CAS(E) this Sketch #2 & CFC75

CAS(E) this Sketch #2

I'm here to play along with the second CAS(E) this Sketch challenge! Here is the sketch we were given:

This card is also for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, to create a card with an element that hangs over the edge (my banner).

I used Paper Smooches "Happy Camper," and "Sentiment Sampler." The patterned paper, die, and cardstock are all from PTI.

I want to say thank you SO much for the outpouring of congratulations comments and emails I have received about my new spot on the PSSparks DT! It really means so much, I can't stop smiling! I appreciate all of you so very much! I feel so loved :)

CAS-ual Fridays #72

IMG_6643

I thought this was the best idea for a challenge....make a card that looks like your blog header! I am really lucky that I have the most fun and colorful blog header that Suzanne made for me last year for my birthday...I love it! It was a lot of fun to recreate. I used all Paper Smooches birds, from 5 different sets! "Green Acres," "Forest Whimsy," "Little Lady," "My Peeps," and "Santa Paws." Then I used the sentiment from "Simply Said," and the music notes from "Perpetual Bliss." The washi tape is from Target, the scallop punch from SU, the twine from the Twinery, and the cardstock from PTI. The pearls are from Q and Co. The one above was my second take, and more CAS appropriate. Below is the first card I created:

I used more washi tape to represent all the fun polka dots on my blog. Which of the two do you like better?

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts: September 2012 & CFC: #70

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts: Sept. 2012

Here is my weekly addition to the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge, this week a sketch! Sketches are already my favorite. I used two PS sets on this card, the trees are from Autumn Grooves and everything else is from Spookalicious. I looked through all my PS sets to find a bow I could use for my ghost, but there was nothing that would work, so I just made my own. Here is the sketch I used:

I'm also entering this card into this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge which was to use black and white and one other color.

So I used orange for this fun and cutesy Halloween card :) I heat embossed the trees with white embossing power. At first I couldn't find my embossing buddy, and it came out terribly! Next I hunted it down and my what a difference it made! If you don't have one, you should definitely get one. The ribbon is from PTI. You have plenty of time to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, so go on over and check it out! Sparks is due tomorrow, though, sorry!

CASual Fridays #69

Edited to add my new and improved photo! I figured out how to edit the background from my Canon to make it look white! I am very happy with how the photo turned out :)

Cat2

One of my friends suddenly lost her cat last week. One day she was fine, the next she was acting strange, so my friend took her to the vet, and she had a heart attack :( I know how much my pets mean to me, so I know how terribly she must be feeling. I made this card for her using this week's CASual Fridays challenge which is to use embossing.

I know I've been talking about it a lot, so here it finally is...my new light box! I made it out of white foam board taped together with painter's tape. The 3 lights on the top are 120 watt daylight flood lights that are clipped to the foam board. I can't believe how bright it makes the card! That was my first step. Next I need to learn how to use the Canon Rebel 300 that my mom gave me when she upgraded. Anyone have one and have any tips? The above photo is still on my phone because I couldn't get the one from the camera to look white enough. Anyway, you will be seeing more changes in my photos in the coming weeks. Any advice is always appreciated! Here's a pic of my new box in action:

Here is a funny story...I just went to get those lights from Home Depot, and that is it. Well, when I got home and Phillip saw what they were he was like that cashier must have thought you were going to grow marijuana, because those are the lights they use! I was like oh my gosh, how embarrassing! But then I thought I was "saved" because I went through the self checkout...and he's like "I bet everyone who buys those goes through self checkout." LOL!

So anyway, I used an older SU set on my card. The doily is from PTI, the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. The embossing folder is from SU, and the twine from the Twinery. The little label punch is also from SU.

CFC60: Text Me

Hi :)

This week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to use text in your clean and simple card. I knew I wanted to use this adorable professor from Paper Smooches, and naturally the alphabet goes well with a teacher, so that is how this card came to fruition.

Isn't it great that h and i fall right next to each other in the alphabet? I decided to highlight them in a deeper shade of blue to stand out. Then I didn't need a sentiment, either!

I just love this little professor. He makes me smile so :)

The cardstock and letter dies are from PTI. Sorry for the two posts in one day, but this challenge is about to run out and I have another that I have to post in the morning so I don't miss it, either! Hope you are having a great week, happy "hump" day!

CAS-UAL Fridays #57

When I saw that the prize for this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge was to win SIX Paper Smooches stamp sets, you KNOW I was on board :) Here is the card I created using Papertrey Ink's Clearly Creative Cardstock (aka acetate):

Recognize these flip flops? I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of them ;) The patterned papers are from the PTI Aqua Mist Collection and Summer Sunrise Collection.

These clouds are a MFT die. The acetate I've had ever since my very first PTI order, but I have never used it! I'm glad there was a challenge to get me to open the package, because this stuff is pretty cool! It reminds me of transparencies from school, when the teachers would use them on the overhead projectors.

The twine is from the Twinery, the sentiment is from the flip flop set, and the "sand dunes" are from PTI's In the Meadow dies.

I have someone in particular in mind to send this card to. She loves flip flops! Summer sure did come in with a bang here yesterday...97 degrees. I grew up in this kind of heat in FL, but I still can't get used to it up here in New England...where there is no central air in most homes (including mine!), and of course where the hottest day of the year I had a boat trip scheduled with the residents, and the rear AC in the van didn't work...I melted. Hope you had a nice day to ring in the summer!
