Funky Flowers

Hi! Here are a couple of Mother's Day cards I made, using my new Lili of the Valley flowers! I love these images :)

I coloured the flowers with inks. For the first card, I layered up the middle panel to add a bit of dimension, and added a little gem. For the second card, I added white dots with a white gelly roll pen, and some glitter with a Clear Star gelly roll pen.

First card in ages... Sparkly Unicorn!

Hiya. Here's a card I made for a friend's birthday. I masked the unicorn, then used ink dusters to colour the background. I coloured the unicorn with a gold Wink of Stella pen and a Clear Star gelly roll pen. I used Lavinia stamps to add the flowers, and added Nuvo drops for the flower centres. I added the gelly roll pen to the word 'Magical', to give it some extra sparkle.

Pink Painted Harvest Flowers

Hi! Here's another card I made with my new SU set. I love these flowers! I wanted to try them in pink, inspired by the current Card Concept challenge, but then I saw the Cupcake Inspirations challenge, and decided to try using those colours - I would never have thought about putting them together before, but I love how the card has turned out! I used Stickles for a bit of sparkle in the centre of the flowers.

Reject Oxide Trees

Hi! I got a new JOFY stamp a few days ago, and as I'm rubbish at colouring I was looking around for other options. I found some of my reject Distress Oxide experiments which were too murky or just not right for what I'd originally had in mind for them. I stamped the image onto the card, and again on one of the oxide rejects, then cut out the trees and pots from the rejects and paper pieced them onto the card. I used a glitter gel pen to colour the star and some of the details on the trees and pots, and then added Nuvo Drops to brighten the rejects up and add a bit of dimension. On the darker rejects, I used a white Uni Posca pen to brighten up the trees in places, and add some contrast. Here are my reject trees (I was going to call them Cock Up Trees, but it put me in mind of dogs marking their territory, and went for Reject Trees instead...):

Stencilled Flower

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Muse card. I used a stencil which can be used to create a detailed flower, and also to create the outline around the flower. I created the detailed flower first, using pink and orange distress oxides, and then filled in the background with a paler pink distress ink. I stamped the sentiment with the orange distress ink, then added gold Nuvo Drops to the flower centre and dotted the 'i's in the sentiment.
