We just recently had a lot of ice and snow and an unusual April blizzard! But in the last few days, however, the temperatures have quickly risen and the snow is mostly gone. Today's temperature is 73F (or 22.7C for our European blog pals). To help give spring a beary nice welcome, we decided to have our breakfast outside today.
Ben is wearing his gardening hat because little bears need to shade their eyes from the bright sun. Jerry is wearing a new summer outfit that includes fun Hawaiian shorts and a t-shirt and a new orange cap, "Itz beary kool and I luv it" adds Jerry. Papa made some toast and there are bear-sized jams and honey from which to choose.
"Me like French stawBEARY jam" says Ben. Ben is learning some French and he tends to like things that are French. Ben wonders, however, why the jam is called Bonne Maman (Good Mom). "I think Bon Papa sounz like a bettur name" he thinks, then he giggles.
For his part, Jerry prefers honey (which is no surprise to our regular readers and blog pals). "Honee is so beary gud!" declares Jerry, although it is a little hard to understand Jerry when he's talking with a mouth full of honey and toast. What do you like to put on your toast?

Beary Icy!
Gosh, the wind sure is blowing outside, let's check to see what the weather looks like. Ben tells Jerry "You luk out window."
"Luckee, we hav nuff honee to last" adds Ben. "Did sumone say honee??" questions Jerry.
"Um, Ben, me think thar iz a problum" answered Jerry.
"What iz going on har?" asked Jerry and Ben.
The windows are all blurry.
That big storm we have is not a wind storm but an ICE storm! Everything is covered with ice, even the windows!
Oh gosh, every window in the house is coated with ice, and the nice weather guy says the storm is supposed to last a day or two more, oh dear! There is also thunder and lighting along with the ice, how strange!
