You'd think that after all these years, I'd be over my country kitsch schtick.  That I'd get real with myself and say, face it, Tracy, you're a Jersey girl.  But aside from the occasional impulse to set up my tripod at a nearby abandoned gas station, I'm uninspired by my suburban surroundings.  So instead, I put on one of my many pairs of cowboy boots and imagine that my yard is a speck in a stretch of wide, open spaces.  Delusional?  Sure.  But it's probably wise.

Intriguing or not, that gas station seems suspect.

Chances are, you got snowed in last weekend.  As you (may) know, I don't like snow.  It's cold and wet and, above all, dangerous.  So when the flakes fell, I was happy to stay inside and (while Charlotte napped) play dress-up.  The theme?  Maroon!  Because 1) I'd worn a maroon dress for my birthday and wanted to do a trifecta and 2) maroon makes an ideal backdrop for my new necklaces.

Being marooned in maroon was a bonus.

That said, I hope you stayed cozy doing something you love -- even if the only ice in your life was clinking in your Coca-Cola.

I'm very much into contrasts.  You know, old jeans with stilettos, chocolate-covered potato chips, and ballgown BBQs.  (That last one's not a thing, but it sounds fun, doesn't it?)  Anyway, I heart how opposites make each other stand out.  So I decided to try it with my fit pics.  I wore heels by the husband's power tools, a dress by Charlotte's swing, and a bow in front of the shed.  My new Balance Gleam Necklace fit right in, its '90s-inspired yin yang a reminder that opposites are puzzle pieces of harmony.  Because this is where I live -- and this is how I look.

Or at least it is when I'm not in my robe, eating something I shouldn't.
