Retro Sketches #21

I have a bunch of birthdays coming up in the month of August, including several men, so here is a masculine b-day card using this week's Retro Sketches sketch and of course Paper Smooches!

Here is the sketch that I used:

The tag is from PTI and so is the cardstock. The label die is from Nestabilities. The grid background is from Market Street Stamps.

The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and the ribbon is from SU. The red twine is Martha Stewart.

The corduroy button is from SU.

Also, before I leave tonight, I wanted to let you know about some great blog candy that is being offered up by my friend Moriah's dog, Cad! Check it out here :)

April Market Street Block Party & FMS #32

Well, tomorrow is back to work after a wonderful two week vacation! We traveled down to FL in our camper and spent time with most of our family. Phillip and I are both from FL, so all of our family is still down there (we live in MA now). I made this card for his grandparents. For a few nights we stayed at the Highlands Hammock State Park with 3 generations of Davises all in a row with our campers. It was a lot of fun.

This card uses Market Street Stamps. I'm playing along with this month's Block Party.

And also with this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

Are these marshmallows not the cutest? We did roast them over the fire one night. Did you know they sell flavored ones now? I got coconut and let me tell you a coconut marshmallow s'more with dark chocolate and chocolate graham crackers is divine!

I Just love this adorable little camper. All stamps and the sentiment are from MSS. The woodgrain paper is from Amuse. The ribbon is from SU, and the double ended banner die is from PTI (and so is the cardstock). Images were colored with Copics.

And now a few pics from our trip. I put many more on FB, but here are a few cute shots:

These first two pictures are at the Highlands Hammock campground. We took a nice long walk with the dogs and took some pics in front of this cool tree. That is my mother and father in law with us in the pics.

My mom is the photographer, so I don't have any pics of me and my nephew Liam (whose first birthday party we were able to attend while we were there!) or my parents yet, as those photos are on her camera. But I was able to snag this cute shot of me and my 6 month old niece, Autumn :)

And on the last night there I got this photo of my SIL, Whitney, on the left and my sister, Jamie, on the right.

We had such a great time, but boy did it go by so fast! Every single day we had plans, so I'm glad we got back on Friday so we could have a couple days of rest before going back to work. After getting to spend time with my family, I now miss them terribly, though. To end on a funny note, though, after living in the camper for two weeks, everything in our house seems so incredibly huge!

Market Street Stamps March Block Party

Every month Market Street Stamps has a Block Party and its really fun to play along. I recently purchased the Hippie Chic stamp set used from a stamping friend, so I decided I'd play with it for the party. Here's the card I created:

I paper pieced the dress form in woodgrain paper from Amuse and gingham Dark Chocolate paper from PTI. I colored the guitar with Copics, and stamped the sentiment right onto the PTI kraft ribbon. I tied the Twinery twine around the ribbon.

The Venetian patterned paper is also from Amuse.

My dad always tells the story of how when he met my mom, all he saw were her legs in her fringed skirt when she was carrying her guitar. This card reminds me of that story :)

Want to play along with this month's party, too? You could win a chance to be a guest designer for Market Street Stamps. Get all the details here.

Paper Dolls: Spring Bling

I am really excited to be a member of a very talented group of ladies called The Paper Dolls. They've been around for over a year now (maybe two?) and have their own challenge blog! This is my first time participating as a member of the Dolls. I played along with the first challenge of the year put on by Suzanne and Renee, Spring Bling. You can check it out, here. Now on to my card:

I just got my PTI package in the mail yesterday, and in there was the Little Bitty Bird Additions set (I actually don't own the original, but you don't need it because this one comes with its own birds!) The fence, music notes, birds, and sentiments are from the set. I also used the Mat Stack #5 die in kraft.

The Double Ended Banner Die was in my package, too. At the shoebox swap I went to last Saturday, Sarah used it in this way by scoring it, and I thought it was such a great idea!

The grid stamp is from Market Street Stamps, the ribbon is from Amuse, and the cardstock is from PTI. And how could I forget an important part of the challenge? Bling!! I used a whole row of rhinestones to the left of the ribbon to fulfill this aspect ;)

This challenge was easy and fun, and there's still time to play along, so go check it out and link up your card!

And don't forget to check back tonight (or tomorrow) because its time for another round of the 12 Kits of Christmas :)

Market Street Stamps Paint the Town #12

I decided to make a little thank-you card for my friend Gerry who came to my Amuse party on Saturday with a beautiful bouquet of tulips for me! Here is the card using my fabulous MSS prize from a couple of releases ago:

And here are the colors I used (my "peacock" I'm just now realizing is not quite as peacock as the one in the picture, but still in the same family, I suppose):

I guess I made up for it by actually using a peacock :) Isn't this bird great! I used PTI's Hawaiian shores and colored some of the hearts in with Copics. The mat stack is from PTI and is #5. I also used PTI edgers dies to create the scallops on top, and a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the dots.

This great sentiment came with the set, too :)

The twine is from the Twinery and the rhinestones are from Q & Co.

There's still time to play, so why don't you head over and give it a shot, here!

CPS #254 & cQc #126

Here's a birthday card I created for my husband's Great Aunt:

I used this week's colors from ColourQ:

And this week's sketch from CPS:

This cute little apron stamp is from Market Street Stamps, and so is the "souper" sentiment!

The border die is from PTI, and all the patterned papers are from a SU DSP pack. The circles were cut out of SU and PTI cardstock with a SU 1 inch circle punch. The twine is from The Twinery.

I'm not sure where the little clothespin is from, I just happened to find a bag of them at work in the craft closet, but it was just the right color and went perfectly with the theme of this card.

I decided to do the polka dots on the bottom layer because the cQc photo inspired me to do so. I ended up only working half a day yesterday and came home and rested, and now I feel almost back to normal, I'm even going to go to Zumba this morning (but take it easy). After going to this frozen yogurt place two separate times and getting sick in the middle of the night after each (the first time was in FL when I got so sick and had to be quarantined from the babies in Oct.!), you can bet I won't ever be going back there!

Market Street Stamps February Block Party & CPS #253

I'm joining in on Market Street Stamps February Block Party and the CPS Sketch for this week. With both challenges, I created this card:

There's still time to join in on the fun at MSS, go check it out here.

Here's the CPS sketch that I utilized:

The stamps and sentiment are from Market Street Stamps. The Mat is Mega Mat Stack 1 from PTI, and the cardstock and patterned paper are also PTI. The library clip and heart are from SU. The twine is from The Twinery.

I lined the edges of the compass, sentiment, and Dearest Jane paper with PTI's tea dye duo.

I didn't make this one for anyone specific, but I think that it could definitely work as a masculine card one day. I'll hold it in my stash. It could be used for more than one occasion, so we'll see where it ends up :)

Paper Smooches Sparks

Time for another Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.

This card was inspired by...

This picture from Pinterest that PS offered us for this challenge. Head on over to the Sparks blog to give it a shot yourself here.

I used some really old scrapbooking pinking shears scissors (that I can't believe I still had, LOL!) to cut around the SU Sizzix heart die that I used to give it the look from the picture. I thought about sewing on it, too, but decided to just go for twine wrapped around the heart.

The background is from Market Street Stamps and I thought it gave the kraft paper a look sort of similar to the mesh in the background of the photo. The bat and sentiment are of course from Falling For You.

The twine is from Divine Twine and the cardstock is PTI, all other supplies are listed above. Thanks for stopping by to check out my card :)
