Q & L Challenge - Patience

Our two words this time on The Craft Barn's Quotes & Lyrics Challenge are Patience and/or Better.  I went for Patience for my altered beer mat, but it took a while to find one that I thought I would have an appropriate stamp for!  I got there in the end!  My chosen quote is by Leo Tolstoy.

Sparkles Christmas Challenge #16 - Christmas Tree

Goodness, 1st May!  Where is the year going!  Time for a new theme on Sparkles Christmas Challenge and this time it is Christmas Tree.  I am not in the mood for making cards, but I am dabbling in some art journalling so decided to make a little page for my DT work using Dylusions spray inks and some of my favourite stamps.

We are sponsored by Joanna Sheen with a lovely £10 voucher for the winner, and also Crafty Emma's Store, also with a lovely £10 voucher for another winner, so pop on over and take part!

Sparkles Christmas Challenge #1

Today is the launch of a brand new monthly Christmas challenge blog - Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenges.  Every month a new theme will be set and it is a great way to get started on those Christmas cards, although it is a multi craft challenge so anything goes!

The first challenge is CHRISTMAS TREE

There are 3 lovely prizes to be won:

First prize is a £10 voucher to spend at Joanna Sheen's online store

Second prize is 4 digi images of choice from Pink Gem Designs

Third prize is a set of embellishments

For my DT work, I made a Christmas card using HOTP paper and Technique Tuesday stamps.  The snowflakes are punched using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch (one of  my most used ones!) and small red gems are used to embellish.

O Christmas Tree

There is a lovely sketch to follow on this week's Winter Wonderland blog. I used my Technique Tuesday Christmas tree and text stamps for this, and BG and HOTP papers, plus Card Candy for embellishing. I am also entering this card for the weekly Christmas card challenge on Magical Crafts Forum, which this week is Christmas Trees.

Christmas Banner Part 2

The next challenge on Ready Steady Stamp for our banners, is to use our chosen colours, a Christmas tree, eyelets, Cut' n Dry stamping and Kraft paper. I didn't like doing the Cut 'n Dry stamping and don't think I would use it much again, I tried several objects to press my heated up piece of Cut 'n Dry into and eventually settled on a Christmas tree charm, but I am not keen! I used a Technique Tuesday tree stamp and stamp and embossed it onto some Kraft paper, adding embellishments including the eyelets, and edging everything with gold Krylon.
