July Craft Stamper and things Oriental

My copy of Craft Stamper arrived yesterday and I was pleased to finally see the project Michelle (Midnight Crafter) has with an Oriental theme (p 46 - 49).  Michelle has made ATC's and a matching wallet for them, it's a lovely project Michelle.

I've now put the products she has used plus some other Oriental products we have had in the shop for a long time on our website, we have an Oriental section HERE

At £5.85 per sheet (approx. A5 in size), they are great value!

There are plenty of Oriental coins and embellishments too...

I'm having a lazy day today, as well as an Oriental one.  After 7 years I've finally sat down long enough this afternoon to watch The Last Samarai film.  I enjoyed it although it was very gory!  I've got the The Last Emperor of China recorded to watch too, maybe I'll save that for tomorrow!

Oh, nearly forgot to mention, we are now selling The Craft Stamper magazine again, both in the shop and online HERE.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend too!

More Fairy cards from the show!

I'm not normally a fairy loving type of person, it just doesn't fit into my radar of stamping choices, but when Tracey first sent me her designs about 18 months or so ago, I have to confess I changed my mind about fairies, these were the best I'd ever seen. There wasn't just fairies, there was THAT fantasy frame!! A great setting to show them off perfectly...

This card is stunning in real life, it was made by either Karen or Rachel Jackson, Karen is the lovely mum of Rachel Jackson whose work is published in Craft Stamper magazine. Karen was demonstrating with Tracey's new stamps at the HSNW show at Port Sunlight last weekend (amongst other things she demonstrated on the day).

Last weekend seems such a LONG time ago!!!

Anyway, Karen and Rachel made a number of cards, their ideas were great!

The background is brayered onto glossy card, the frame and fairies have been stamped on top with black ink and sparkle has been added to the fairies. I like the way that part of the frame has been used in the corners!

I also loved this next card, it shows that the frame doesn't have to be used with the fairies, you can add anything! But, as shown here, a greeting is just perfect!! It really is a versatile image.

Here is another card with the frame used in the corners, a cluster of stars have been added too. The background is starburst stains and glitter added for extra sparkle. Lovely!

Thank you very much to Karen and Rachel for these cards, I'll show the others they made another time.

I've now set my sky box on 671 for 12pm (noon) for Wednesday, if you have freeview it'll be on freeview channel 36 or 22? (not totally sure which it is for Create & Craft since you had your re-scans!).

I hope you can join Kay and I for our next show. Having played with Kay's stamps again, I remember how lovely they are to work with!!

Craft Stamper Oct 09

A 3rd post today! Boy they are coming like buses!!

I wanted to mention that Kay has a project in the October issue with her stamps and it's featured on the front page!

Kay has used the Dainty Dragonfly unmounted stamp sheet with shrink plastic in a 4 page feature and gives step by step instructions using the intaglio technique. As Kay mentions in the article, it is a very addictive technique which involves stamping into the shrink plastic to create dimension. I LOVE doing this, it's very satisfying. You need to use proper red or grey rubber stamps, as the plastic needs to be VERY hot, so don't attempt it with your clear stamps or you could be using the stamp as an added embellishment!! Kay also uses Tombow brush marker pens that can be found here and other items we stock. We do have the background papers that Kay has used in stock too but they are not on the website, so you may need to phone about these.

Oh, I also wanted to mention that the dragonfly on this sheet co-ordinates with the free dragonfly stamp Kay designed for the August issue of Craft Stamper magazine and, if you'd like to see more ideas using the Dainty Dragonfly sheet, do visit our gallery. If you have time to look around the gallery you will find over 1,300 photos of card ideas using Aspects of Design unmounted stamps. There is an album for nearly all of our stamp sheets plus some other bits and pieces there.

Will be back later with a sneak peek for you of something new!

Kay Carley, Craft Stamper Mag, Free Stamp!!

Debbie has just emailed me this photo that she has mentioned this evening in her blog. She put a link from hers to ours. So, welcome if you have popped across from Debbie's blog and have been waiting to find out was it is she is talking about! Debbie's family have had to wait for their dinner while she organised the photo, sorry all!!

Debbie phoned me earlier to say I have to mention it tonight now, you are a star Debbie!! As you've probably gathered, Debbie gets quite excited about her Craft Stamper mag arriving!

As you can see in the photo, the cover stamp is from The Stamp Man, well in fact it is from Kay Carley! You may remember Kay mentioning this on her blog a while ago. As well as being a lovely stamp on it's own, it will also co-ordinate with Kay's Flitter Flutter stamp sheet, found here.

From what I can gather from an excited phone call from Debbie is that Kay and Katy (the Editor) have made cards with the stamp to give inspiration for the stamp design. I haven't got a copy yet and Kay probably doesn't even know it has been sent out to subscribers either! Kay will probably tell you more about it when she has received her copy.

So well done Kay and thank you for working on this, and also to katy for the opportunity, I cannot wait to get my copy!
