You know how hotels are known for having bad paintings?  And how '90s décor was big on abstract designs and pastels?  Well, when I bought this top last winter, it reminded me of a so-bad-it's-good painting that would've hung in a Marriott circa 1995.

It also reminded me of a bedspread I bought in the early 2000s, long after this tacky trend had expired.  What can I say?  I like what I like, and sometimes what I like looks like it should stay trapped on VHS.

In other news, earlier this week we got a dusting of snow, as evidenced in some of these pictures.  Although it was pretty, I was grateful to be working from the command center known as my couch.  Back in the day, if I was out when flakes started to fall, I'd be a wreck, white-knuckling it all the way home.  And now, just like that, it's no longer a worry.  Thanks, pandemic!

And thanks, also, hotel paintings.  Especially the one that Jeff Goldblum's self-loathing artist flung into the ocean in Nine Months.

I hope you made some mermaid happy.
