Parody of Honey West drawn by Angelo Torres. I don't think this is the same Bob Elliott from Bob & Ray.

For a while, the mascot wore a suit of armor because they didn't want their mascot to look too much like Alfred E. Neuman.

When they started, they advertised in various comics also edited by Joe Simon.

Concluded from Monday
For a while, Jack Davis was attempting to sell a newspaper strip about a soldier in the Civil War, and the unpublished strips were carried here and in HELP!. My guess is that syndicators wouldn't touch it because it was from a Southern point of view and many Northern papers wouldn't want to carry it, much like some movie theaters wouldn't show Buster Keaton's The General.

This magazine came out right at the end of when it was still okay to make fun of John Kennedy. Future printings of The MAD Frontier didn't use the original cover.

The Caracu cartoon went across two pages, but I put it on one so I wouldn't have to a double-page spread. I also figured out that in Photoshop if you a file is line art and you convert it to Grayscale on CMYK you can get rid of things like folds of the paper. Even though I've been using the program for at least 10 years, I'm just learning about things you can do with it.

SICK often reviewed current movies rather than parodying them in comic form.



Another SICK feature was parodying the stand-up styles of comedians or sometimes profiling them.
