Little Bats!

Hi! Here's a card I made for Halloween. I created the background by smooshing with Distress Oxides, then spritzing with Glimmer Mist. I punched a circle of double-sided adhesive for the moon, stuck it to the card and smothered it with gilding flakes. I absolutely love the look of gilding flakes, but I don't use them very often because they are so messy and seem to get everywhere! But I thought they worked really well for a Halloween moon. I die cut my bats out of black cardstock, and then used a bit more double-sided adhesive on a scrap of card, covered it with more gilding flakes, then cut a couple of pieces down to fit behind the bats, to give them bright shiny eyes.

Cat & Dragon

Hi! Here's a card I made with a mix of Lavinia digi stamps and clear stamps. The trees and toadstools are digis, so I layered the images, making the trees further back a lighter grey, and printed it out. I masked the moon to create the sky with ink dusters, colouring the moon in afterwards, and I used torn paper to mask the hills. Then I stamped the cat and the dragon. I had to go a bit heavy with the shadow under the cat, because I'd accidentally placed him on top of a toadstool, and you could see the dribbly fronds just underneath him - made him look like he had a leaky bottom. Nobody wants that! So hopefully I've hidden that enough with the very dark shadow under him!

Scribbly Flowers

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Less Is More challenge. I stamped the flowers and sentiment, then stamped another small flower on a scrap of card, to layer about the small flower on the card. I really don't like fussy cutting, but I like the extra dimension it has given. I coloured with inks and a water brush, inspired by the colours at the Paper Play challenge, although I had to mix a couple of the colours as I didn't quite have anything that matched. I added some Nuvo Drops to the flower centres to make them stand out a little bit more, and used a Wink of Stella brush to add some shimmer to the flowers, although it hasn't shown up very well on the photos!

Flowers & Beads

Hi, here's a card I made, inspired by this week's Muse challenge. I stamped the image in the corner of the cardstock, and coloured with inks. I accentuated the black dots on the image with Nuvo Drops. I added the green card diagonally over the image, and cut the card down to the original square. I added a strip of mirror board, and threaded some beads to add over the top. I stamped the sentiment onto another piece of green card, and cut it down to a strip, to add below the strip of beads.

Patterned Flower

Hi! Here's a card I made, inspired by the colours from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. The flower is from my new stamp set, which I can't put down, I love it so much! I stamped and embossed in clear, on watercolour paper, then added colour with inks and a water brush. I tried to add some pink at the bottom of the card, to suggest tiny flowers, but over the green it just went muddy :-s But I love the flower, and the bright pink :)

Grungey Flowers

Hi! Here's a card I made using some more stamps from my new stamp set, which I'm a bit obsessed with now. It's a bit splodgier than I intended - think I went overboard with the Brushos (as always) - but I still like it. The embossing powder is white with lots of fine gold glitter, but I'm not sure it shows up that well in the photos.

The colours are inspired by the current Color Throwdown challenge.

Seeing Double

Hi! My cards often come in twos, sometimes threes. I'm not sure if it counts as cheating, as far as challenges are concerned, as the cards are the same design, different colours, but I often find it difficult to choose my colours, so making a couple of variations is a good way to get around the problem. It also helps me to build up my card stash faster!

So here's another tulip card (I love this new stamp!), this time using red and yellow inks, and I held back on the bling this time, just adding one gem to the butterfly.

Working on my Wintery Skies

Hi! Here's another card using my cat digi from Vectorstock. I've added more colours into the sky, to get that wintery sunset look. I added glamour dust to the branches and snow drifts, for some sparkle.
