Bunch of Flowers!

Hi! Color Throwdown's current challenge is to make a card using these colours:

I made my card by clear embossing the image, then colouring with inks and adding Liquid Pearls. I layered the image on green and kraft card, then added washi tape, some ribbon and the sentiment.

Fab Friday Colours

Hi! I've just made a card inspired by a colour challenge, a sketch and a bingo board! I used the Summer Silhouettes SU stamps, added Stickles to the flowers, and used a little gem to dot the 'i' in 'birthday'. Here's what I came up with:

Yellow & Gold!

Hi! There are a few sunshine-related challenges around at the moment, which makes me think of sitting in the garden surrounded by bright flowers and happy bees! So here's a card inspired by sunshine:

I watercoloured the images with inks, and then added some gold with a Wink of Stella brush pen, and added stickles to the wings of the bees. The shimmery gold from the Wink of Stella isn't that obvious in the photo, but it looks lovely when the light catches it :)

Charm Bracelets

Hi! Inspired by a sketch in the current challenge at Feeling Sketchy, I've made a couple of charm bracelet cards. Here's the sketch:

I had fun making this card, so I made it in 3 different colours. I layered a few of the charm images, added Diamond Glaze to some of the beads to make them glossy, and then added 3 punched flowers with gems, and a silver flower charm. Here are the cards:

I'm entering this blue one in the Feeling Sketchy challenge.

I'm entering this one into the following challenges:

The Crazy Challenge: 'Children's Games', because kids make charm bracelets for each other

Just Us Girls: 'Stack Die Cuts' - I haven't got any dies, but the challenge says you can also use punches, anything to give dimension, so hopefully this will count, as it has flower punches and the layered charms I cut out :)

I'm entering this last one in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge : 'Cut It Out'

Water brush

I've had a couple of those water brushes (the ones that you fill with water) for ages, but didn't really know what to do them. After seeing Heather Telford's post here, I had to try it! Her video shows how she colours the stamped flowers with the brush, and it looks so effective. I have to practice a fair bit, but here's one of my first attempts. I'm also using my new wink of stella gold pen - had to get one after seeing Heather's video :)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Card for a Lake District Mountain Rescue search dog handler

I was asked to make a card for one of the brave mountain rescue dog handlers in the Lake District. She wanted a card with trees, and preferably a black labrador. I haven't got a stamp for a lab, so I printed off a lab silhouette, and then used Lavinia stamps and ink dusters to create the rest of the card. This is what I came up with, before layering it on a card:

I sent the pic to my friend, to see if it was the sort of thing she wanted, and she loved it! But then she said... would it be possible for the dog to have a rescue dog jacket on?

After the initial panic of how to do this, I found a photo of a rescue dog wearing a jacket, and printed it off at the right size for the lab silhouette. Here's the dog with his coat on:

I layered the image on charcoal card and then onto a a green card that matched the green ink. I forgot to take a photo of the finished card, but my friend said she was very pleased with it. I hope her Mountain Rescue friend will like it :)

More Fairies!

Hiya!

I'm so pleased that I made a few cards in the last couple of days, I'm over-blogging today, to try to make up for not posting for ages...

Here's a fairy card - I love fairies!

I'm entering this one in a couple of challenges:

And here's another fairy card, using one of my favourite images from Sweet Pea Stamps:

I love blues and soft browns together, and am entering this card in the Sweet Pea Stampers 'Favourite Colours' challenge.

On the subject of fairies, I saw a link on  Coldwaters2's blog for some lovely fairy / pixie stamps here:

I might need to start making up a Christmas Wish List.
