NOTD: Orly Cosmic FX - Space Cadet

This is from last Tuesday. While I thought when I first got the Cosmic FX collection that the darker ones would be my fav, I think this one might be! It sometimes looks green, copper, pink or purple! This would be an amazing eyeshadow...if only.

I've heard of people having issues with this brand. I haven't had any yet as I've found that even with the crappiest polishes, if I apply them in thin coats letting each coat fully dry before I apply the next, I never have a problem. My process is, while I watch a movie or marathon of shows, I'll do my nails. I have a small fan on high aimed upward to disperse polish fumes in the air while applying, then I aim it downward directly at my nails for 10-15 minutes in between each coat. I am very patient with the process and I slowly and carefully apply the polish to avoid making mistakes. I'd rather avoid than need to do major cleanup afterward. This works wonders for me and has helped me regain my love of polish. Before I started wearing polish again, I had not worn it or even owned any in YEARS. Around 8 years.  I know, I'm going to makeup hell, right? :-P

NOTD: Steampunk Nails w/ Orly Cosmic FX Galaxy Girl + Gears, Cogs Nail Art

Tried something different with my nails. I have hundreds of tiny vintage watch parts that I use to make jewelry. I thought it would be cool to use some as nail decals. It looks so cool!

My husband asked me, "How are you going to pick your nose with those things on your nails?!".  Carefully...very carefully. :-)

I achieved this look with:
1 coat of Avon's NAIL EXPERTS Smooth Beginnings Base Coat
3 coats of  Orly Cosmic FX - Galaxy Girl
dabbed clear polish where I wanted the gears, pressed the gears on. Let it dry then applied 2 thick top coats of Avon's NAIL EXPERTS UV Gloss Guard Top Coat
I will definitely use gears again!

NOTD: Orly Cosmic FX - It's Not Rocket Science

Ulta had a decent sale recently so I took advantage of it and picked up some polishes I've been eyeing for a very long time. I snagged all of Orly's Cosmic FX polishes and I'm really glad I did. They are so gorgeous!
I'm still not a huge polish gal. Makeup is my first love. But I will buy polish that is really cool and not the typical polish you see everyone wearing (by that I mean "normal" girls, not polish addicts that have the most awesome polish collections!).

I went grocery shopping after I did my nails and the girl bagging our groceries grabbed my hands saying, "Oh! Lemme lookit those nails! I thought they were just green but there's more to it."  I was also complimented by a guy bagging our groceries with my last nail post. :-)

Onto the pictures!

Do you own any of the Cosmic FX polishes? Which are your favs? I think Galaxy Girl is my top fav, but we'll see once I actually get to trying them all out.
