The rest of Harvey Comics' fly-by-night attempt to cash in on the parody genre. Every publisher seemed to have one (this one came out in April 1954) and they all came around the same time and lasted two to five issues.
The first story by Howard Nostrand is influenced by V-Vampires in Mad #3. Nostrand had a knack for drawing in the style of other artists but did so without swiping anything directly from the stories.
This and the next story are by Bob Powell . Between him and Howard Nostrand, they did many of Harvey's titles entirely by themselves.

Flip #1, 1 of 2
This was Flip,Harvey Comics' entry into the parody genre. The first issue here was published in April 1954. I previously posted the second issue, the only other one, a few years ago.
The cover and first story are drawn by Howard Nostrand. Not sure who drew this, though. This art is by Bob Powell

Flip #2, 2 of 2
The rest of the June, 1954 issue of Flip
Parody of not just the Sheik of Araby story but silent movies in general, most likely The Shiek, even though this in color for some reason.

These one-pagers weren't similar to features from Mad, I think they were filler meant for any humor comic they were to publish.

Flip #2, 1 of 2
This was Harvey's foray into the humor comic boom of the 50s before they cornered the kiddie market. I'm not sure how much of it if any will appear in Fantagraphics' upcoming The Sincerest Form of Parody, but here it is in its entirety minus the ads.
The contents page of most Harvey Comics of the time usually had the showcased features and some kind of editorial.

The rest to appear on Thursday.
