Christmassy Distress Oxide Skies...

Hi! I've finally made a start on my Christmas cards! I've made 10 reindeer cards, creating the sky with Distress Oxides, and then layering die cuts. I used Nuvo Drops for eyes. I wanted to take a photo of all 10 cards together, as each sky is different, but there's not enough room on my desk, and to anyone but me they probably all look the same... So here's a pic of my favourite one, and a few pics of some of the others!

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Always Fun: 'Watercolours'
CAS Watercolour:
Challenge Up Your Life: 'Die Cuts'
Allsorts: 'Blue and Brown'
Deep Ocean: 'Inspired by a Song / Movie' - obviously Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!

Here are some of the others:

Ingredients:
Distress Oxide Inks: Broken China, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet

Hello!

Hi! Here's a little monster card, inspired by all the Halloween-themed challenges going on at the moment! I coloured him with inks and a watercolour pencil, and then added Glossy Accents to his eyes. I added a grey shadow under him, to ground him a little, but it hasn't shown up very well in the photo.

Autumn Flowers

Hi! Here's a card I made by die cutting some backgrounds I made with Distress Oxides. I love the Autumnal colours! I'm still getting the hang of die cutting, and I'm not sure if I've overdone it a bit, but it looked too plain with just the two large flowers. So I added some smaller leaves and small flowers, to try to create a bit of undergrowth. I usually add gems to the centre of flowers, but I went with pearls, as their softer look worked better with the colours.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Deep Ocean: 'Colours of Autumn'

Blue Skies & Blossoms

Hi! Here are a couple of cards I made today, inspired by this week's Muse challenge.

I stamped the image onto the reverse side of some hammered card, so there'd be a little bit of texture. I cut the image down to a square, and backed with white card and then navy card. It looked too dark placed straight onto navy. I added the sentiment, backed with navy card, and used a butterfly punch on some leftover stamped image. I added Nuvo Drops to the flower centres.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:

Muse:
4 Crafty Chicks: 'Butterflies'
Tuesday Throwdown:

I used a smooth card for this one, which gave a deeper blue and a crisper image. I used a smaller sentiment, to show off more of the image. I like the deeper blue, but I think I prefer the first card.

Deep Ocean Challenge: 'Spring'
Simon Says Stamp: 'Showers and/or Flowers'

Ingredients:

Christmas Jumpers

Hi! Here are some cards I made for friends and relatives this year - I'm always so disorganised and send out my cards really late, but these were quite quick to make, which took the stress off a bit!

I found clipart images of a sweater and a reindeer, layered them and printed them off. I coloured with promarkers and then added eyes and nose with Nuvo Drops. I used Nuvo Drops on the trim of the jumper too.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Inky Chicks: 'Christmas Card in Traditional Colours' (the red one!)

Deep Ocean Challenge: 'Silent Night' (the blue one!)

Crafty Creations: 'Any Holiday' (the green one!)

Glittery Wings

Hi! Here's a card I made for a friend's little 5 year old daughter. She loves fairies and glitter, so hopefully it went down well!

I used a digi from All Dressed Up, coloured with Promarkers, and then absolutely smothered the wings in Glamour Dust! I used my new Nuvo glitter drops on the flower centres and on the curls on Evie's name. I'm still getting the hang on using the drops, but I love them! I had a few attempts at taking a photo that shows how raised up and shiny they are... Thanks very much, Debbie, for introducing me to Nuvo :)

Using Black Cardstock

Hi! I've made a couple of cards inspired by the current Happy Little Stampers CASE challenge. I find it quite difficult to make cards using black cardstock. For both of these cards I stamped and embossed with Stampendous Shabby White - I love the glitter in it! I coloured over the embossing powder with promarkers on the first card, to add a little bit of colour. I used gems and liquid pearls on the second one.
