Some Glass Beads

Hi! I haven't made many glass beads this year, and I've really missed it! Here are a few I made last weekend. I'm still deciding what to use them for, but the two ivory ones look like candidates for a pair of earrings...

There are a couple of challenges at the moment with an "Anything But A Card" theme. I'm not sure if glass beads count, but I'm entering this last bead in case...

These are the challenges:

New Etsy listings

I've made a few new things over the last few months, and only just got around to taking some photos and posting them on Etsy.

Here are a few pics:

The beads for this bracelet and pendant were made using turquoise glass that reacts with the ivory glass petals, creating the black border around the flowers, and giving it a watercolour painted effect.

This pendant is made using two marbled glass beads. Marbled beads are great to make, watching the colours swirl together in the heat.

I had a few sea-inspired beads that I wasn't sure what to do with, so I made a sea bracelet, using memory wire and and a seahorse charm

I've been experimenting with glass tiles recently, and made this pendant with one of my favourite backing paper designs.

Had a bit of a 'red' obsession a few months back, and made these three memory wire bracelets :)

Here's a bracelet I made which is covered with dangling flower charms made of seed beads and flower beads.

New Beads!

Hi! I've been making some new beads! Really pleased with how they have turned out, and just need to work out how to use them now...

I'm really pleased with how this yellow bead turned out. It's made using a glass called Mystic Yellow, and it looks transparent until it's heated, when it turns all cloudy. I can't wait to make some more of these, and play with this glass again!

This bead is made with transparent blue in the centre, encased with purple glass, so it shines with both colours. This is my new favourite technique!

This bead uses the same technique, with a deep indigo purple centre, encased with pale blue.

This bead uses silvered ivory and green frit to create the landscape. Looking forward to trying a few more landscape beads!

I love the colour of this bead - it uses a glass called rubino ora. The swirls were created using some purple and white frit.

New Bracelets

I sold a couple of my bracelets on Thursday, which has sparked off fresh enthusiasm to make jewellery :) I made a few bracelets, a pendant and a pair of earrings over the last few days:

Another reason for my renewed interest is that a friend of mine is now making jewellery, and her enthusiasm is infectious! A few of her creations are now on Etsy, here: Fairy Dust Sparkles

And More Beads

Had a great time last Sunday, making beads for the first time in months! No idea where the time goes, and can't believe it has been so long.

Anyway, here's what I made:

Glass snakes

Spent the sunniest day of the bank holiday cooped up in the flame room, making beads with a friend from work.

Here are a few of the beads I made. Snakes are my new obsession!

Missing making beads and cards

Haven't been on here for a while, mainly because I haven't made anything recently. I've been ill since the beginning of July, and can't wait to get my operation over with, so I can get back to making and melting things!

However, I am very lucky to have wonderful family and friends, who have been visiting a lot, and keeping me sane :)  This week we had a girly card making night, where more gossipping than cards was done, but it was good to have such wonderful company :) I made a card, but it was a joint effort - Linda's design, and Lou inked all the edges!

Linda made a couple of very pretty cards:

Her blog is here: Crafty Distraction

I haven't made any glass beads for months, and I really miss it. These are the last ones I made, back in May & June:

So because I haven't actually done anything for ages, I've posted photos of cards Linda made, and beads I made ages ago :)
