Oh Holy Night - Nativity

Hello Stitchers! Today I’m releasing a pattern that some of you asked me to draw over the years. You were right, I’d never drawn a Nativity scene before, and I’m sorry I have not done it sooner. Anyway, the time is now, and here is my version. Recalling the Christmas carol “Oh Holy Night” I wanted to depict the Madonna, Saint Joseph, and Baby Jesus in my Christmas style, bringing them from a typical Eastern setting to one closer to home. Therefore, there are snowflakes, little stars, and red cardinals, announcing the birth of Jesus. A version that may be unusual, but is nonetheless sweet, and I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Buongiorno Ricamine! Oggi vi presento uno schema che in questi anni alcune di voi mi hanno chiesto di disegnare. In effetti avevate ragione, non avevo mai disegnato la Natività e mi dispiace di non averlo fatto prima, in ogni caso, finalmente ecco la mia versione. Richiamando il canto di Natale “Oh Holy Night”, ho voluto rappresentare la Madonna, San Giuseppe e Gesù Bambino secondo il mio stile natalizio, portandoli dall’ambientazione tipica orientale a quella più vicina a noi. Pertanto ci sono i fiocchi di neve, le stelline e i cardinali rossi, che annunciano la nascita di Gesù Bambino. Una versione magari inconsueta ma comunque dolce, che spero vi piacerà.

Christmas Snow Balls III

Dear Stitchers, tonight, as the first candles are lit, I present to you another of this Christmas’ surprises, the third set of my Christmas Snow Balls series. This year, the magical snow globes contain two of the most beloved Christmas figures, Santa Claus and my beloved Saint Lucy. Santa Claus brings his magic bell, with which he announces his arrival and distributes gifts. His ruddy, joyful face reflects the joy of Christmas.

Care Ricamine, stasera, mentre le prime candele sono accese, vi presento un’altra delle sorprese di questo Natale, il terzo set della mia serie Christmas Snow Balls. Quest’anno le magiche sfere di neve contengono due figure fra le più amate del Natale, Babbo Natale e la mia amatissima Santa Lucia. Babbo Natale porta con sé la sua campanella magica, con la quale annuncia il suo arrivo e distribuisce i regali. Il suo volto rubicondo e gioioso riflette la gioia del Natale.

Saint Lucy carries one of her sacred candles, a symbol of the sunlight that rises on the Winter Solstice, and in her other hand, a typical Swedish sweet called Lussekatter – Saint Lucy’s Cats – a bright yellow saffron-flavored sweet bun, shaped like an 8 figure with two raisins in the center of each circle. It’s the traditional sweet of her feast day, and in Sweden, on the morning of Saint Lucia’s day, the little girls who represent her, dressed in red and white, distribute these delicious buns to the whole family.
The third snow globe contains another Christmas symbol, the Advent Star, to which I’ve already dedicated a few patterns. It’s a bright star hanged on the window that recalls the magic of Advent and the comet that shows the way.

Santa Lucia invece porta una delle sue sacra candele, simbolo della luce solare che risorge nel Solstizio d’Inverno, e nell’altra mano un dolce tipico svedese che si chiama Lussekatter – i Gatti di Santa Lucia – un panino dolce allo zafferano, di colore giallo acceso, a forma di 8 con due uvette nel centro di ogni cerchio. È il dolce tipico della sua festa e in Svezia, la mattina di Santa Lucia, le bambine che vestite di bianco e rosso la rappresentano, distribuiscono queste deliziose brioche a tutta la famiglia.
La terza sfera di neve contiene un altro simbolo natalizio, la Stella dell’Avvento, alla quale ho dedicato già alcuni schemi. È una stella luminosa che viene appesa alla finestra e ricorda la magia dell’avvento e la stella cometa che indica la via.

Magic Advent Calendar

Good morning, dear Stitchers! After a whole year in which, month after month, we uncovered the little squares of our Magic Advent Calendar, the year is finally coming to an end and the calendar is complete. This is the complete pattern, and it’s available for purchase starting today!
Please note that the calendar you see in the photo is the version entirely stitched on a single piece of fabric and framed, but you’ll also find a second version within the pattern. Here’s the full description of the Magic Advent Calendar versions.

Buongiorno care Ricamine! Dopo un intero anno in cui, mese dopo mese, abbiamo scoperto le caselline del nostro Magic Advent Calendar, ecco che finalmente l’anno volge al termine e il calendario è complete. Questo è lo schema completo e da oggi è disponibile per il normale acquisto!
Vi ricordo che il calendario che vedete nella fotografia è la versione ricamata tutta su un unico pezzo di stoffa e incorniciata, ma all’interno dello schema troverete anche una seconda versione. Ecco la descrizione completa delle versioni del Magic Advent Calendar.

You can realize the Magic Advent Calendar in three different versions of your choice.
The first version is the composition, with the 25 patterns all together, arranged on five rows of five designs each, with the tiny numbers of the days included under each design. This version can be framed, or finished as you prefer, as a single big piece.
The second version is composed of 25 single ornaments and 25 single numbers, one for each Advent day. The numbers can be stitched separately and sewn on the back of each ornament. With this version you can create a beautiful Advent Calendar composed of 25 square-ornaments, with the design on the front and the number on the back, which you can hang on a wooden panel. At the beginning of December, you can hang the ornaments on the number side – with the design hidden – and turn each ornament during the related day of December.
A third version can also be realized, simply stitching the 25 patterns, without the numbers, to create 25 cute ornaments to hang on to the Christmas Tree or to finish as you prefer.

Potrete realizzare il Magic Advent Calendar in tre versioni differenti, a vostra scelta.
La prima versione è la composizione, con i 25 schemi tutti insieme, disposti su cinque righe da cinque caselle ciascuna, con i piccoli numeri dei giorni inclusi sotto ogni disegno. Questa versione può essere incorniciata, o rifinita come preferite, come pezzo unico.
La seconda versione è composta da 25 ornament singoli e da 25 singoli numeri, uno per ogni giorno di avvento. I numeri potranno essere ricamati a parte e cuciti sul retro di ogni ornament. Con questa versione potete creare un bellissimo Calendario dell’Avvento composto da 25 caselle-ornament, con il disegno sul davanti e il numero sul retro, che potrete appendere su un pannello di legno. All’inizio di Dicembre, potete appendere gli ornament dalla parte del numero – con il disegno nascosto – e girare ogni ornament durante il relativo giorno di Dicembre.
Una terza versione può essere inoltre realizzata, ricamando semplicemente i 25 schemi, senza i numeri, per creare 25 ornament carini da appendere sull’Albero di Natale o da rifinire come preferite.

Advent Magic Lanterns

Dear Stitchers, I’m pleased to present the new pattern for ours Advent Candles, this year dedicated specifically on Christmas lanterns. I absolutely love lanterns, and I wanted to choose the most beautiful shapes and decorations to create these four, each containing an Advent candle. I also accompanied them with four little animals because I was missing them after last year. You’ll find the first lantern, dedicated to Hope, with robins; the second lantern, dedicated to Peace, is watched over by a small deer; the third lantern, dedicated to Joy, is accompanied by sweet red cardinals; and the fourth and final candle, dedicated to Love, is protected by a little squirrel.
Below you can find all the information you need to participate in the SAL candle lighting, stitching each candle flame on the corresponding Sunday of Advent.

Carissime Ricamine, sono lieta di presentarvi il nuovo schema dedicato alle candele dell’avvento, quest’anno dedicato in particolare alle lanterne natalizie. Amo moltissimo le lanterne e ho voluto scegliere le forme e le decorazioni più belle per creare queste quattro al cui interno brillano le quattro Candele dell’Avvento. Le ho accompagnate anche a quattro piccoli animaletti perché dopo l’anno passato mi mancavano. Troverete la prima lanterna, dedicata alla Speranza, con i pettirossi, la seconda lanterna, dedicata alla Pace, è vegliata da un piccolo cervo, la terza lanterna, dedicata alla Gioia, è accompagnata dai dolcissimi cardinali rossi, e la quarta e ultima candela, dedicata all’Amore, è protetta da uno scoiattolino.
Qui sotto potete trovare tutte le info per partecipare al SAL sull’accensione delle candele, ricamando la fiammella ognuna nella relativa domenica dell’avvento.

If you want to participate the Advent Candles SAL, stitching the flames of the candles together, each on its own Sunday of Advent, you can buy one of my patterns dedicated to the Advent Candles, this new Advent Magic Lanterns, or, if you prefer, one of the past years – the Woodland Advent Candles released last year, the Advent Magic Candles released in 2022 or the Advent Starry Candles released in 2023 – and stitch it to have the candles, or just the base, ready for the first Sunday of Advent, in which we will stitch the flame together, symbolically lighting the candle. Those who prefer, can stitch the entire candle on its own day, and “light it”.

Below you will find all the information to participate in the SAL, and the dates for the lighting of the candles in 2025:

ADVENT CANDLES SAL 2025
Let’s light together the Advent Candles

Starting from the first Advent Sunday, until the last one, the one before Christmas Eve, we will light together the four Advent Candles, stitching their flame in a magical and symbolic way.

* The first flame will be lit on Sunday November 30th 2025.
* The second flame will be lit on Sunday December 7th.
* The third flame on Sunday December 14th.
* The fourth and final one will be lit on Sunday December 21st.

To participate, all you have to do is stitch one of my Advent Candles pattern in order to have the candles ready to be “lit” during the Advent Time. You can also stitch the entire candle on its own Sunday.
If you can’t do it in time, you can easily stitch according to your time and still participate, with the heart, in the lighting of the Advent Candles.
However, the SAL will be repeated in the coming years, so that all those who want to participate can do so at the right time.

You can also accompany the stitching, or the lighting of the stitched flames, with the lighting of real wax candles, by getting yourself a beautiful Advent Wreath, or a simple tray in which to place four small candles, decorated with a few sprigs of evergreen and some berries – real or fake, as you prefer – according to the splendid ancient custom of Advent Candles.

If you want, you can share your progress and above all, spread the light of Advent by photographing your flame and posting it on your Instagram or Facebook page and, if you want, on The Little Stitchers’ Club Facebook page, using the hashtag #adventcandlessal.

Accendiamo insieme le Candele dell’Avvento

A partire dalla prima domenica di Avvento, fino all’ultima, quella che cade prima della vigilia di Natale, accenderemo insieme le quattro Candele dell’Avvento, ricamando, in un gesto magico e simbolico, la loro fiamma.

* La prima fiamma verrà accesa domenica 30 novembre 2025.
* La seconda fiamma sarà accesa domenica 7 dicembre.
* La terza fiamma domenica 14 dicembre.
* La quarta e ultima verrà accesa domenica 21 dicembre.

Per partecipare non dovete fare altro che ricamare uno dei miei schemi dedicati alle Candele dell’Avvento in modo da avere le candele pronte per essere “accese” durante il periodo dell’Avvento. Potete anche ricamare l’intera candela durante la sua propria domenica.
Se non riuscite a farlo in tempo, potete tranquillamente ricamare secondo il vostro tempo e partecipare comunque, col cuore, all’accensione delle Candele dell’Avvento.
Il SAL sarà comunque ripetuto i prossimi anni, così che tutte e tutti coloro che vogliono partecipare possano farlo nei giusti tempi.

Potete accompagnare il ricamo, ovvero l’accensione delle fiamme, all’accensione di vere candele di cera, procurandovi una bella Corona dell’Avvento, o un semplice vassoietto nel quale riporre quattro piccoli ceri, decorati con qualche rametto di sempreverde e qualche bacca – veri o finti, come preferite – secondo la splendida usanza di origine antica delle Candele dell’Avvento.

A Quiet Winter Day - From Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2024 Issue

Hello dear Stitchers! A year ago, I showed you this sweet ornament, which would soon be published in Just Cross Stitch Christmas 2024 issue, and many of you loved it. Today, it’s finally available in my shop, and if you’d like, you can order it and stitch it in the blink of an eye. It’s part of my series dedicated to robins, winter, snow, and stars, and in this design, I wanted to immortalize with needle and thread one of my favorite moments: when the birds, on cold, snowy winter mornings, arrive with their fluttering wings to eat the seeds, biscuits, and pellets of fat placed especially for them, to keep warm and protect themselves from the cold.

Magic Advent Calendar Mystery SAL

Dear Stitchers, I am happy to present you my new Mystery SAL dedicated entirely to Christmas. Many of you know my first Advent Calendar, in primitive style. It is a style that I loved very much, but over the years I have gotten closer to what real belongs to me, and for a few years now I have wanted to create a new, sweet and warm, Advent Calendar. This is how my Magic Advent Calendar was born, in my typical Christmas style, and also this cute Mystery SAL was born, which will keep us company until December 2025, when the last step will be revealed and our Calendar will be complete.
A little news: the Magic Advent Calendar does not have 24 designs, but 25! Two patterns at a time will be released the first day of each month, and the last step of December will contain three patterns!
I am sure that you will like them, and the final effect will be a great surprise!
Below you will find all the information about the Magic Advent Calendar Mystery SAL. All the info are included – together with the various steps of the SAL – in the first link you will receive at the time of purchase.
As you will see, the Magic Advent Calendar can be realized in two different versions! At the moment, in the photos of the model, you can see only the first steps of the first version: during the next months I will show you also a sample of the second version. You can choose the version you love the most, both of them are included in our SAL at the same price.
I hope there will be many of us and that for each of you it will be a warm joy to share this adventure together!

Care Ricamatrici, sono felice di presentarvi il mio nuovo Mystery SAL dedicato interamente al Natale. Molte di voi conoscono il mio primo Calendario dell’Avvento, in stile primitive. È uno stile che ho amato molto, ma nel corso degli anni mi sono avvicinata a ciò che mi appartiene di più, e da ormai alcuni anni ci tenevo a realizzare un nuovo, dolce e caloroso, Calendario dell’Avvento. Così nasce il mio Magic Advent Calendar, nel mio tipico stile natalizio, e così nasce questo divertente Mystery SAL, che ci terrà compagnia fino a Dicembre 2025, quando l’ultima tappa sarà rivelata e il nostro Calendario sarà completo.
Una piccola novità: il Magic Advent Calendar non ha 24 caselle, bensì 25! Verrà rilasciato lo schema di due caselle per volta per ogni mese, mentre l’ultima tappa di dicembre ne conterrà tre!
Sono sicura che vi piaceranno, e l’effetto finale sarà una sorpresa!

The Magic Advent Calendar begins in January 2025 and will end in December 2025, when the pattern will be complete.

Una volta ricevuta la prima tappa, dovrete scaricare autonomamente le successive, cliccando sui link che troverete all’interno del PDF. Le varie tappe saranno disponibili alla data indicata per ogni link, il primo giorno di ogni mese.
I link saranno attivi solo a partire dalla data indicata.

LE VERSIONI DEL MAGIC ADVENT CALENDAR

La prima versione è la composizione, con i 25 schemi tutti insieme, disposti su cinque righe da cinque caselle ciascuna, con i piccoli numeri dei giorni inclusi sotto ogni disegno. Questa versione può essere incorniciata, o rifinita come preferite, come pezzo unico.
La seconda versione è composta da 25 ornament singoli, quadrati, e da 25 singoli numeri, uno per ogni giorno di avvento. I numeri potranno essere ricamati a parte e cuciti sul retro di ogni ornament. Con questa versione potete creare un bellissimo Calendario dell’Avvento composto da 25 caselle-ornament, con il disegno sul davanti e il numero sul retro, che potrete appendere su un pannello di legno. All’inizio di Dicembre, potete appendere gli ornament dalla parte del numero – con il disegno nascosto – e girare ogni ornament durante il relativo giorno di Dicembre.
Una terza versione può essere inoltre realizzata, ricamando semplicemente i 25 schemi, senza i numeri, per creare 25 ornament carini da appendere sull’Albero di Natale o da rifinire come preferite.

Dear Stitchers,
This is a special design for me that I wanted to create for a few years, because it contains what for me and many of you represents one of the greatest magics of the solstitial and Christmas time: the Saint Lucy’s Feast. I have drawn many patterns dedicated to her, as well as to Nordic Christmas, but this is one of those I love most – together with the little ornament Saint Lucy’s Light.
Her feast comes before the others, and now she is arriving, day after day, bringing her light that shines brightly in the darkness and instils hope, joy and peace.

Questo per me è un disegno speciale che erano alcuni anni che volevo creare, perché racchiude quella che per me e tante di voi racchiude una delle più grandi magie del periodo solstiziale e natalizio: la festa di Santa Lucia. Ho disegnato molti schemi dedicati a lei, nonché al Natale nordico, ma questo è uno di quelli a cui tengo di più – insieme al piccolo ornament Saint Lucy’s Light.
La sua festa arriva prima delle altre, e lei sta arrivando, giorno dopo giorno, portando la sua luce che brilla forte nel buio e infonde speranza, gioia e pace.

This sweet Sankta Lucia – as she is called in Sweden – comes from the snowy woods, walking slowly and silently, without leaving footprints in the snow. She holds a candle and is crowned with candles, which however are not candles with normal flames – like those that shine at the window of the cottage. They are solar flames, divine flames, shining with gold and surrounded by golden rays. Lucia’s light, in fact, does not come from the common world, but from the divine one. Cultivating her golden flame in the heart brings great joy and blessing.

Questa dolce Sankta Lucia – come viene chiamata in Svezia – giunge dai boschi innevati, camminando lenta e silenziosa, senza lasciare impronte nella neve. Regge una candela ed è coronata di candele, che tuttavia non sono candele dalle fiamme normali – come quelle che brillano alla finestra della casetta. Sono fiamme solari, fiamme divine, lucenti d’oro e circondate da raggi dorati. La luce di Lucia, infatti, non proviene dal mondo comune, ma da quello divino. Coltivare la sua fiamma oro nel cuore porta una grande gioia e benedizione.

The phrase I wanted to draw in the pattern is part of an English translation, written by the author Florence Ekstrand, of the traditional Swedish song Sankta Lucia, which many of us know and love.

Christmas Snow Balls II

Good morning dear Stitchers!
Last year I created the first set of Christmas Snow Balls, with snowmen, a cute Christmas house and the little Advent candles ornament. Well, this year I present you the second set and I hope you will love it as much as you loved the first one!

Buongiorno care Ricamatrici!
Un anno fa ho creato il primo set di Christmas Snow Balls, con i pupazzi di neve, la casa natalizia e l’ornament delle piccole candele dell’Avvento. Ebbene, quest’anno vi presento il secondo set e spero che vi piacerà quanto vi è piaciuto il primo!

This time I wanted to design a smaller and more detailed version of my Christmas Carousel, released in 2021, and I must say I love it! I enclosed it in its snowball and I imagine how beautiful it would be to see it turning and singing with a carillon with Christmas music. The second snow ball is dedicated to another theme that I love, the little carolers girls. The street lamp that recalls the London ones of the 1800s is classic and essential. The third snow ball, the smallest, contains a magical lantern, with sprigs of red berries. I love this little ornament.

Questa volta ho voluto disegnare una versione più piccola e dettagliata del mio Christmas Carousel, uscito nel 2021, e devo dire che la adoro! L’ho racchiuso nella sua palla di neve e immagino quanto sarebbe bello vederlo girare e suonare con un carillon dalla musica natalizia. La seconda palla di neve è dedicata a un altro tema che amo, le bambine che cantano le carole di Natale. Classico e irrinunciabile il lampione che ricorda quelli londinesi del 1800. La terza palla di neve, la più piccola, contiene una magica lanterna, con rametti dalle bacche rosse. Amo questo piccolo ornament.

With these three patterns you can create flat or cushions ornaments, or, given the not very small size, you can also frame them with a white or red frame, they would be really cute.
I hope you like the new set and I hope also that it gives you the magic with which I tried to create it.

Con questi tre schemi potete creare ornament piatti o cuscinetti, oppure, data la dimensione non piccolissima, potete anche fare dei quadretti con una cornice bianca o rossa, sarebbero davvero carini.

Woodland Advent Candles

Dear Stitchers, I am really happy to show you this new set dedicated to this year’s Advent Candles. It is called Woodland Advent Candles, and its very white candles will shine in the snow, making it sparkle, in the middle of a coniferous forest. Watching over the Advent flames, there are four wild animals, the guardians of the woods. To accompany the larger pattern with the animals, there are four tiny and very simple ornaments. Each of them has a smaller version of the Advent candle in the center.
The first candle, dedicated to Hope, is watched over by the Deer; the second candle, dedicated to Peace, is watched over by the Hare; the third candle, dedicated to Joy, is watched over by the Bird; the fourth and last candle, dedicated to Love, is watched over by the Bear.

Care Ricamatrici, sono davvero felice di mostrarvi questo nuovo set dedicato alle Candele dell’Avvento di quest’anno. Si chiama Woodland Advent Candles, e le sue candele bianchissime brilleranno nella neve, facendola luccicare, nel mezzo di un bosco di conifere. A vegliare sulle fiamme dell’avvento, ci sono quattro animali selvatici, i guardiani del bosco. Ad accompagnare lo schema più grande con gli animaletti, ci sono quattro ornament piccini e molto semplici. Ognuno di essi porta al centro una versione più piccola della candela dell’Avvento.
La prima candela, dedicata alla Speranza, è vegliata dal Cervo; la seconda candela, dedicata alla Pace, è vegliata dal Leprotto; la terza candela, dedicata alla Gioia, è vegliata dall’Uccellino; la quarta e ultima candela, dedicata all’Amore, è vegliata dall’Orso.

This year too, my Advent Candles SAL will start from now, for the third consecutive year. If you want to participate, stitching the flames of the candles together, each on its own Sunday of Advent, you can buy one of my patterns dedicated to the Advent Candles, the Woodland Advent Candles, or, if you prefer, one of the past years – Advent Magic Candles released in 2022 or Advent Starry Candles released in 2023 – and stitch it so as to have the candles, or just the base, ready for the first Sunday of Advent, in which we will stitch the flame together, symbolically lighting the candle. Those who prefer, can stitch the entire candle on its own day, and “light it”.

Below you will find all the information to participate in the SAL, and the dates for the lighting of the candles in 2024:

ADVENT CANDLES SAL 2024
Let’s light together the Advent Candles

Starting from the first Advent Sunday, until the last one, the one before Christmas Eve, we will light together the four Advent Candles, stitching their flame in a magical and symbolic way.

* The first flame will be lit on Sunday December 1st 2024.
* The second flame will be lit on Sunday December 8th.
* The third flame on Sunday December 15th.
* The fourth and final one will be lit on Sunday December 22nd.

To participate, all you have to do is stitch one of my Advent Candles pattern – the new Woodland Advent Candles pattern, or the Advent Starry Candles released in 2023, or the Advent Magic Candles released in 2021 if you prefer – in order to have the candles ready to be “lit” during the Advent Time. You can also stitch the entire candle on its own Sunday.
If you can’t do it in time, you can easily stitch according to your time and still participate, with the heart, in the lighting of the Advent Candles.
However, the SAL will be repeated in the coming years, so that all those who want to participate can do so at the right time.

You can also accompany the stitching, or the lighting of the stitched flames, with the lighting of real wax candles, by getting yourself a beautiful Advent Wreath, or a simple tray in which to place four small candles, decorated with a few sprigs of evergreen and some berries – real or fake, as you prefer – according to the splendid ancient custom of Advent Candles.

If you want, you can share your progress and above all, spread the light of Advent by photographing your flame and posting it on your Instagram or Facebook page and, if you want, on The Little Stitchers’ Club Facebook page, using the hashtag #adventcandlessal.

Accendiamo insieme le Candele dell’Avvento

A partire dalla prima domenica di Avvento, fino all’ultima, quella che cade prima della vigilia di Natale, accenderemo insieme le quattro Candele dell’Avvento, ricamando, in un gesto magico e simbolico, la loro fiamma.

* La prima fiamma verrà accesa domenica 1 dicembre 2024.
* La seconda fiamma sarà accesa domenica 8 dicembre.
* La terza fiamma domenica 15 dicembre.
* La quarta e ultima verrà accesa domenica 22 dicembre.

Per partecipare non dovete fare altro che ricamare uno dei miei schemi dedicati alle ACandele dell’Avvento – il nuovo Woodland Advent Candles, oppure l’Advent Starry Candles pubblicato nel 2023, oppure ancora il Magic Advent Candles pubblicato nel 2022, se preferite – in modo da avere le candele pronte per essere “accese” durante il periodo dell’Avvento. Potete anche ricamare l’intera candela durante la sua propria domenica.
Se non riuscite a farlo in tempo, potete tranquillamente ricamare secondo il vostro tempo e partecipare comunque, col cuore, all’accensione delle Candele dell’Avvento.
Il SAL sarà comunque ripetuto i prossimi anni, così che tutte e tutti coloro che vogliono partecipare possano farlo nei giusti tempi.

Potete accompagnare il ricamo, ovvero l’accensione delle fiamme, all’accensione di vere candele di cera, procurandovi una bella Corona dell’Avvento, o un semplice vassoietto nel quale riporre quattro piccoli ceri, decorati con qualche rametto di sempreverde e qualche bacca – veri o finti, come preferite – secondo la splendida usanza di origine antica delle Candele dell’Avvento.

Tiny Christmas Ornaments

Dear Stitchers, just like a few days ago, when I introduced you to the renewed version of my ornament published on Just Cross Stitch Special Christmas Issue last year, this is the time to introduce you to one of my favorite ornaments, published on the older Just Cross Stitch Special Christmas Issue 2021. It is my robin standing on the top of two cute gifts, renewed for the occasion with my favorite fabric in warm red color with stars, and accompanied by two other brand new ornaments that complete the set. A glass ball, with two tiny robins inside who are preparing the presents to be delivered at Christmas, and many tiny robins on many tiny presents, wishing you Merry Christmas!

Carissime Ricamine, come pochi giorni fa, in cui vi ho presentato la versione rinnovata del mio ornament pubblicato su Just Cross Stitch l’anno scorso, questo è il momento di presentarvi uno dei miei ornament preferiti, pubblicato su Just Cross Stitch nel Natale del 2021. È il mio pettirosso impettito in cima a due regali, rinnovato per l’occasione con la mia stoffa preferita con le stelline, color rosso caldo, e accompagnato da altri due nuovissimi ornament che completano il set. Una pallina di vetro, con all’interno due pettirossi che stanno preparando i regali da consegnare a Natale, e tanti piccoli pettirossi su tanti piccoli regali, che augurano Merry Christmas!

The set is obviously called Tiny Christmas Ornaments, because they are very little patterns, quick to stitch, but no less sweet than other larger and more elaborate ones. They are suitable for small presents, you can finish them as flat ornaments, or as cushions to hang on the Christmas tree, or as Christmas tags to hang on presents. I finished them in three different ways: the cushion, which you already know, a flat ornament and a cute envelope for Christmas cards, with the stitched pocket.
I hope you like them!

Il set si chiama Tiny Christmas Ornaments, perché sono schemi piccolini, velocissimi da ricamare, ma non meno dolci di altri più grandi ed elaborati. Sono adatti a piccoli regali, potete confezionarli come ornament rigidi, oppure come cuscinetti da appendere all’albero di natale, oppure come tag natalizi da appendere ai regali. Io li ho confezionati in tre modi diversi: il cuscinetto, che già conoscete, un ornament rigido e una carina bustina porta biglietto natalizio, con la taschina ricamata.

Woodland Wishes - From JCS Christmas Ornaments 2023

Hello Stitchers!
As promised – with a little delay – here is the new little set of two Christmas ornaments, the first of which, as many of you surely know, was published in Just Cross Stitch Special Christmas Ornaments Issue 2023. It is the robin ornament, and I wanted to add another similar pattern with our beloved red cardinal.
The patterns are very similar, so you can change the greetings as you like, stitching the red cardinal to wish “Merry Christmas”, or the robin with “Happy New Year” – starting from the bird’s feet, placed in the same position, you can replace one with the other as you prefer.

Buogniorno Ricamatrici!
Come promesso – con un piccolo ritardo – ecco il nuovo set di due ornament natalizi, il primo dei quali, come molte di voi sicuramente sanno, era stato pubblicato su Just Cross Stitch Special Christmas Ornaments Issue 2023. Si tratta dell’ornament con il pettirosso, e ho voluto aggiungerne un altro con il nostro amato cardinale rosso.
Gli schemi sono molto simili, pertanto potete cambiare gli auguri a vostro piacimento, ricamando il cardinal rosso per augurare Merry Christmas, oppure il pettirosso per ricamare Happy New Year – partendo dai piedini dell’uccellino, posti nella stessa posizione, potete sostituire l’uno all’altro come preferite.

Winter Home - Robin

Dear Stitchers,
I am finally ready to present to you this pattern, born a year ago. I hadn’t finished it and I wanted to work on it and publish it this year. Maybe I got too carried away with a thousand little birds? I’m afraid so, but I wanted to follow my creative impulses, giving shape to everything they suggested.
With this pattern I wanted to combine cute homes with my dear little animals, creating small simple compositions that you can stitch either as a complete pattern or as individual ornaments, choosing your favorite version or stitching them both. Here I combined the beloved robin with a little house that could recall its colors and warmth, together with the spirit of the Christmas holidays.

Care Ricamine,
sono finalmente pronta a presentarvi questo schema, nato un anno fa. Non lo avevo terminato e ho voluto lavorarci e pubblicarlo quest’anno Forse mi sono lasciata prendere troppo la mano da mille uccellini? Temo di sì, ma ho voluto seguire i miei moti creativi dando forma a tutto ciò che suggerivano.
Con questo schema ho voluto abbinare le casette ai miei cari animaletti, creando piccole composizioni semplici che potrete ricamare sia come un quadretto completo, sia come ornaments singoli, scegliendo la vostra versione preferita oppure ricamandole entrambe. Qui ho abbinato l’amato pettirosso a una casetta che potesse richiamarne i colori e il calore, insieme allo spirito delle feste natalizie.

I’m thinking to propose other patterns similar to this one, perhaps opening a small series of homes combined with little animals, but you will be the one to suggest to me whether it will be a good idea or not, whether you will like them or whether you prefer something different. We will understand it together, day by day.

Christmas Snow Balls and Robins and Stars

Dear Stitchers,
I’m very happy to present to you these two sets of patterns dedicated to this Christmas! I tried to make them as sweet and beautiful as possible and I really hope you will like them.
The first one is my version of the classical Christmas Snow Balls, and is made up of three typical snow globes, the first one with snowmen celebrating together with many tiny red cardinals, the second one with a little red house – as you will have seen from many of my patterns, I love drawing them – and the third one is a little and very quick to stitch version of the Advent Candles.

Carissime Ricamine,
sono felice di presentarvi questi due set di schemi dedicati a questo Natale! Ho cercato di renderli più dolci e belli possibile e spero davvero che vi piaceranno.
Il primo è Christmas Snow Balls, ed è formato da tre tipiche sfere natalizie con la neve, la prima con i pupazzi di neve che fanno festa insieme a tanti piccoli cardinali rossi, la seconda con una casetta rossa – che come avrete visto da molti miei schemi, adoro disegnare – e la terza è una versione piccina e velocissima da ricamare delle Candele dell’Avvento.

If you don’t have time to stitch the larger Advent Candles, you can also choose to stitch these, one for each Sunday of Advent, “lighting” with the stitches its flame, each one at its right time.
The set opens a series of other Christmas snow balls that will be released in the coming years, and that I can’t wait to realize (a few are already designed for next year!).

Se non doveste avere tempo di ricamare le Candele dell’Avvento più grandi potrete anche scegliere di ricamare queste, una per ogni domenica dell’Avvento, “accendendo” la sua fiammella, ovvero ricamandola, ognuna nel momento giusto.
Il set apre una piccola serie di altre sfere di neve natalizie che usciranno nei prossimi anni, e che non vedo l’ora di realizzare (alcune sono già disegnate per l’anno prossimo).

The second set of patterns is my favorite! The series of patterns similar to Robins and Snow dedicated to robins and released a few years ago continues, but this year the central theme together with robins are the stars! Red stars for Christmas, Advent or simply winter season, the same color as scarlet berries in winter.

Il secondo set di schemi, è il mio preferito! Prosegue la serie di schemi simili al Robins and Snow dedicato ai pettirossi e uscita qualche anno fa, ma quest’anno il tema centrale insieme ai pettirossi sono le stelle! Stelle rosse per Natale, per l’Avvento o semplicemente per la stagione invernale, dello stesso colore delle bacche scarlatte in inverno.

The set includes the robin holding a beautiful red star with his beak, the smaller one who has landed in the centre of a large empty star, then two robins playing next to another star and finally, three very sweet robins swinging on the swing, next to a tiny star. Their purpose is very important: to bring sweetness and joy wherever they are stitched and hung among the Christmas decorations!
What can I say, I love them, I hope you like them too! :)

Il set comprende il pettirosso che regge col becco una bella stella rossa, quello più piccino che si è posato dentro una grande stella vuota al centro, poi due pettirossi che giocano accanto a un’altra stella e infine, tre dolcissimi pettirossi che dondolano sull’altalena, accanto a una stellina più piccola. Il loro scopo è molto importante, portare dolcezza e gioia ovunque vengano ricamati e appesi fra le decorazioni natalizie!
Che dire, io li adoro, spero che piacciano anche a voi! :)

But the surprises aren’t over yet, there will still be a very cute pattern coming out in the next few days… and a special gift for all of you! And obviously our Advent Candle SAL will begin soon. So, for now I wish you a joyful start to December, and I’ll see you on Sunday!

Advent Candles SAL 2023

Dear Stitchers, we are approaching the Christmas season, and above all, we are close to the beginning of the Advent time, that step by step, day after day - Sunday after Sunday - will lead us to the magical Christmas’ Day. Last year I proposed to you for the first time a pattern dedicated to the Advent Candles, and you loved it very much. I loved it as well, so much that I had other inspirations for similar patterns to propose to you every year, thus starting our own tradition for the Advent time to share together. Every year I will offer you a new version of the four Advent Candles, which you can embroider to participate in the “Advent Candles SAL”, but you can also choose the pattern of a previous year, if you prefer.

The PDF to download is always also included in the pattern.
And then, here we come to the point, the pattern I designed this year for the 2023 SAL. I wanted to combine two symbols linked to Advent: the candles, obviously, but also the stars, which recall the Advent Star which shines in the windows of Northern Europe in the season of Advent. I really liked the two together, and I hope you like them too.

Care Ricamine, ci stiamo avvicinando al periodo natalizio, e soprattutto, siamo vicine all’inizio del tempo dell’Avvento, che passo dopo passo, giorno dopo giorno – domenica dopo domenica – ci porterà al magico giorno di Natale. Un anno fa vi ho proposto per la prima volta uno schema dedicato alle Candele dell’Avvento, e lo avete amato molto. L’ho amato molto anche io, tanto da avere altre ispirazioni per schemi simili da proporvi ogni anno, iniziando così una nostra tradizione per il periodo dell’Avvento da condividere insieme. Ogni anno vi proporrò una nuova versione delle quattro Candele dell’Avvento, che potrete ricamare per partecipare al SAL “Advent Candles SAL”, ma potrete anche scegliere lo schema dell’anno o degli anni precedenti, se li preferite.

E poi, eccoci al dunque, ovvero allo schema che ho disegnato quest’anno per il SAL 2023. Ho voluto unire due simboli legati all’avvento, ovvero le candele, ovviamente, ma anche le stelle, che richiamano la Stella dell’Avvento che brilla alle finestre del Nord Europa nel tempo dell’Avvento. Le due, insieme, mi sono piaciute tanto, e spero che piacciano anche a voi.

Below you will find all the information to participate in the SAL and the dates of the lighting of the candles:

ADVENT CANDLES SAL 2023
Let’s light together the Advent Candles

Starting from the first Advent Sunday, until the last one, the one before Christmas Eve, we will light together the four Advent Candles, stitching their flame in a magical and symbolic gesture.

* The first flame will be lit on Sunday December 3th 2023.
* The second flame will be lit on Sunday December 10th.
* The third flame on Sunday December 17th.
* The fourth and final one will be lit on Sunday December 24th.

To participate, all you have to do is stitch the Advent Starry Candles pattern, or the Advent Magic Candles pattern released in 2022 if you prefer, in order to have the candles ready to be “lit” during the Advent time. You can also stitch the entire candle on its own Sunday.
If you can’t do it in time, you can easily stitch according to your time and still participate, with the heart, in the lighting of the Advent Candles.
However, the SAL will be repeated in the coming years, so that all those who want to participate can do so at the right time.

You can also accompany the stitching, or the lighting of the stitched flames, with the lighting of real wax candles, by getting yourself a beautiful Advent Wreath, or a simple tray in which to place four small candles, decorated with a few sprigs of evergreen and some berries – real or fake, as you prefer – according to the splendid ancient custom of Advent Candles.

If you want, you can share your progress and above all, spread the light of Advent by photographing your flame and posting it on your pages and on the FB page The Little Stitchers’ Club, using the hashtag #adventcandlessal2023.

Accendiamo insieme le Candele dell’Avvento

A partire dalla prima domenica di Avvento, fino all’ultima, quella che cade prima della vigilia di Natale, accenderemo insieme le quattro Candele dell’Avvento, ricamando, in un gesto magico e simbolico, la loro fiamma.

* La prima fiamma verrà accesa domenica 3 dicembre 2023.
* La seconda fiamma sarà accesa domenica 10 dicembre.
* La terza fiamma domenica 17 dicembre.
* La quarta e ultima verrà accesa domenica 24 dicembre.

Per partecipare non dovete fare altro che ricamare lo schema Advent Starry Candles, oppure lo schema Advent Magic Candles uscito nel 2022, se lo preferite, in modo da avere le candele pronte per essere “accese” durante il periodo dell’Avvento. Potete anche ricamare l’intera candela durante la sua propria domenica.
Se non riuscite a farlo in tempo, potete tranquillamente ricamare secondo il vostro tempo e partecipare comunque, col cuore, all’accensione delle Candele dell’Avvento.
Il SAL sarà comunque ripetuto i prossimi anni, così che tutte e tutti coloro che vogliono partecipare possano farlo nei giusti tempi.

Potete accompagnare il ricamo, ovvero l’accensione delle fiamme, all’accensione di vere candele di cera, procurandovi una bella Corona dell’Avvento, o un semplice vassoietto nel quale riporre quattro piccoli ceri, decorati con qualche rametto di sempreverde e qualche bacca – veri o finti, come preferite – secondo la splendida usanza di origine antica delle Candele dell’Avvento.

Christmas Time 2022 - Part II

Dear Stitchers,
another sweet little pattern set has just arrived from the snowy wood, and it has scattered snowflakes everywhere! To draw it I was completely inspired by some photographs that I have loved a lot for several years. In these photographs, a deer stretches its neck, and a hare stands up balancing on its hind legs to grab some red berries and eat them greedily. They are the most coveted and tasty winter food, and provide for the survival of the animals, as well as giving scarlet brushstrokes that stand out among the dark branches and the white snow, creating enchanted landscapes.

un altro piccolo dolce set di schemi è appena arrivato dal bosco innevato, e ha sparso fiocchi di neve ovunque! Per disegnarlo mi sono ispirata completamente ad alcune fotografie che amo molto da diversi anni. In queste fotografie, un daino allunga il collo, e un leprotto si alza in equilibrio sulle zampette posteriori per arrivare ad afferrare alcune bacche rosse e mangiarle golosamente. Sono il cibo invernale più ambito e gustoso, e provvede alla sopravvivenza degli animali, oltre a dare pennellate scarlatte che spiccano fra i rami scuri e la neve bianchissima, creando paesaggi incantati.

I also added a third pattern to the deer and hare ones, with a sweet little sparrow pecking at the red berries on the highest and unreachable branches.
Finally, another simple decoration with my beloved snowflakes hanging between branches of berries and red ribbons. I have a lot of them on to my Christmas Tree and I love to design and create them also in a cute stitched version.

Al cervo e al leprotto ho aggiunto anche un terzo disegno, dove un dolce passerotto sta beccando le bacche rosse sui rami più alti e inarrivabili.
Infine, un’altra semplice decorazione con i miei amati fiocchi di neve appesi fra rami di bacche e fiocchi rossi. Ne ho un mucchio appesi al mio Albero di Natale e adoro disegnarli e crearli anche in una dolce versione ricamata.

I love these designs and the real animals that inspired them very much, and I hope I managed to recreate, with stitches and colors, a pinch of the real magic of the winter forest.

Amo moltissimo questi disegni e gli animali reali che li hanno ispirati, e spero di essere riuscita a ricreare, con punti e colori, un pizzico della reale magia del bosco d’inverno.

The last pattern I present you this Christmas is also the first that I had announced, I wanted to do it since I knew that to get it back framed I would have to wait more than two weeks. It represents a symbol of Swedish Christmas that I love very much, the Advent Star, or Adventsstjärna. It is usually made of perforated paper, white or red, internally illuminated by small bulbs and hung on the window.

L’ultimo schema che vi presento per questo Natale è anche il primo che avevo annunciato, ci tenevo a farlo dal momento che sapevo che per riaverlo indietro incorniciato avrei dovuto aspettare più di due settimane. Rappresenta un simbolo del Natale svedese che amo moltissimo, la Stella dell’Avvento, o Adventsstjärna. Viene realizzata solitamente di carta traforata, bianca oppure rossa, illuminata internamente da piccole lampadine e appesa alla finestra.

Almost every house in beautiful Sweden shows the bright Advent Star at the window, along with other symbols of Nordic Christmas, all related to abundance and light.

Quasi ogni casa, nella splendida Svezia, mostra la luminosa Stella dell’Avvento alla finestra, insieme ad altri simboli del Natale nordico, tutti legati all’abbondanza e alla luce.

This one is not made of perforated paper, but can be stitched and hung on the window, just in time for the sacred feast of Saint Lucy.
I wanted to stitch this pattern myself, despite the pain in my neck that has been preventing me from stitching for several consecutive hours for several years, because I love it very much and stitching it was almost a ritual for me, a magical gesture, a Christmas spell.

Questa non è di carta traforata, ma può essere ricamata e appesa vicino alla finestra, giusto in tempo per la sacra festa di Santa Lucia.
Ho voluto ricamare io stessa questo schema, nonostante il dolore al collo che ormai da parecchi anni mi impedisce di ricamare per più ore consecutive, perché la amo molto e ricamarla per me è stato quasi un rito, un gesto magico, un incantesimo di Natale.

Christmas Time 2022 - Part I

Dear Stitchers,
I’m ready to show you other three new patterns, designed for this Christmas time and for this magical winter. Two more others will arrive soon, I only need to finish the last seams, and wait for the loooong delivery of one of the small patterns that has been framed.
The first set of patterns that I present to you features my beloved little animals, but this time the scarlet winter berries are the real protagonists. Under branches of red berries and elegant wreaths, the little animals stand motionless and listen to the soft rustle of falling snow.

Care Ricamine,
sono pronta a mostrarvi altri tre nuovi schemi, disegnati per questo periodo natalizio e per questo magico inverno. Altri due arriveranno al più presto, giusto il tempo di rifinire le ultime cuciture, e attendere la luuuunga consegna di uno dei piccoli ricami incorniciato.
Il primo set di schemi che vi presento riprende i miei amatissimi piccoli animali, ma questa volta sono le bacche scarlatte dell’inverno ad essere le vere protagoniste. Sotto rami di bacche rosse ed eleganti ghirlande, gli animaletti restano immobili e ascoltano il soffice fruscio della neve che cade.

A blackbird is about to taste a juicy berry, a small white bird mingles with the snow and will soon peck a delicious berry, and a very sweet hare watches enchanted a snowflake falls, which will land right on its little nose. Finally, a large snowflake has let itself be captured by a red ribbon and now decorates the branches of the forest.
This set is the first of two, the second is equally special, and I’m sure you will feel its sweetness…

Un merlo sta per assaggiare una succosa bacca, un piccolo uccellino bianco si confonde con la neve e a breve beccherà una golosa bacca, e un dolcissimo leprotto osserva incantato il cadere di un fiocco di neve, che si poserà proprio sul suo nasino. Infine, un grande fiocco di neve si è lasciato catturare da un nastrino rosso e ora decora i rami del bosco.
Questo set è il primo di due, il secondo è altrettanto speciale, e sono sicura che ne sentirete la dolcezza…

To my great joy, my series dedicated to bookmarks continues, and it will be more and more full of joyful little animals that will keep your reading company during all seasons of the year. Following the Bee and the Little Autumn Fox, come the Little Winter Cardinal and, of course – the constant symbol of The Little Stitcher – the Little Winter Robin.

Prosegue con mia grande gioia la mia serie dedicata ai segnalibri, che saranno sempre di più e sempre più pieni di gioiosi animaletti che terranno compagnia alle vostre letture durante tutte le stagioni dell’anno. A seguire l’Ape e la Piccola Volpe d’Autunno, arrivano il Piccolo Cardinale Rosso d’Inverno e, naturalmente – simbolo costante di The Little Stitcher – il Piccolo Pettirosso d’Inverno.

The red cardinal loves being among the branches of conifers, with their dark green needles. With his chirping she teaches the alphabet and keeps track of the most special books. With its ornament you can decorate the Christmas Tree or your home during the cold and snowy winter months.

Il cardinale rosso ama molto stare fra i rami di conifere, con i loro aghi color verde scuro. Con il suo cinguettio insegna l’alfabeto e tiene il segno ai libri più speciali.
Con l’ornament invece potrete addobbare l’Albero di Natale oppure la vostra casa durante i freddi e nevosi mesi invernali.

The little robin, on the other hand, prefers to blend in among the wild rose branches, with their orange-red berries, and literally immerse himself in the pages of the most beautiful stories. Even with its ornament you can decorate the Christmas Tree or your home during the winter months.

Il piccolo pettirosso invece preferisce mimetizzarsi fra i rami di rosa canina, con le loro bacche arancio-rosse, e immergendosi letteralmente fra le pagine dei racconti più belli.
Anche con il suo ornament potete decorare l’Albero di Natale oppure la casa durante i mesi invernali.

Since I’m literally surrounded by all these ornaments and bookmarks, I can tell you that they are really a feast for the eyes, with their warm and lively colors.
For the first time I also used raw linen, and I must say that I love its effect very much, so I will use it again and it will be a constant for many upcoming patterns.

Dal momento che sono circondata da tutti questi ornament e segnalibri, vi posso dire che sono davvero una gioia per gli occhi, con i loro colori caldi e vivaci.
Per la prima volta ho anche utilizzato il lino grezzo, e devo dire che amo moltissimo il suo effetto, per cui lo utilizzerò ancora e sarà una costante per molti prossimi schemi.

Advent Magic Candles

The night grows step by step, leading us towards the shortest days of the year and towards the moment of greatest darkness, the Winter Solstice.
In ancient times, the pre-Christian Scandinavian peoples used to light fires or candles, and place them on a wheel, the Wheel of the Earth, praying to the divinities of light to make it turn again in the direction of the Sun, so as to make its rays and heat reappear and lengthen the endless cold nights.
Over time, the custom was adopted by the Christian church and thus the Advent Crown was born, a crown made up of intertwined branches – or of a metal structure – and decorated with natural elements, suitable for holding four candles. The four candles are lit one for each Sunday of Advent, i.e. for the four Sundays preceding Christmas Eve, and recall the approach of the birth of the new light – symbolized in this case by Christ – and therefore of the rebirth of the Sun.
The Advent Wreath can be circular, as the oldest tradition one, or the Advent Candles can be arranged in a row, to create a sort of path, or staircase, which culminates with the highest flame, the fourth, the one which burns together with all the others on the last Sunday before Christmas.

To decorate the Advent Wreath, some symbols cannot be missing, such as evergreen branches and in many cases, moss, red berries, pine cones and dried fruit. Pine and holly recall immortality and life that continues to resist even in the heart of winter, sprigs of cedar attract healing and strength, laurel recalls victory over suffering, while pine cones, red berries, nuts and dried fruit symbolize nourishment, life and rebirth.
The circle of the crown, on the other hand, represents the eternity of the divinity and immortality of the soul.

La notte cresce passo dopo passo, portandoci verso le giornate più corte dell’anno e verso il momento di maggiore oscurità, il Solstizio d’Inverno.
Anticamente i popoli scandinavi precristiani usavano accendere fuochi o ceri, e riporli su una ruota, la Ruota della Terra, pregando le divinità della luce di farla girare nuovamente nella direzione del Sole, così da far riapparire i suoi raggi e il suo calore e allungare le gelide e infinite notti nordiche.
Col tempo, l’usanza venne adottata dalla chiesa cristiana e nacque così la Corona dell’Avvento, una corona composta solitamente da rami intrecciati – o da una struttura metallica – e decorata con elementi naturali, adatta a contenere quattro candele. Le quattro candele vengono accese una per ogni domenica dell’Avvento, ovvero per le quattro domeniche che precedono la vigilia di Natale, e richiamano l’avvicinarsi della nascita della nuova luce – simboleggiata in questo caso da Cristo – e quindi della rinascita del Sole.
La Corona dell’Avvento può essere circolare, come da tradizione più antica, oppure le Candele dell’Avvento possono essere disposte in fila, a creare una sorta di percorso, o di scala, che culmina con la fiamma più alta, la quarta, quella che arde insieme a tutte le altre l’ultima domenica prima di Natale.

A decorare la Corona dell’Avvento, non possono mancare alcuni simboli, come i rami di sempreverde e, in molti casi, muschio, bacche rosse, pigne e frutta secca. Il pino e l’agrifoglio richiamano l’immortalità e la vita che continua a resistere anche nel cuore dell’inverno, rametti di cedro attirano guarigione e forza, l’alloro richiama la vittoria sulla sofferenza, mentre pigne, bacche rosse, noci e frutta secca simboleggiano il nutrimento, la vita e la rinascita.
Il cerchio della corona, invece, rappresenta l’eternità del divino e l’immortalità dell’anima.

In the more Christian version, the first candle is the Candle of the Prophet, and refers to the prophecies about the coming of Christ; the second one is the Candle of Bethlehem, to remember the native land of Christ; the third one is the Candle of the Shepherds, who are those who first adored Christ; finally, the fourth candle is the Candle of the Angels, who first of all announced the birth of Christ to the world.
Some Advent Wreaths then have a fifth candle, placed in the center, it’s the Candle of Christ. This is lit on Christmas Eve and symbolizes the birth of the divine Child, who represents the light in the world.

According to a more secular version, the four candles recall four beneficial meanings, which at the same time act as magic words.
The first candle is Hope, the second candle is Peace – or sometimes Faith, the third candle is Joy, the fourth candle is Love. Where there is a fifth candle, this could represent Light.
The progressive lighting of the candles in fact recalls the growth of light, or its victory over darkness.

Le quattro candele hanno ognuna un proprio significato. Nella versione più fedelmente cristiana, la prima candela è la Candela del Profeta, e rimanda alle profezie sulla venuta di Cristo; la seconda è la Candela di Betlemme, a ricordare la terra natia di Cristo; la terza è la Candela dei Pastori, che sono coloro che per primi adorarono Cristo; infine la quarta è la Candela degli Angeli, che prima di tutti annunciarono al mondo la nascita di Cristo.
Alcune Corone dell’Avvento hanno poi una quinta candela, posta al centro, la Candela di Cristo. Questa viene accesa la notte della vigilia di Natale e simboleggia la nascita del Bambino divino, che rappresenta la luce nel mondo.

Secondo una versione più laica, le quattro candele richiamano quattro significati benefici, che al contempo fungono da parole magiche.
La prima candela è la Speranza, la seconda candela è la Pace – o in certi casi la Fede, la terza candela è la Gioia, la quarta candela è l’Amore. Laddove è presente una quinta candela, questa potrebbe rappresentare la Luce.
La progressiva accensione delle candele richiama infatti la crescita della luce, ovvero la sua vittoria sulle tenebre.

With this pattern I wanted to represent the four Advent Candles, giving them the look I love the most. The set also contains the four ornaments with the symbolic words of the four candles, Hope, Peace, Joy and Love, and also includes a single candle, taken from the first, to be stitched as single ornament.

Con questo schema ho voluto rappresentare le quattro candele dell’Avvento, dando loro l’aspetto che amo di più. Il set contiene anche i quattro ornament con le parole simbolo delle quattro candele, Hope, Peace, Joy e Love, e comprende anche una candela singola, ripresa dalla prima, da confezionare come ornament.

ADVENT MAGIC CANDLES SAL 2022
Let’s light together the Advent Magic Candles

Starting this Sunday, until the last Sunday before Christmas Eve, we will light the four Advent Candles together, stitching their flame in a magical and symbolic gesture.

The first flame will be lit on Sunday 27 November 2022.
The second flame will be lit on Sunday December 4th.
The third flame on Sunday December 11th.
The fourth and final one will be lit on Sunday December 18th.

If you want to participate in this little SAL, all you have to do is buy the Advent Magic Candles pattern and stitch it so that the candles are ready to be lit during the Advent period. You can also stitch the entire candle on its own Sunday.
If you can’t do it in time, you can easily stitch according to your time and still participate, with the heart, in the lighting of the Advent Candles.
However, the SAL will be repeated in the coming years, so that all those who want to participate can do so at the right time.

Between one candle and another you can have fun embroidering the various decorations that embellish the pattern, and the four ornaments – Hope, Peace, Joy and Love – which can be hung on your Christmas tree or placed next to the embroidery of the Advent Candles.
The set also includes the pattern of a single candle, which can become a graceful ornament to remind us of the light to be kept alive every day.

You can also accompany the stitching, or the lighting of the stitched flames, with the lighting of real wax candles, by getting yourself a beautiful Advent Wreath, or a simple tray in which to place four small candles, decorated with a few sprigs of evergreen and some berries – real or fake, as you prefer – according to the splendid ancient custom of Advent Candles.

ADVENT MAGIC CANDLES SAL 2022
Accendiamo insieme le Candele dell’Avvento

A partire da questa domenica, fino all’ultima prima della vigilia di Natale, accenderemo insieme le quattro Candele dell’Avvento, ricamando, in un gesto magico e simbolico, la loro fiamma.

La prima fiamma verrà accesa domenica 27 novembre 2022.
La seconda fiamma sarà accesa domenica 4 dicembre.
La terza fiamma domenica 11 dicembre.
La quarta e ultima verrà accesa domenica 18 dicembre.

Se volete partecipare a questo piccolo SAL non dovete fare altro che acquistare lo schema Advent Magic Candles e ricamarlo in modo da avere le candele pronte per essere accese durante il periodo dell’Avvento. Potete anche ricamare l’intera candela durante la sua propria domenica.
Se non riuscite a farlo in tempo, potete tranquillamente ricamare secondo il vostro tempo e partecipare comunque, col cuore, all’accensione delle Candele dell’Avvento.
Il SAL sarà comunque ripetuto i prossimi anni, così che tutte e tutti coloro che vogliono partecipare possano farlo nei giusti tempi.

Tra una candela e l’altra potete divertirvi a ricamare le varie decorazioni che abbelliscono lo schema, e i quattro ornament – Hope, Peace, Joy e Love – che potranno essere appesi al vostro Albero di Natale o posti accanto al ricamo delle Candele dell’Avvento.
Nel set è compreso anche lo schema di una candela singola, che può diventare un grazioso ornament a ricordare la luce da mantenere viva ogni giorno.

Potete accompagnare il ricamo, ovvero l’accensione delle fiamme, all’accensione di vere candele di cera, procurandovi una bella Corona dell’Avvento, o un semplice vassoietto nel quale riporre quattro piccoli ceri, decorati con qualche rametto di sempreverde e qualche bacca – veri o finti, come preferite – secondo la splendida usanza di origine antica delle Candele dell’Avvento.
