happy trail Holy Grail.

Old trinkets of the trove.

Whenever I post a new crop of fits, I search for what ties them together.  Sometimes it's a no-brainer.  Other times, my mind is as empty as a clearance rack the day after Christmas.  But I'm always determined to find a common thread (pun intended) anyway.  So I scrutinized the fits in this trio.  Sure, they're rustic and moody, befitting autumn's melancholy.  But that wasn't what I was after.  So I persevered and pondered and figured it out.  Because this hodgepodge has -- and this will get weird, but then again, when does it not? -- hints of harvest hues, namely pumpkins, plums, and pickles.  Or, if you're a stickler, pumpkins, beets, and gourds.  But I wouldn't eat a gourd, and neither should you.

Which gets us out of -- and into -- that pickle.

Just kidding.  Glam is never a gamble, and I'll never draw a line in the sand when it comes to a desert motif.

So in the tradition of the laconic cowboy (and Forrest Gump), that's all I have to say about that.

Logistically speaking, sunbeams don't scream.  Unless, of course, it's summer, and even then they don't scream so much as scorch the skin of careless beachgoers.  But the phrase sounded good so I used it, despite the winter chill that still stings the air.

To that end, here are some very yellow -- and very boho -- outfits.  I wore the first one to Valentine's dinner with the husband and the other two to run errands.  (I don't run errands often, so when I do, I make the most of it.)  None of the clothes are maternity except for the leggings.  The yellow sweater is one of my favorites, and when I saw myself in the mirror, I thought, yep, you can tell she's really in there.  Which was kind of crazy but also cool.

Even if it did make me fret about someday soon protecting her from the sun.
