Hi all! Yesterday was my birthday as well as the holiday and we had a really great day! My friend Dawn and I went out to breakfast at Shady Maple (smorgasbord...oink!) and we chatted until noon, she made a small cake for me, then I came home to some "birthday pie" (Kara's idea since "mommy loves pie the most."), I had a little crafting time, Hailey and Nate joined us for the rest of the day, and then ALL of us went to see some fireworks. Fun day! I hope all of you here in the States had a wonderful holiday as well.
This is one of the cards I made yesterday. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #42 and the colors are from Color Throwdown #199.
Stamps are from Sweet Nature (Flourishes), papers are called "Glory" (Authentique), I layered some ivory cotton lace over some turquoise satin ribbon, added a "Jovial" button, embossed the kraft panel with Swiss Dots, and popped the main image up on foam tape. The main image is stamped on classic ivory, cut out with a long deckled rectangle (Spellbinders), and colored with Copics (Flourishes Poppy Collection, Flourishes Leaf Green Collection, BG0000, and BG11). Stickles were also added to the rose.
Have a really great day!

Let's Play
I made this for this week's inspiration challenge over on the Paper Smooches Sparks Blog and Freshly Made Sketch #37.....
Here's the inspiration photo from the Sparks Blog...
I went with the turquoise color and circles from the picture for the theme of my card. Oh, and the photo also has that big piano in it.....the sentiment I used is "let's play".....get it?....you can PLAY a piano.......yeah, okay, it was a stretch....lol! Anyhooooo.....the stamp set is Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches, the circle DP is from my Echo Park Paradise Beach paper pad (I got mine at i{heart}papers), the sentiment is cut out with a flag die from Lil' Inker Designs, the large turquoise panel is tempting turquoise from SU, and I colored the dog with Copics (YG11, E41, E42, E43, 0, W1, W5, R20, R22, R24).
....and here's Freshly Made Sketch #37...
Have a great day. :)

Freshly Made Sketch 36
Hi all! I made this card for Freshly Made Sketch #36 using my brand new Summer Fresh papers by Simple Stories that I just bought from i {heart} papers. They arrived in the mail yesterday....and oh my word, love 'em!
The large zig-zag pattern is printed that way in the paper pad so all I did was cut it out (I didn't piece all those rectangles together). Six butterflies were die cut with Verve's Flutterby die and stacked in pairs with foam tape so there's lots of dimension. The "Hello" sentiment is from my MFT Essential Sentiments set. The flag die is from Lil' Inker Designs and twine is from The Twinery.
Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Freshy Made Sketch 35
I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge using PTI's Butterfly Dreams (stamp set and die).
Two butterflies were die cut and popped up on foam tape. Papers are Howdy Doody by My Mind's Eye.
That's it for me....short and sweet today. :)

Hope
So this card was made for someone going through a breast cancer scare. {shaking my head}....breast cancer touches TOO many people. I won't get on a soapbox with all my thoughts about that horrible disease, but I will say this....if you're due for your yearly mammogram, *please* go get it done. :) Early detection really is key. Okay....'nuff said about that....

The stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs. It's one of Anna Wight's cling sets called "Think Pink." Papers are "Howdy Doody" by My Mind's Eye, I sponged the paper doily with Ranger Vintage Photo ink, and I popped the main sentiment panel up on foam tape. I cut two butterflies out with Verve's Flutterby die and popped both of them up on foam tape as well. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch 22.
Hope you have a REALLY great Sunday! NASCAR is back so that's what will be on our TV today. :)

Happy Birthday, Kara!
Well, technically it's not her birthday YET, but tomorrow we're having her roller skating party with her friends and then we'll be having family over to the house afterward, and I wanted to show you the card I made for her.

The cat stamp (Tulip Jungle) and sentiment (Critter Party) are both from Penny Black. The image was stamped on Sparkle Blanc CS from Paper Temptress, colored with Copic markers, Stickles were added to the tulips, and then I cut out the whole image and popped it up on foam tape. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #19. I made sure to add seven rhinestones to the card since the birthday girl is turning a big SEVEN this coming week. Wow!...seven already....sigh....
Okay, so on that note....have yourself a great weekend! Whooo-hooooo....TGIF!
