Thank You!

Hi! Here's a card I put together today. I actually made the flowery background a few years ago, but wasn't sure what to do with it, so it's been kicking around in the unfinished projects pile! The background was made with Crafty Notions colour sprays, gilding flakes and stamped flowers. I covered the flowers with some sort of glaze, but I can't remember what I used now. Then I glued the glass pebbles to the flower centres. The background was a much larger piece, but I liked how this section of it looked through the frame so I cut it down to fit, then added the sentiment.

Little Bats!

Hi! Here's a card I made for Halloween. I created the background by smooshing with Distress Oxides, then spritzing with Glimmer Mist. I punched a circle of double-sided adhesive for the moon, stuck it to the card and smothered it with gilding flakes. I absolutely love the look of gilding flakes, but I don't use them very often because they are so messy and seem to get everywhere! But I thought they worked really well for a Halloween moon. I die cut my bats out of black cardstock, and then used a bit more double-sided adhesive on a scrap of card, covered it with more gilding flakes, then cut a couple of pieces down to fit behind the bats, to give them bright shiny eyes.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Brushos Butterfly

Hi! I've had a bit of an embossing frenzy today, and I've also been playing with Brushos, so my desk needs a good clean, and my hands are very colourful! I bought a butterfly stamp at the NEC in March, but hadn't got around to using it until today.

I was inspired by the image at Fusion and the colours at AAA Cards, although I'm not sure if the butterfly stands out enough. I should've used a larger sentiment too, as it looks a little bit lost in all the colour!

I stamped with Versamark and embossed with Shabby White embossing enamel, which bubbles up, and has lovely fine gold glitter in it. Then I taped the paper down, spritzed it a few times, and went crazy with the Brushos. I used a brush to spread some of the purple around on the butterfly wings, but left the rest of the colour to go where it wanted.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp: 'Anything Goes'

Ingredients:
Inkylicious Stamp: 'Big Butterfly 1'

Ombre

Hi! Here's a card inspired by the Less Is More challenge 'Ombre' and the sketch for the Fusion challenge.

I masked the central panel and coloured the borders with ink dusters. I then added the flower stamps, coloured the lower ones with a deeper blue, and used a water brush with no ink to remove some colour from the flowers at the top. I used Nuvo drops for the centres of the flowers.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Less Is More: 'Ombre'

Flower stamps from Crafty Notions

Blossoms & Blue Skies

Hi! Here's a card I made with lots of blue! I didn't colour the blossoms at all, but added little spots of pollen with a Clear Star gelly roll pen. I'm not sure the sparkle shows very well in the photos, though.

New Stamps!

Hi! I got a few new stamps at the NEC Hobbycrafts fair in November, but haven't had chance to use them yet, as they weren't Christmassy. There are a couple of 'new' challenges at the moment, so I thought I'd break out one of the NEC purchases :)

I've made the same card twice, with different colours:

Watercolour Butterfly

Hi! Here's another flowery butterfly, this time inspired by the gorgeous image in the current Fusion Card Challenge. Instead of a blue butterfly on the flowers, I added the flowers to the butterfly:

This is the Fusion challenge inspirational photo - I LOVE the bright, summery colours!

Urrrg, man Cards are So Difficult

I've been trying to make Fathers Day cards, and I find it so difficult - really hard to resist the urge to add flowers, ribbons, glitter and gems to bling them up!

Inspired by a couple of challenges, I've made a couple of 'man' cards using a Stampin' Up stamp:

This first one was inspired by the following challenges:
Less Is More: 'Sunset'

The Friday Mashup: 'Let's Ombre'

Virginia's View; 'Ombre / Monochromatic'

And here's another card using the same stamp:

I'm entering this one into the following challenges:

Fusion: 'Blue Skies & Smooth Sailing'

I'm quite pleased with how these have turned out, but I still want to add some gems... and one or two flowers would be ok, surely... everyone likes flowers....

Happy Anniversary

Hi! Just been trying out my new heart stamp, and playing around with a sketch, and with colours from a couple of challenges. Here's what I've come up with, the same card with two different colour schemes:

I wasn't sure about using these colours for an anniversary card at first, but I like the freshness of the yellow. Colour challenges are great because you try things you would not normally think of :)
