We recently received TWO great postcards!
The first is from our pal Ajdin who was tagging along with the seKretary who was on a business trip in Columbus, Ohio. The second was from out pal Little Fox who got to take a trip to San Francisco and visit the Ghirandelli chocolate shop! Thanks guys!
We also wanted to give you a gnome update. As our regular readers know, we had a contest and vote to name our new neighbor, a little gnome who moved into our garden.
The selected the most was suggested by Little Fox: Giovani.
Well, tiny Giovani has been BEARY busy. He's been harvesting some purple flowers to sell at the gnome farmers' market.
And he obviously takes a coffee break from time to time. As you may have also noticed, Giovani has finished constructing a stone path to his front door. The path branches out and leads through the garden...
and arrives at his bee hive.
Jerry is very pleased that Giovani has decided to provide a nice house for BEESZ! Do you have any bees in your garden?

Independence Day!
Happy Independence Day, July 4!
We're having a mostly relaxing holiday at home today. We started our day off with some early morning gardening. Ben was busy at work weeding his herb garden.
Our tomato plant has grown BEARY tall!
Jerry says "Do yoU see the littul tomatows groweeng?"
Jerry spotted some bees busy in the flower garden, "BEEZZ" exclaimed Jerry!
Later in the morning, we had a couple of friends over for a later morning breakfast in the garden. Ben helped to make the table festive.
It's a beary good thing to relax in your garden and to put your feet up at the end of a great day. You can even do a few toe wiggles (coined by our Pal Bob T. Bear). Do you do any toe wiggles in your garden?

Mail and Garden Updates!
We're a little behind in our blog posts. Papa has been traveling for work. "Do yoU know how hard it iz to blog when your seKretary is traveling?" asks Ben with a little grumble.
Anyway, first our mail update. We received surprises from our pal Ajdin. We won his bee magnet arts and crafts giveaway back in May. "BEEEEZZZZ!!" says Jerry!
There was a great bee magnet and some delicious instant apple cider (already gone). The magnet looks so great on our fridge. We also got a great postcard from our friend Hammie who was again traveling in beautiful Brittany. Papa went to school for a little while in Brittany, "Yeah, bak in the Middul Ages" jokes Jerry.
We received another postcard from Ajdin, this time from Washington D.C.
Looks like he had a wonderful trip. Thank you Ajdin and Hammie!
"Next," says Ben "a gardun reeport from Jerry...take it away Jerry!"
"Thank yoU Ben." replies Jerry. "Owr garden iz lookeeng beary good. We've had a LOT of rain so the plants aR lookeeng happee. The zookeenknee haz LOTZ of blossoms."
"Kan yoU see me hideeng in the zookeeknee?" asks Jerry.
Jerry and Ben have also been helping in the flowers beds. Here are a few photos of some of the flowers that grow in our back yard. We hope that you enjoy them.
How is your garden doing? If you don't have a garden, are you growing a few plants or herbs in pots?

BEEEZZZZ!
Jerry and Ben were working in their garden this morning, and look what Jerry discovered...
"Beezz!" exclaims Jerry. Our regular blog readers probably know that Jerry just loves bees, both because they help to pollinate the many flowers and vegetables in the garden, but also because bees mean that there might be a hive of delicious honey nearby. "Um, Jerry, me think theez bees maybe ar not honee bees..." suggests Ben. But Jerry is only thinking about his find and happily responds "BEEZZ!" So Ben adds, "me think that honee beez don't hav yello furree backs..." But it's no use, Jerry just shouts "BEEEEZZZZZ!" Jerry is clearly just too happy seeing this bee and thinking about honey that he doesn't care if it's the right kind of bee or not, so Ben decides just to let him enjoy the bees. Do you have any bees in your garden?
