CAS on Friday Guest Designer!

Hi! I am very honoured to be invited as guest designer for the current challenge over at CAS on Friday! The theme is:

One layer wonder - make a card with no layers

I have a brand new stamp set from Paper Artsy, which I thought would be perfect for this challenge. I stamped the flowers, then coloured with inks and a water brush. When dry, I added extra detail with a white gel pen. To keep it completely one layer, I resisted the urge to add Nuvo Drops - I'm never quite sure if Nuvo Drops or gems are allowed on one layer cards! But I'm pleased with how it turned out - the white gel pen brightens up the blocks of colour.

Ingredients:
Paper Artsy stamp set: EKC15 (by Kay Carley)
'Birthday Wishes' sentiment from Woodware 'Daisy Panel'
Adirondack Ink pads: Cranberry, Butterscotch, Meadow
White Sakura Gelly Roll gel pen

Guest Designer at Inkspirational!

Hi! I am so excited to have been invited as a Guest Designer for the current Inkspirational challenge!

I made a card using my fairly new stamp set from 'Stamps By Me'. I stamped the outline in black, then inked up the petals stamp with blue and purple, spritzed with water, and then stamped. I know this isn't a new technique, but it's fairly new to me, and I love it! The colours blend beautifully, and you get a lovely watercolour effect :) I cut a square frame with my die cuts, stamped the birthday sentiment in blue and purple ink, and attached the frame with 3d squares. I added Nuvo Drops to the flower centres, and to the 'i's in the sentiment.

Ingredients:
Stamps By Me: Amazing Daisy set
'Birthday Wishes' sentiment from Woodware 'Daisy Panel'
Artistry Ink pads: Indian Jamun, Blue Chase
Nuvo Crystal Drops: Pale Gold

Guest Designer for Addicted to CAS

Hi! I am over the moon to have been invited as a Guest Designer for the Addicted to CAS challenge, 'Wood'!

I decided to create a wooded scene with a birch trees stencil and ink dusters. I outlined the trunks and some of the branches with a silver pen, then added a few stamped elements, and added gems to the flower centres. I hope it is CAS enough! And yes, I know the leaves are wrong for birch trees, but it's such a pretty stamp I'm hoping it won't matter...

Ingredients:
Lavinia Stamps: 'Creeping Vine', 'Small Mushrooms' and flower from 'Leaf Trail'
Sentiment from Cardmaking & Papercraft
Memory Box stencil 'Birch Landscape'
Artistry Ink pads: Indian Jamun, Rich Mocha
Adirondack ink: Butterscotch
Crystal Parade clear gems

Guest Designer for City Crafter!

Hi! I am very honoured to have been invited as Guest Designed for the City Crafter challenge "Old Stuff, New Look!" :)

This challenge is to take an old project and give it a new look, either by working on an old project you weren't happy about, or duplicating an old project but with a new look. I've gone for the second option, and decided to remake a more colourful version of an old card.

Here's my original card:

I like the richness of the colours against the gold embossing, but this was one of my first attempts with Brushos, and I wanted to try with a bit less paint (I find it's really easy to over do it with Brushos!) more colours, and to try to worry less about where the colours went.

I used a white embossing powder, and then red, blue and green brushos, letting them merge and run a bit. When dry, I cut it out against the border, which meant a bit of fussy cutting (which I really struggle with!), but I think it gives it a cleaner look, especially against the white cardstock underneath. I added a few gems to make it shine, and added a few extra details to the flowers with a white gel pen. I left it without a sentiment, so it could be used for various occasions.

Ingredients:
Woodware stamp: 'Love Tulips'
Brushos: Rose Red, Emerald Green, Cobalt Blue
White gel pen
Crystal Parade gems: Clear

Color Throwdown Guest Star Stamper!

Hi! I'm lucky enough to be the Guest Star Stamper at Color Throwdown this week! I used some new scribbly flowers stamps from Card-io, which I bought at the NEC Hobbycrafts Fair a few weeks ago. I didn't have quite the right colours for the challenge, but I was able to borrow some ink pads from my lovely friend Crafty Distraction! :)

Here are the colours:

And here's my card:

Cupcake Inspirations Surprise Sweetie!

Hi! I have been invited to be a Surprise Sweetie for Cupcake Inspirations!

Here's this week's challenge:

The sponsor for this week's challenge is AliciaBel, which is where I got the image I used for my card. She's called 'Faery of the Snow'.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers, added some iridescence with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, and then added a few gems for a bit of sparkle.

Thank you for visiting!

Another Uniko Post

Hi! Here's my 2nd card for the current Uniko challenge: "Christmas with an optional twist of CAS (Clean & Simple)"

I used the 'Stunning Snowflakes' stamp set from Uniko again, with a Clarity Stamp Christmas tree stencil. I stamped large and small snowflakes in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder, then stamped more small snowflakes in deep blue. I used ink dusters to add blue and purple ink for the background. I added small gems to the snowflake centres.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko Guest Designer!

Hi! I'm very proud to be Guest Designer for Uniko's November challenge! This month's challenge is:

Christmas with an optional twist of CAS (Clean & Simple)

I used the 'Stunning Snowflakes' stamp set from Uniko to make my card. I masked off the top and bottom of the card to leave a panel. I stamped the sentiment and large snowflakes in Versamark ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I then stamped a few of the medium snowflakes in a light blue, and the small snowflakes in a darker blue. I used ink dusters to ink the background in blues and purples, and then wiped the excess ink off the embossed images to make them bright white again.

Here's my card:

Happy Little Stampers Sketch

Hi! I am so happy to have been invited as Guest Designer for the Happy Little Stampers November Sketch challenge!

Here's the sketch:

I found a tag shape online and printed it off on white card. Using my favourite Lavinia stamps, I stamped the sentiment, the fairy silhouette and the dandelions first, and then added the leaves in deep red, orange and yellow. I used the same ink pads to create the background, using ink dusters. I added Stickles to the fairy's wings and to the dandelions, to add a bit of sparkle. I cut a rectangle of burnt orange card, and stamped with the dandelions and leaves.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Inkspirational Autumn

Hi! Thanks so much to Inkspirational Challenges for inviting me to be a guest designer - such an honour, and so lovely to be asked! Here's the inspirational photo for the challenge:

There are lots of elements here to inspire, but I really love the colours and the trees. Here's what I came up with. I used ink dusters over a stencil to create the trees, and then added a bit of detail to the trees with a fine black marker. I stamped the leaves and wild grasses in yellow and orange, stamping twice to get different depths of colour. I added some Stickles to the leaves and grasses, and then added the punched butterflies and the sentiment.

CAS Colours & Sketches 4

Hi! This is my last week as a guest designer for CAS Colours & Sketches! This week's challenge is a sketch:

I struggled with this one a little, so ended up making two cards for it! Here's what I came up with:

This one was coloured with ProMarkers, and then smothered in Glamour Dust.

This one is also coloured with ProMarkers and drowned in Glamour Dust, with some little blue gems to add some Christmassy sparkle :)

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches 3

Hi! This is my 3rd week as guest designer at CAS Colours & Sketches, and this week it's a gorgeous colour challenge:

Here's what I came up with:

I masked the panel, stamped the leaves and used ink dusters to define the edges of the panel a little more. For the blossoms, I stamped the images onto watercolour paper, and clear embossed them. Then I coloured them with inks and a waterbrush, and added small gems to the centres.

Thanks for visiting :)

CAS Colours & Sketches 2

Hi! This is my 2nd week of being a guest designer for CAS Colours & Sketches, and this week's challenge was a bit tricky for me, a good challenge! Here's the sketch:

Here's the card I came up with:

I masked the circles one at a time and used ink dusters to colour them, to represent the moon and night sky. Then I stamped the Lavinia Moon Fairy image, and added more stars above. I added Glamour Dust to her wings and the stars.

I layered this on top of card stock that I'd coloured deep blue with ink dusters, to match the sky.

 Thanks for visiting!

Guest Star Stamper for a Color Throwdown challenge!

Hi! I am over the moon to be invited to be a Guest Star Stamper for this week's Color Throwdown challenge! The colours for this challenge are beautiful:

Here's what I came up with:

I used SU Garden in Bloom stamps to create the flowers, embossed with WOW! Platinum, on watercolour paper. I then used Cobalt Blue Brushos to create the background. I absolutely love Brushos - just one colour can give you different shades, and the colours are so rich with just a tiny bit of powder. I embossed the smaller blossoms and coloured them with Brushos, then cut them out to layer on the large petals.
